@Lovejoy oh definitely, I remembered about the nations. As for the assistance...it's not entirely clear so far just how much civilization is out in the wastes, so I calculated the three days from Magnagrad. It's possible they had some intermittent shelter, perhaps even a little transportation. Perhaps even among the Godless, or "suburban" towns, such as they are in this world. It's why I kept the 15 miles a day instead of decreasing it to something more reasonable for eight-year-olds lead by a twelve-year-old. But the help wouldn't have been everywhere. And I had fun with the math.

And it makes Rose a BAMF. ^.^

OH whoops, missed a part. Why lie? Because Lord Varya consumes all, but in reality, a nation that is going to have the same fighters die in battle executed following a surrender, as well as their ruling family, is a LOT less likely to surrender. Especially Lanostre, though they did have their goddess do that...might be some conflict internally because of that.

T'sarae surrendered before even fighting, and they were the first, so perhaps they didn't know what would follow. Actually, I guess...given that the other two are one unclear and one fighting to the bitter end, it's conceivable that killing everyone in those groups is feasible. It's just that people tend not to like that sort of thing. Most people don't surrender when surrender means death, and other people tend to get angry about it (though that's in our world, where there's a standard of not killing those who surrender). @Lovejoy

@shylarah All I'll say for now is that Gods and humans are very different, and their perspectives on what would be best for the people under their rule might differ.

As for the presence of civilization out in the wastes, I picture there being a few different major pirate settlements, but not much else.

@shylarah Also, I've kind of hinted at this in Rodion's prologue, but T'sarae as a nation has never been particularly religious. There has only ever been one church in Cero, and so historically, T'sarae has never had warpriests or anything resembling the Varyan or Lanostran inquisitor. They did have a clergy, but they never actually held sway over the governance of the country like they do in other nations. These clergymen were the ones put to death by Varya after T'sarae surrendered, and due to their lack of influence, it wasn't really a huge deal.

As for Muraad, it's always been a fractured land where different clans ruled over separate territories. Over the centuries, there have been "chieftain" figures who've managed to unite the clans, but their reigns never lasted long enough to be of historical note.

Also, wow, I've written 20,681 words for the IC of this RP so far, which is more than I've written in years. I hadn't written any fiction in ages before starting this, so I just want to thank you guys for going on this journey with me and making me fall in love with writing again. <3

@Lovejoy it's surprising how much a prolific rper can crank out, innit? I think this was one of my big ones through december -- certainly I did a lot of words here. And in a side story or two.

Well I mean, I didn't.

Unfortunately, though, I'm no neuronecrosurgeon, so it'll mostly be just a mindless, moving corpse.

While we're on the subject of necromancy, I figured I'd give the rhetorical question in Draken's sig an answer since it's been bugging me for a while actually :P

At least as far as pathfinder canon goes if you're on Golarion (which is my familiarity, I assume that D&D runs vaguely similar), necromancy is not strictly evil - there are many spells, like speak with dead, which do not involve actually raising dead, and don't piss off Pharasma (basically hades). The reason that raising dead is specifically evil, looking beyond the moral factors that exist on the mortal plane, is that you literally are bringing everyone closer to the heat death of the universe when you do it.

So pretty much, Pharasma has this gigantic line of souls of people not dedicated to a god that she has between her plane and a god called Groetus. when you raise a soul from the dead, you run a good chance of pulling someone from that line, since creating undead (even unintelligent undead) draws the soul back to the body. Why is that bad? well, when Pharasma runs out of souls in that line, she runs out of souls to feed to Groetus. This pisses Groetus off, and he initiates the end times. Sorta a Ragnarok deal, ya know.

I'm sure everyone cared :V

@The Angry Goat Well, though I am relatively new to DnD, my understanding is that you're not too off of the mark. So long as you don't thin the line between life and death (i.e, bringing souls back from the dead) and do nothing to anger gods of the Grave (the overseers of said line), it's not inherently evil. Clerics can use Necromancy, for one.

@The Angry Goat, for that specific setting, yes! But if you just start from the baseline of "necromancy exists," you have a lot of very important questions. For instance, is there an afterlife it interferes with? Do bodies have any differences from (or advantages over) golems? How effectively can they be controlled, and what do they do when uncontrolled? Etc.

@Draken

>over golems
THANK YOU! Shiara from another rp is a dark mage -- or rather, a bone mage -- and she draws a very firm distinction between golems and raising the dead. Although it's a bit more blurry because she uses the souls of dead things to craft golems.

Imagine my disappointment when as a young lady I discovered that the definition of necromancy wasn't, in fact, falling in love with undead beings like zombies/vampires. :(

Anyway, post will be 100% done by tomorrow. Just have a bit more to go, but right now I need sleeeep. Also, @deathbringer, I'll have a PM for you afterwards.
