Can I choose whose heart he ate to become one? I feel like my guy would have a mocking connection with whoever that member would be. Also, how would another vampire learning alchemy work? I was curious about that.
Assuming my CS is accepted I believe I wrote Korrina as responsible for the creation of three of the nine Alphas. Lytton's second in command Agnes, one in the middle probably #5 or #6 and in her directly previous life she was used to elevate #9. Statistically it's a decent chance and I'd enjoy playing with the dynamic between one of the Six and an immortal she unwillingly created. Up to you though and of course pending my acceptance and possible revision of my CS.
@Prince of Seraphs That could be fun. He would then be calling her Mother. I'm thinking that my Alpha would be more of the shadowy Banker type. Like he looks far too young to do what he does. So he uses humans as his agents. I've got a whole backstory thought up.
@Avanhelsing Was he turned at a really young age. Like perhaps he was someone Lytton cared about, a son or the child of a friend and he turned him to save his life from a terminal illness or something?
Emma appears to have been out for a few days. I'm not executive on character decisions by any means, but your idea @Avanhelsing doesn't sound unreasonable at all to me. A well presented sheet that pitches the idea could have a shot.
It took me so long but here it is! My guy! I might add more later. I wanted to go over all the big banking stuff of all time.
Full Name: William Johnathan Lancaster "Mammon's Brother"
Nicknames/Alias/AKA: There are so many names. Here are a few of his favorites.
William: His fellow Originals have always called him William. He has many names but that one stays the same regardless of his persona.
Billy: His current preferred name for his favorite cover. He looks young enough to be a party animal. He most certainly is an animal and can hide his true intentions. Billy always seems to be at the hottest clubs. Everyone only sees the hard partying boy and yet they never see the boy talking to scary men in suits.
The Banker: He is known only as The Banker. This shadowy figure seems to be every where, yet nowhere. Terrified men scream of a man who "cannot be" with his army of loyal lieutenants with their thugs. The man funds criminals around the world and seems to move like a ghost. Whoever he is, this man has power and knows how to wield it.
Age: Looks around: 21 years old. Real Age : 720 years old. Born on June 28 , 1297 in London. Gender: Male
Occupation:: Far too many to count. However, his occupation on paper would be student. While in reality, he is a criminal mastermind or he likes to say so. It makes him seem more interesting. Will has money for any occasion.
Hair Color: Light Brown
Eye Color: Grey
Height/Build: 6'1" Muscular due to his nature.
Personality: Just like his three names and aliases, there are different facets to William. Each one of his aliases has a different personality.
William: Ever since he was changed into what he is now, William has been loyal to his fellow Originals. They were the family that he never really had. William is the voice of reason who does his best to keep everyone from yelling at each other. There is no reason for them all to be fighting since they are all in it together. William does not announce this to his "family" but he has made nine different bank accounts for them in case of a rainy day. He knows how hard it is to have to run away from something so having the money ready for them should they need it. William knows how to maneuver through human society unseen and has an odd fixation with them. He does not see them as cattle or food but as interesting beings. That does not stop him from drinking blood but he does not do it for kicks. Unless it is one of the Six. One of his favorite things is drinking the blood of one of them. Nothing tastes better in this world. Oddly enough, William hates regular vampires. The creatures made by his siblings are barely vampires in his eyes. They are perfection and these things are not worthy of a place at the table. A true vampire is one who eats the heart of an immortal to gain true power. William only keeps a few of the "lesser vampires" around as basic thugs or attack dogs at worst.
Billy: Billy is a rather new persona. Since the modern world has odd stereotypes when it comes to money, William created the bon vivant character of of Billy. Billy can go running around the city acting young and stupid. No one cares what some 20 something is doing in a club that just so happens to be owned by Colombian drug lords who have issues with a certain powerful banker. Billy can move unseen which is just the way William likes his personas. Billy enjoys drinking and acting like a fool at all of the hottest night clubs. William acts like Billy is just another person.
The Banker: He is quiet and frightening to say the least. He does not want to be seen and does everything that he can to keep himself in the shadows. Early on in his new life, William discovered that it was easier to use human agents to do his bidding. No one would bat an eye if some old man was running an empire but they would have questions as to why a young man was at the helm. So the Banker stays in the shadows. Most people only ever see his agents. Only his trusted Lieutenants, The Golden Ones, and his fellow Originals know the Banker's true name. Every one of his Lieutenants would die for their Master and William rewards their loyalty. He is oddly protective of his Golds since their families have served hims for countless generations.
To say that William was born in filth would be an understatement. William Johnathan Lancaster was born on June 28, 1297 in the foulest corner of the kingdom of England. His mother was a prostitute and young William saw the true darkness in the hearts of men. He saw how foul people could be just by watching how his mother made her money. Most of her coin went towards his drinks or herself and thus William had to learn how to steal to make his living. He would steal food or whatever else he could get his hands on. By the time he was ten, William had made his own gang of street children who would steal for their leader. William enjoyed his little kingdom until he tried to steal from the wrong person. Will spotted a well dressed man and a woman (Jon and Agnes) walking through his local market. Without even thinking, Will tried to steal the rich man's coin purse but the man moved like a snake and caught the boy's hand. Instead of begging for his life, Will glared at the man and refused to cower. His lack of fear seemed to impress the pair and they decided to take the boy as a mascot of sorts. William distinguished him using his street smarts to prove to the two that he was worthy of their time. The two taught William how to fight and act in certain situations. William excelled in his lessons and was fiercely loyal without a shred of selfish desire. William was ambitious but not power hungry. He knew his place in the world and he liked it. Jon and Agnes told him the story of the Six and how certain people could gain power from it. That power of immortality was all William wanted for himself.
His efforts seemed to pay off around his twenty first birthday, when he was called down into a deep dark basement. There William saw ,strapped to a stone slab, one of the Six (To be named Later). Jon and Agnes helped Will cut out the still beating heart and eat it raw. Thus William Lancaster became the third Original. William relished in his new undeath. It was everything that he had ever wanted and yet he could not find his own place in the world. He had been a common thief but he had to be more. For 100 years, William was just lost and could not find his place in the world. Then whilst in Italy for Jon on the hunt for the Six, William found his true calling. That calling was Banking. He could not lead men into battle but he surely could make the money for wars appear and vanish at the same time. Money was the true power in this world and Will had a skill for it. For years, he was a Banker as he slowly turned into the man he would become. He rubbed elbows with the Medici and he thought that he found another one of the Six but he could not place her. After years of profiting from the near constant Italian Wars, William decided to return to his native England since he felt that was where the money was going.
William saw the Goldsmiths and their practices and quickly joined in on his own. He had enough gold to start lending on his own and eventually used this gold to continue into his own bank. He was there when Child & Co opened its doors to start lending. William used his gold and banking knowledge he had gained in Italy to raise his investments. William saw the South Sea Company as an amazing investment and invested heavily in the company. During this time, he run into a gang called The Travers Gang. William needed a group of thugs to get their hands dirty while William kept to the shadows. The Guardians and Hunters were all over London while William had to stay hidden for now. He could send his boys out while he stay in the shadows giving the orders. His men were fiercely loyal to him and it gave Will enough time to focus on making money while helping his siblings wherever they were needed. Will saw the signs that the South Seas Bubble was about to burst and got out quick. He made countless of millions of pounds with his smart investments but it caught the attention of the Six. William quickly took his cash and fled the city for the Americas. Before he escaped, he gave his investments to the Travers Gang while teaching them what to do. The group swore their loyalty to their master and Will fled feeling safe in his choices.
He settled in the colony of New York. There were so many new investments in the Americas. The Guardians were not as deeply entrenched in the New World and Will saw a chance for making more money. Will got involved with the Tobacco trade while gaining another group of loyal servants, The Campbells . This family needed a patron and Will needed a cover. So he used his knowledge to keep the family going. They grew rich off the backs of forced labor but Will did not care any more. He was beyond caring about the plights of the average person. The Campbell clan eventually got too powerful after a vampire changed a few of them against Will's demands. So Will used his power to trap the entire family inside of their mansion and burned them alive in punishment. He was not going to take this kind of disloyalty. From then on, Will took direct control of his North American holdings and swore that his siblings were the only vampires he would trust. During the American Revolution, Will supported the Americans mostly because he wanted to gain even more power in the new colony. He tried his best to get his brothers and sisters to come over to the colonies with him.
Then Will decided that he wanted to travel again. This time he went towards colonial India. He had invested in the East India Company and wanted to see the continuing investment. Will arrived in Bombay in 1795. Once there, he decided to get into the Opium Trade. It was an interesting and lucrative trade to China. While he was in Bombay one day, he felt a hand in his pocket. Quick as a whip, Will grabbed the hand of a young Indian boy. For the first time in almost 500 years, Will felt pity for this boy. Raj Heravdakar was the boy's name and he reminded Will of himself. Just like Jon had done for him, Will took the boy in and trained him in his path. He wanted Raj to take over his Asian investments. This was the first time that Will had gotten into the drug trade and he loved it. The risk was minimal and the profits were high since he was growing his own poppy and making his own opium for trade. In the end he got a great deal of coin off the backs off addicts. Will eventually left Bombay in the capable hands of Raj. He knew that the man would be better than most at making money. Will got his hands into human trafficking and the drug trade. Now he had multiple ways of making money for his empire.
Will added multiple other members to his little group. During WW2, Will met Vladimir Luka. He instantly liked the Russian smuggler and his devil may care attitude. Will combined his South East Asian holding with Vladimir so he could smuggle his diamonds and people through Eastern Europe. The smuggler boosted his trade and now Will feels untouchable. He has everything working exactly how he likes it. Will wants to move into South America to get his hands on some of that sweet cartel cash. It is the one continent where he does not have an Empire. He created The Golden Ones to condense his holdings and to keep his allies close. He gave each of them a title based on their native tongues to make them as mysterious as The Banker. Each one of the mortal families tells the story of their immortal benefactor and how he protects them. Will has so much work to do right now. He wants the whole world in his hand but his family needs him. The Middle East and South America can wait since Will feels like going on the hunt with his owned officials. Will sits in his penthouse in Manhattan and enjoys his life. Sometimes you just have got to have a little fun. Nothing says fun like going on the hunt again.
Extra: He has an odd obsession with the Silver Daggers that can kill him. The magic or whatever that created them makes them very interesting.
Will has cultivated as large group of loyal human agents. He dislikes vampires on the most part since most are unlike his family. Each one of his The lieutenants are all mortal and fiercely loyal to their Master without the need of mind control.
The Golden Mistress of Mumbai. Kareena is Will's most trusted agent. She smuggles in drugs and humans.
The current Head of the Travers Clan. Will turned them from a street gang of thugs to a street gang of Bankers. The family has money all around the world.
One of Will's newest agents. He wants to get into the Middle East and Omer will get him there. The Rashids have followed Will for almost 150 years.
The First of his family and Will uses his smuggler for everything. Will wants his him to retire somewhere nice but the smuggler refuses.
finally done! might make a witch later since we're allowed two characters. unsure.
In his youth:
Victorien, despite getting older, still has perfect eyesight and a keen sense of smell. However, he lost the exterior of his left ear in the late 1960’s, and has had to learn to adjust to a near total lack of hearing on that side. He, additionally, suffered horrible burns on his left leg courtesy of a witch in the ‘70’s, and has since walked with a cane: though he can still move pretty well without it if he needs to. the leg’s quite sensitive though. He also concealed carries a Sig Sauer P220 handgun.
Full Name: Victorien Arsène Brookes-Deveraux
Alias: Abraham Roux, Rhys Tanner
Occupation: Bookstore owner (semi-retired)
Current Location: Lafayette, LA, USA
Height/Build: 5’10”, 150lbs - Thin, wiry, but strong.
Bio: Born on April 13, 1950 to Madeleine Katia Deveraux and Harvey Frank Brookes, Vic lived the first 10 years or so of his life with a mostly absent mother, as Madeleine was dealing with a long-term Vampire intrigue in Denmark with the Deveraux family. He learned mostly from his father the basics of Hunter life, something he only learned after marrying Madeleine – and it certainly said something about his love for her that he not only stayed, but decided to become her record keeper. When Madeleine was finally able to return, she gave a more in-depth training on the academic world of Hunting, while beginning to train him in shooting and hand-to-hand fighting as he got older. At age 18, he was sent to France to work more closely with the Deveraux.
Overall, his experiences with them were quite positive, and he learned even more – including the myth of the six – during his time with the French family. There were two experiences of major note for him during his training (1968-78), both of which lead to his two deformities.
his first ever true hunt was in 1969, when a vampire coven was stirring up some major shit outside Avignon. Things... did not go as planned. They had heard about the attack, and had cleared their caves before the group firebombed the coven, ambushing the group as they sifted through the ashes. Of the 7 who were sent, 3 were killed, and 1 lost an arm. All things considered, Vic was lucky that he only lost his ear before he was able to get a point blank crossbow shot off on the vampire trying to tear him apart.
In 1975, he was sent with a friend to deal with a pyromaniac witch, on request of the local counsel. They were supposed to bring her back alive, but it really seemed like it wasn’t going to go that way after she started chucking fireballs at them while cackling madly on her roof about a conspiracy against her. His partner eventually got upstairs and slit her throat while Vic kept her busy with gunfire, but she still managed to score a hit just to his left that caught that pantleg on fire – and he was forced to sustain fore for another half minute to protect his partner before dealing with the leg. The fact that he could even still walk on it was nothing short of a miracle.
While in the hospital, he ended up falling hard for one of his nurses. This wasn’t Zoe, I just thought you should know that.
He met Zoe at a Dinner party the Deveraux held, and they hit off from there. He lived with her in England for a year before they could marry and get her over to the states. She was already aware of the Hunters – they had saved her grand-uncle from some witches at some point – which made things go more smoothly when he went off to go stalk a vampire in bayou for a half year - no contacts with the outside world – and other such adventures.
Most of what came next was just expanding his secret library/collection, training his son, and making connections in the Hunter world. He’s content with the knowledge that he has saved countless people from the dangers of the supernatural world, and has been continuously amazed by the technological advancements made in his lifetime. His phone is very cool. He can access maps on it!
Vic’s connections within local catholic church groups is especially deep, despite the hunters no longer associating with the church, and he has become well known in the area for donating large sums, lobbying congress, and volunteering his time at the churches, and is a constant donor to the Catholic Relief Services – almost joining the board of directors before realizing it would probably interfere with his work.
His mother’s lineage goes direct to the outer Deveraux family (not quite inner circle), her parents moving to the states in 1919 after getting caught up in legal troubles. His father’s history was pre-colonial, his family making their fortune in trade up and down the river, before his grandfather built the bookstore that they currently own, for reasons that are mostly unclear, back in 1894. They still hold some good stocks in some river shipping companies, so he more or less makes more money without even trying at this point.
Other/Extra: Proficiencies/abilities: -Expert Forger: Vic is well known in hunter circles as the man who can and will forge whatever documents you need, When it comes to passports, identification cards, and other official documents, Vic has the equipment, know-how, and contacts to get you one – you just need the money. -Tri-Lingual: Capable of speaking French, English, and Spanish. -Bibliophile: Vic knows a lot about history, politics, current events, and that which pertains to hunting. He is aware of the myth of the six (seeing them as demons, and knowing that they and the guardians have weapons that could kill original vampires), knows the laws of the witches, knows the weaknesses of normal vampires, and is aware of the origins of the hunters (a lot of modern hunter mythology is not kind to its founder, and sees it as their duty to atone for his mistakes with their endless protection of society). -eagle eye: Vic rarely misses with his rifle. Important Possessions: -iPhone 3 -1971 Chevrolet Camaro SS350: Grey with Green stripe. - The Brooks household: Integrated into his bookstore, this house holds a number of things that would surprise the casual visitor - Underground bunker: the stairs down to the basement lead to a heavy steel locked door – a nuclear bunker left over from the cold war era. If you have the passcode, you enter another, more high tech room, which takes a thumbprint, another passcode, and a voice recognition test. If you pass that, you gain access to Vic’s base – an expansion of that designed by his mother. It holds: - A number of machines, dyes, and other forging materials -many books – often hand-written – describing and cataloging different vampires, witches, and other evils in the area. Also has some rudimentary information on possible guardian base locations -a desktop computer, protected by a rotating password, with all important data stored on multiple external hard-drives: this is mostly used for additional research, and to copy over the old books to a digital format. -a number of specimens of vampires, including a brain and a heart, kept preserved in jars. -canned foods: enough for a month. Kept well away from the vampire innards. -multiple very comfortable chairs -hunter’s gear and equipment: -crossbow: wooden and normal bolts accompany -a number of modern hunting rifles -hatchet -There is also a Winchester Model 1894 rifle hanging behind the checkout stand. It looks entirely normal amongst many other old mementos and books, but is always kept clean and loaded, for the protection of whatever family member is running the register. The bookstore and house is otherwise what you’d expect from an eclectic old man who runs a bookstore. Lots of nooks and crannies, 2 relatively friendly cats, and a lot of good books. Contacts: Deveraux family – His mother’s side are Deveraux, and it is from her that he gained many of the contacts and skills he still has to this day. While not in constant contact with them, he is well known and relatively well respected by the family, though his attitude towards the guardians causes some friction. American Government Insider: “Paul” is a man who can get “Abraham” (the name by which he knows Vic) what he needs, on the occasion that Vic does not have all the information or material he needs to forge something. Wellesley family – Vic often butts heads with them on the treatment of witches, but they otherwise co-ordinate relatively well, and he has worked with them on multiple occasions in the past. Knows a few local non-threatening witches, useful for pointing him in the direction of the local tribunal, and who occasionally have come to him about out of control witches or vampires Korikov Family – He’s about as open to the idea of working with someone trained by them as he is to working with a Guardian. Phillip Abel Brookes-Deveraux – Vic and Zoe’s son, currently working in France with the Deveraux family. Slight rift between him and Vic as to how to treat guardians, but Vic trusts that it won’t cause permanent harm. (31 years old / / 5’7 / / better at acting then thinking) Zoe Elain Brookes-Deveraux (formerly Fox) – Vic’s wife: overall supportive of his hunter lifestyle, and knows enough to at least identify a vampire and kill one, but mostly just stays out of the way of that whole deal, choosing to manage the store instead. (64 years old / / 5’4” / / very nearsighted) Likes: reading / / cats / / car travel / / researching possible foes / / making connections / / coffee Dislikes/fears: air travel / / unnecessary surprises / / fire
Sorry everyone there was an unexpected death in the family and I did/am not handling it well. It's seems like every time I've ever tried to GM a RP something happens in real life to ruin everything.
Thank you for your interest in this and for your amazing character creations. I can't GM at this time in my life. I apologize because I was MIA and as a result you all were left waiting, confused, worried and annoyed. I know what it's like when GM bail and I hate that I did that.
@Emma I very sorry for your loss and understand completely, real life comes first and it is never easy to lose a family member. This is a wonderful concept and if you ever decide to revive it I'm still 100% interested.
