His costume consists of a light gray trench coat, under which is a brown suit with a white undershirt and black tie. Oscar wears brown leather gloves, and black elevator shoes which boost his height by two inches. Picture for reference.
Civilian Appearance: Oscar is a seemingly average, unassuming man most often seen wearing a white dress shirt, a black tie and beige khakis. His eyes are baggy from night after night with little to no sleep, and perpetual stubble clings to his face due to the cheap razors he uses. He has brown hair in a close-cropped cut, and dull, icy blue eyes. Picture for reference.

Costumed Personality: The Question is an enigma, to put it simply. Speaking both laconically and sparsely, he is perhaps the very definition of a stoic crusader for justice. However, when he gets to talking, he really gets to talking, with filibusters on his various conspiracy theories ranging from the typical ('The moon landing hoax', 'Roswell UFO incident', etc.) to the odd ('Topically applied fluoride renders your teeth detectable by spy satellite') to the downright idiotic ('Aglets have an unknown, yet sinister, purpose').
Civilian Personality: Oscar is much better at hiding his unstable side. He is polite and cordial, never talking back to his superiors or anyone else for that matter, and seems to be a walking doormat. Beneath this friendly facade is an estranged man suffering from insomnia, with a very strong sense of justice and a black and white morality that would seem borderline insane to others. This inability to get a good night's sleep and his sense of justice is what drove him to become a vigilante.

-Skills: Oscar is a skilled investigator, able to spot small details and make deductions if given the proper clues. He is also skilled in espionage, be it disguises or stealth, and is a proficient combatant, utilizing a mix of boxing and street fighting in addition to using the environment to his advantage.

Costumed Appearance: Snow white hair and glowing green eyes are his two most noticeable features, though his eyebrows are a dark and heavy contrast to his light skin and abnormal hair color. His suit is also decidedly unusual in both its shape and make, being like a jumpsuit with a single black skin-tight underlayer and white gloves, boots, a belt, and a collar. There is the symbol of his family placed off center on his chest, reminiscent of a “D” though slightly distorted.

Civilian Appearance: Ezra Loe spends a lot of time on his appearance, though it doesn't look like it. His hair is usually messy, and painstakingly dyed black every day, the nature of his physiology, and that of his hair in particular, often bleeds the color out by the time forty eight hours pass, and in much shorter time if he uses his powers often. His glowing green eyes are usually safe to be seen during the day without raising suspicion, but a pair of sunglasses are never far out of his reach. His clothes are a hodge podge collection of plain brands, band tees, and a small collection of hoodies and hats to hide his hair in for lazy days.

Costumed Personality: Echo is easily amused, quick to make jokes, especially those that might terrify his enemies, though he also loves when they banter back. He delights in popping out of dark shadows or suddenly appearing around corners to spook his opponents. He's also not known for playing it easy, often hitting hard and only restraining himself from dealing severe damage, though he might leave a scar or three.
Civilian Personality: Shy is the best way to describe Ezra, though studious and intelligent also come to mind, shy is simply the most obvious of his assumed personality, and also the most important. It's decidedly difficult to conceal his alien nature when in close or intimate relationships, so Ezra works hard and keeps his head down, sometimes enjoying outings with his peers during the day, but never staying long into the afternoon and never at night.

• Growing up in a family of scientists and engineers, Edan came to Earth with a superior education to even the modern college graduate, though his knowledge on many subjects was not particularly useful in his new life and he had to study relentlessly to catch up on certain skills before even considering attending an American college. His natural intelligence and advantageous origins did come in handy in some subjects however, specifically around certain types of technology, and the scientific fields of chemistry, physics, and astrology.

-Powers:

• Ecto-Being: Echo has been ‘infinitized’ which is a term his people use to describe being converted into an ectoplasmic life form. Ectoplasm is suspected to be a material not native to this universe, or dimension, and thus behaves unusually, giving off large amounts of unique energy. This energy can be used by ectoplasm based technologies or life forms to obtain and fuel their powers. This allows him to exists entirely off his own energy output, requiring neither to eat, drink, or breathe, though he must do the latter in order to talk.
• Ecto-Energy Manipulation: Echo can manipulate the very energy his body is made of, usually in the form of shooting super charged blasts of the glowing green energy out of his hands, but also by making barriers of it to repel attacks. A large amount of the energy can be expelled from him all at once in an explosive wave, but though effective such a move would also incapacitate him until he had a chance to recharge, and similarly by expending a large amount of ecto-energy over time by overusing other abilities would also weaken and eventually incapacitate him. Another use is to coat objects or beings in a field of energy in order to extend his other powers to them.
• Flight: Ectoplasm has a unique relationship with gravity, largely due to being an element with excessive amounts of innate energy as well as having suspicious origins possibly not of this dimension- essentially it ignores gravity when it wants to, and obeys as it wills. Being made of said substance gives Echo the ability to fly as he wishes.
• Intangibility and Invisibility: Much like ectoplasm’s wishy washy relationship with gravity, it can have similar reactions to most kinds of light and matter, thus allowing Echo to become invisible and still see, and become intangible and still breathe, but only for short periods of time as both are taxing and take focus.

-Weaknesses/Vulnerabilities/Power Negations:

• Blood Blooms: A type of alien flower, with red petals and thorny black stems. They look surprisingly Earth-like but they feed on a rare kind of ectoplasmic radiation abundant on Ghol that's rare on Earth. They can be found in colder climates in the American Northwest scattered in dirty corners around major population centers, and though they look sickly and shriveled compared to their huge blooms on Ghol they can still suck the energy from Echo at a quick and painful pace.
• Trauma Coma: Though Echo needs no air to breathe, and thus can't be choked out, he can still lose consciousness if subjected to enough force.
• Physical Attacks: Granted some small resistance to energy based attacks, Echo is actually weaker against physical strikes which work to disrupt his own energy and break his form. This weakness explains his tendency to fight from range when weakened or uncertain, but is easily exploitable when Echo is feeling confident and chatty.

-Gadgets:

• Zon Tube: Essentially a handheld prison cell, Echo’s in fact. This was used on him when he first became ‘infinitized’ and was banished to Zon. It’s cap shows the green hex framed by grey that symbolizes the Gate to Zon portal. It's use is in destabilizing ectoplasm and storing it for short periods of time, an item he has yet to need but held onto anyway. It works only on ectoplasm however, and is damaging to normal Ectonians and can destroy ecto-technology, but has no effect on other organisms or objects.

Civilian Occupation: Part-time student at CCU, part-time gym clerk at Buffy’s, and occasional fill-in for a waiter at the Small Café.

Biography

Character History/Origin:

Echo was born under the name Edan Fo-To D’sra, second child of Emad Fo-Fen and Edj To-To, his mother and father, the founders of House D’sra. They were brilliant scientists, but considered odd by the rest of their people because of their fascination with Zon. Perhaps the naming scheme gave it away, but you see, Echo was not born on Earth, instead he was born on a small cold world orbiting a most perplexing star.

That world was called Ghol, the tiny city where he grew up was called Lans, and the people that lived on that world called themselves Ectonians- or that is the best translation available at least. All life on Ghol was shaped by Zon, the Ecto-Star, a massive collection of ectoplasmic energy unlike anything the Ectonians had come across before settling on Ghol. Gradually the Ectonians came to rely on the unique star for sustenance, acquiring an almost photosynthetic-like ability to harness it, as did all life on the planet, absorbing small amounts of ecto-radiation to become stronger, faster, lighter, and infinite other tiny applications for the trace amounts of ectoplasm now collecting in their bodies.

Ghol was the only world in that system however, and it had grown lazy and content, letting much of their advanced technology stagnate and regress. So when the two geniuses Emad and Edj began studying Zon and managed to turn ectoplasm into a power source for machines, they started a technological revolution that would end in the greatest series of catastrophes the planet would ever see. As new industries sprung up, the Ectonians were desperate for more ectoplasm and, because the planet was so close to the star, they began using a powerful portal device called the ‘Gate to Zon’ to send small expeditions out to harvest ectoplasm straight from the star’s thin atmosphere, which did not melt or burn for reasons the Ectonians never discovered. A mere decade after these expeditions started Edan was thirteen years old and living in the most expensive house on the planet, though that wealth was not visible in taste or looks but in sheer value of the technology being designed and assembled there, but that changed when Zon got his vengeance on the mortal thieves; a massive lash of ectoplasm, much like an overcharged solar flare, burst out from the star and raked across the surface of the planet, killing thousands and spawning the first of the ‘infinitized.’ These were not just Ectonians, but also other creatures from Ghol that had evolved the ability to harness ecto-radiation, the ability was turned against them and used to overload their cells until all that was left was ectoplasm in the mold of the organism they had once been, some ‘molds’ more accurate than others. All of the infinitized creatures were shoved through the Gate of Zon, deemed too dangerous to try and kill. Soon after they discovered that the former organic creatures could now survive in Zon’s atmosphere, a foggy green place interspersed with floating islands of ectoplasm-contaminated minerals, and with that discovery came the law to banish the infinitized Ectonians as well.

That was the theme for the next few years, Edan found his life turned upside down as his world began to die, struck five more time by flares from Zon, and his parents struggling to save them. Then, as he turned nineteen and left on a trip to deliver aid to a Zon-struck city, Edan was caught in the lash of the seventh flare. Becoming infinitized was the single most painful experience of his life, and immediately following it was twelve days surrounded by others who’d been struck, trapped in a wasteland with both those whose very minds and bodies had been corrupted and those who had remained mostly whole but too horrified and grief stricken to do anything but fall apart. On the beginning of the thirteenth day, whilst fleeing from one of the more crazed individuals, Edan was captured in a Zon Tube and banished through the Gate.

He was there for barely a month, eking out an existence amongst the few sane he had found, when he was contacted by a mysterious alien from deeper inside the ecto-star. He and his group were offered the chance to escape, and through agreeing they found themselves locked in ancient life pods riddled with ectoplasm and launched into deep space on separate courses. Edan crash landed on Earth alone, roused from his long sleep within the pod and then began the long and arduous process of learning to fit in. He was grateful to have escaped the bleak light of Zon, and his desolate and despairing homeworld, but when he discovered his trip to Earth had taken a little over two hundred years he nonetheless worried and wondered over what had become of Ghol and his family.

Now it is three years past his arrival on Earth, Edan is now Ezra Loe, who sometimes visits the Small Café which may or may not be frequented by a couple other secret aliens. He works hard to disguise himself, and struggles with the pressure of forcing himself to keep others at arm's length lest he end up on a government dissection table. Even as he tries to keep his head down, he does his damndest to succeed anyway, trying hard to pull in enough money to survive and fund his education, dreaming of the stars and a job he knows he’ll never get. All the while others are stirring, breaking out of their shells just enough that Ezra thinks of becoming Echo.

Fun Facts:

• When Echo blushes or bleeds, the color is neon green.
• Ectonians naturally have various blue or green shades of skin, but when Echo was infinitized some of his old looks were changed, including rounding his ears from the naturally pointed Ectonian ears.
• Ectonians were not deeply religious, but they had many beliefs regarding their ancestors, spirits, and Zon, all of which culminated in Echo translating the Ectonian name for Zon’s peculiar ‘spiritual’ or ‘spectral’ energy into the human word ectoplasm.
• Echo has had no luck finding other Ectonians or even a whisper of their existence since coming to Earth.
• Echo always wanted to be a space explorer, and has now set his sights on the unattainable dream of being a human astronaut.
• Ectoplasm absorbs heat, making rooms begin to chill when Echo enters them, and he is always cold to touch, but an ecto-blast will still leave burns behind regardless of if the energy ‘feels’ cold
• The guise of ‘Echo’ as a hero was born out of Ezra fantasizing about being free and using his powers, using them for good was an afterthought really, he just wanted to stop hiding somehow.

• Benjamin Bello: A middle aged alien from a planet called Tamaran, he is a staunch pacifist and vegetarian, thus why he hides on Earth pretending to be human instead of on Tamaran enjoying the warrior culture and large feasts. He is a friend of Ezra’s who figured out he was an alien and invited him to the Small Café, which is run by an alien and thus automatically having the patronage of every alien in the city, though that number is few. Ezra views Ben as a possible informant about all things alien on the west coast, and a few things alien elsewhere.

Right now I place him at a high medium, but there's potential for rising up to a High Powerhouse Aquaman analogue later if we want. He could always find himself in charge of a small Ectonian colony (Atlantis analogue?) or granted an ectoplasmic artifact cough crownoffire cough ringofrage coughcough (trident/lantern ring analogue?) or both, or neither if you prefer.

I also mentioned that the term ectoplasm may not be exactly right, and that there was some mythology about the nature of their sun that led the Ectonians to believe it was spiritual energy, meaning Echo's translation may not be spot on. I'm still gonna call it ectoplasm, but as for how relevant the energy is to our spiritual/magical comrades I'll leave that up to someone else, as Echo and his kind took a decidedly scientific approach and mixed just enough mysticism in to be spooky. :P

Costumed Appearance: Clayton eschews a colorful costume or a mask, preferring to stick to a more 'practical' ensemble, usually favoring cheap, dark Men's Warehouse suits and ties, his favorite being a charcoal pinstripe suit, olive shirt and a gray hatch tie. On occasion he'll don a dark purple, runed cloak over these suits, though this is almost always limited to occasions where formality with his fellow mystics is required, or when consulting The Master (Currently the oldest living wizard).

Icon: A black, ebony skull over a pair of skeletal arms; One holding a scale, the other a sword.

Costumed Personality: While 'on the job', Clayton turns up his hardass persona, playing the part of a Humphrey Bogart character with a supernatural twist. Hardboiled, ready with a rude wit and the threat of tormenting a criminal's soul for all eternity or turning them into hideous, soulless undead (threats which he has never actually carried out, but the bad guys don't need to know that). He is otherwise not very different from his normal self.

Civilian Personality: A gruff but likable man of strong beliefs and possessing little fear of speaking his mind, being a staunch conservative compared to many other heroes. Many who meet him would compare him to the detective Raymond Chandler described in 'The Simple Art of Murder'; A proud, noble sort with a rugged sense of honor and a contempt for sham and pettiness, ready to help right wrongs and give his fellow man a fair shake, and possessing little patience for those who cross his moral line. He treats the supernatural beings he deals with on a daily basis with a casualness that many find frightening, seeing demons, undead and wizards just a part of his days at the office. He holds a special contempt for the Fae, though, and any who abuse the powers of magic can expect little in the way of pity or mercy from him.

Super abilities:

-Skills: Clayton is a skilled detective, versed in both mundane and supernatural investigation and familiar with the cultures and practices of numerous mystic races and orders. In addition he is skilled boxer and at least competent with a number of weapon types (mostly swords and bows, as those tend be the most likely to be enchanted.)

-Powers: As a mystic specialized in necromancy, Clayton commands magical control over life and death, able to both heal and harm with the dark energies of his chosen school. He is able to commune with, bind or expunge the spirits of the dead, as well as reanimating corpses, though he rarely utilizes this ability outside of questioning those who are too freshly dead to have had their spirits pass on.

-Gadgets: Witchlight Lantern: A black, skull-shaped wrought-iron lantern with no space for oil or a candle. Brought along when he needs to locate supernaturals in an unfamiliar area or those that move frequently, it glows with a bright green aura when within 60 feet of a magic aura.

Necromancer's Athame: A small, flute-sized piece carved from what looks like a human shinbone, complete with small holes that seem fit to carry a tune. Clayton typically plays a short, summoning song with this when he needs to commune with spirits, though it can also be effectively used as a push dagger.

Silver Nail: A silver railroad spike covered in small runes, possessing the ability to trap demons or incorporeal undead.

Biography---------

Character History/Origin: There isn't too much to be said about this bull of a man. Born and raised in Gotham City, Clayton is the eldest of three brothers, son to a GCPD detective and an antique dealer. For most of his early life he lived an utterly mundane existence, going through a mediocre run in high school while avoiding the gang warfare that raged across his city. It was one of these battles which would eventually claim his father's life, leading Clayton into a spiral of depression and alcoholism, where drunken fights would have surely eventually ended up with the young man in prison, had he not been saved from this destructive course by The Master. From here he learned of his family's lineage, descended from a line of necromancers who used their power to keep the balance between mundane and supernatural, and was taught the ways of magic and the occult to continue this tradition. Since then he's been active for over twenty years, acting both on his own and with various teams of heroes as an occult consultant. Nowdays he's busier than ever with the return of superpowered individuals en mass, trying to keep the two worlds he lives in from destroying eachother, as well as trying to raise a teenage son.

Little is known for sure about this man, if he is indeed that, save that he is schooled several different disciplines of magic, particularly shapeshifting, and has trained three generations of wizards, witches and mystics across the world. While he most commonly appears as an elderly Black man, he has spoken to his students in different forms when he feels the need to make a point to his students. He considers it his purpose to keep the balance between the mundane world and the supernatural, and to protect both from occult threats, and has trained numerous students to fight this battle.

Icon: The Lantern Corps symbol for hope, a thick circle with rectangles rectangles both above and below the circle. A stylized version exists on his uniform, while his ring holds a straighter version.
Costumed Personality: There exists little difference between how Emerald acts and how Preston acts. The Emerald Knight is the name of the unchained persona inside Preston. With the mask on, he feels like he's a completely different person with different responsibilities to Coast City and the earth as a whole. However, the biggest difference with the mask is that he's a little more "Hello citizen!" than he ever would be normally. As the Embodiment of willpower, he musters the drive to tackle any and all problems before him using whatever he can think of, and this bleeds heavily into his masked persona. If the man couldn't be stopped when he didn't have a magical power ring, think of what happened to his thought process after he got it.
Civilian Personality: A complex man with very complex tastes. Does he drink Dr. Pepper, or Coke? What movie should he watch for the fortieth time? Is he going to be the last person standing in a bar fight, or the second to last? These are the complex and important decisions that Preston makes every single day. Still a little bit of a child at heart, he refuses to step down from any challenge, including bleaching his hair and dying it blonde. He's determined to win, and win honorably. He sometimes lacks the foresight to see when a fight will land him in some serious trouble, or if its a bad idea to check out a meteor crash site, but it usually works out for the better.

-Powers: Energy Construct Generation - The Power Ring grants Preston to conjure literally anything he can think of out of pure energy. The constructs are only as powerful as Preston is willful, but can still be broken by strong enough forces. This includes force fields, body doubles, and even generalized energy blasts. His constructs allow him to lift much more than any being could without assistance, though the lift would still strain his body. An underlying defect of the rings keeps Preston and other ring users from effecting anything that is yellow, to which he doesn't understand why.
Flight - Green Lanterns are able to fly up to Mach 10 in atmosphere zones, and possibly faster without anything holding them back.
Universal Translator - Being in an intergalactic peace keeping corps means that you have to be able to talk to any one and thing.
-Gadgets: Power Ring - The tool of the Green Lanterns, bore unto them by the ring itself, allows the Green Lanterns to do everything that they can do. Once a Green lantern dies, the ring chooses a nearby being who bears a strong amount of a certain emotion. In the Green Lantern's case, this emotion is Willpower. The ring is only as powerful as the user is, and their current mental state and amount of willpower are the driving factors as to how well the ring works. Each ring is powered by a battery, and must be charged once every full rotation of the current planet's axis, regardless of use.
Power Battery - The battery powers the power ring, giving it... power. It does little else, other than charge a ring. Power batteries are not interchangable. Blue Lanterns cannot use a Green Lantern Power Battery.

Civilian Occupation: Astronomer

Biography---------

Character History/Origin: Preston Westfield grew up in Coast City, looking up at the stars and wishing to one day hold one in his hands. His dreams were always above the clouds, in the mysterious void that was space. As a young boy, such interests were believed to be nerdy, before being nerdy was popular. As such, he was subjected to bullying. However, being bullied never made him timid. He stood tall during every confrontation, and waited for the first swing before doing anything himself. He never took any classes of any sort. He learned brawling during his schoolyard fights, protecting his love of space and those who shared his interests. As good of a fighter as he was, he was no athelete. He wanted to be a scientist who studied the stars.

As he grew older, Preston set his sights where his dreams were. His top-not knowledge landed him a full ride scholarship to the university of his choice, where he studied astronomy. His dreams were coming true, and after high school, he was hardly involved in fights. That didn't mean that he wasn't involved in them. He still protected the little guy, up until he left his university to go back home to Coast City. He had already been talking with the local labs of the city and had gotten himself a job as a paid intern, doing what he always wanted to do.

That was when it happened.

A sudden meteor shower had occurred over Coast City. There was nothing foretelling the event. Preston had been driving home after a long night at the bar, finding some more thugs to persuade into finding a happier life. He was still at the top, even if his body hurt. The shooting stars shone overhead, catching his attention, but they were much to large and much too bright. With a smile on his face, he knew he had to follow the direction the asteroids were moving. There had to be something that landed on the ground that he could show off to his coworkers.

It was then that he realized that it wasn't a meteor shower. They were moving too slow, more than enough for him to follow the trajectory to arrive at the crash site.

It was more than Preston could have ever hoped to find. It was an actual alien space ship! With an actual dying alien! Wait. Oh no.

The alien spoke vocally, but it was through thought that Preston could understand him. In his dying moments, the alien allowed his ring to be slipped off. Preston watched it float into the sky and dart around. He wanted to follow it, but it was much too fast. It was only seconds later that the ring returned, proclaiming Preston as the successor to the ring.

Preston disappeared for three weeks after that. The ring had sent him to the base of the green lanterns for training. It seemed like it was a public job. But one that offered no reward. Preston was all fine for a job that was paid in smiles, but he still needed to pay bills. He donned a mask and called himself the emerald knight, because green lantern sounded silly, and Preston could actually make himself a knight using the powers of his new ring. Only after succeeding in his training did he come home to be the protector of the stars. His stars.

And he couldn't be happier.
