I'm interested as well. The setting is very similar to a D&D campaign I ran at my table, but I've only had nation RP experience in that capacity (as a DM, not as a player). I'd done some Advanced RP here and am looking to branch out. I don't know what factiond I'd play as but I had a very "Zenobia of Palmyra" flash of inspiration while reading the OP.

@LegionPothIX Don't listen to Sigma. You'd actually be much better as a middle-eastern-esque Justinian, seeing as Palmyra was basically Rome anyhow.

@Publius Palmyra was right on the boarder between the western world and the (middle) eastern world and the Silk Road ran right through it. That's what made it significant in the first place. It only became historically significant after the fact due to how it was ruled and what part it had to play in the war between those two empires.
