Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes, huh? I'll have to check that out, thanks! I'm pretty settled on a Tiefling Monk, though not yet sure on subrace/subclass. Figured that since I've wanted to try both, why not combine them? :P

Look's like we could use a rogue, cleric or warrior type. We have a good amount of mages. Monk and Pali are good fighters, Pali has some healing. I dont know about 5e but Bards used to have some rogue skills. I think I'll play my Changeling rogue/Cleric

I can also make sure I have Cure Light Wounds prepared if we need more healing. I'm going to for sure be playing my paladin, have the sheet mostly filled out except for all the personality stuff because I'm awful at that and just like playing it out way better

War Wizards get access to all sorts of damage spells.

What sort of alignments types of persons are your characters?
Our tortle is currently sitting at Lawful Neutral, but that isn't set in stone yet.

The lawful good paladin and the chaotic evil rogue probably won't mesh well, for example.

I was assuming no one would be evil per se, since--- I'm the first person to say I live for character conflict, but killing each other goes a bit beyond. Maybe a Lawful Evil could work? Given enough reason to behave.

I'm really undecided with my Tiefling Monk. If I go the more roguish route (Way of The Shadow/Glasya), probably Chaotic Neutral. If I go with a 'looks evil but actually, u know, a good monk how dare you assume things. he/she is trying really hard to repent' (Sun Soul/Zariel) then probably anything from Lawful Good to Chaotic Good. And I really digged Way of the Long Death, whatever that entails...

In short: no clue yet.

But I'm also curious about the alignments, so seconding that question.

if people are considering CG then LN is probably a bad idea... They are incredibly frustrated by CGs...

Chaotic Good: Possibly one of the most frustrating alignments to get along with of the lot. They just don't think. Or even contemplate that maybe that sign that says "You can't park there" was there for a reason other than bloodyminded bureaucratic fiat. While there's just a hint of perhaps some sort of habit-ish behaviour in their obsession with unlocking birdcages and grabbing purses off fat men in expensive clothes, they just don't have any regard for the downstream consequences or the sodding inefficiency caused when you unleash thousands of slaves on an unprepared economy. These guys have probably been responsible for more deaths in our alignment pool than any other, save Chaotic Evil.

CN on the other hand? that can be worked more easily with.

Chaotic Neutral: The lawful and chaotic sides of the neutral coin have more in common than might initially be thought. Lawful Neutral can at least respect the Chaotic Neutral's courage of their convictions; adherence to a code is a fundamental part of a Lawful Neutral's life, and while it's a made-up, internal code that just throws away all the good work and thinking that went into the law and traditions they rebel against, at least the Chaotic Neutral believes in something. It is also encouraging, to say the least, that their convictions are not anchored to tired old memes of good and evil. Chaotic Neutral thinks for itself, which is laudable; all we have to do now is demonstrate that somebody already thought of what they did and figured out how to do it in a more orderly fashion.

^ I'd say that level of clashing of personalities is just part of the fun - and it's not as though our characters are only their alignments. Or that's how I see it, anyway.

I mean, we have been a group for a while, so we do get along to a degree anyway. But that doesn't mean there can't be some clash of views from time to time. Long as no one dies, ha.
