Anyone up for dinosaur planet?

We're still designing it, but I think what we have right now is mostly post-meteor dinoplanet + destroyed/salvageable tech from a previous humanoid occupation.

That said, you do you. The planet is supposed to be defined by the participants to an extent.

i wanna make a character native to the planet, but not a dinosaur, a humanoid (possibly with dino traits tho)

is there majik on dino planet or is it like totally mundane, no technology, no magic, no anything, just straight up jurassic planet

There's not an awful lot of magic, so far. A humanoid local would likely be left over from the now-ruined colonies on the surface. The main narrative involves a high-tech conservation group establishing a base on the planet in order to protect and heal the damaged ecosystem- that's us.

Natives are cool. Cambria isn't totally uninhabited, even by sapients. It's just not considered colonized anymore.

In case any of you were wondering, we're almost ready to start rolling. The group name is Cambria Conservation Front (check Sig's sig), and we're pretty much ready to start adding characters, so let us know if you have any ideas or suggestions.

Sweet, I've been really waiting to sink my teeth into this one! I have a ton of down time at work so this will be a good one to fill the time.

Also, I've been hesitant to ask this, but I'll go just go ahead here: What is Expanding Horizons anyway? Is it based off of a book/game/movie or is it something totally community-built here? It seems way cool, but I tried to figure it out on my own through Google and what I found doesn't really compute right across to this particular subject.

It is totally community-built. It's an original setting, not lifted from any pre-existing works of fiction (so far as I'm aware).

@Riddiskel It's just a loose setting the moderation came up with for Guild members to start writing a persistent world in. You can check the FAQ for details.

So basically all the characters and settings written up and played out in this subforum belong in the same universe and could potentially run into each other. It hasn't been as popular as expected, but it's still a nice enough place to pick up eclectic characters in.

In the interest of not running afoul of the Rule of Five, I'd like to get a few more participants...unless @Circ wants to grant some kind of exemption.

Not sure what our options are for doing what we want to do without a full group.
