Strange new Pokemon Form by Professor Marcus Gosler

Chapter 5: Salazzle Matriarch Form

As common as they are in Galar and Aloha, Salazzle who can access a special form known as Matriarch Form are extremely rare, almost on par with pokemon we consider to be Legendary or Mythical.
Matriarch Salazzles are the most powerful Form of Salazzle but there only ever one at anytime, Matriarch give off an aura of pure majesty and power often being a golden yellow glow, that makes other pokemon almost want to bow in her presence. Their marking cover most of their body and their fire is hotter then any other fire type. They are also stronger and more resilient to pain.

Unlike their brethren, who seek to make an harem of Salandits. Matriarch don't have that drive, instead they seek out one partner who they will then attract and spend their life with.
Unlike normal means, A Matriarch partner can be male or female, its said that the partner they choose, they are always very affectionate to them, such as hugging them or giving them a soft nuzzle on their cheek, their partner often acts the same way around them, showing a true form of love between them.

However when angered by something threatening their partner or their partner is unfaithful, will a Matriarch truly show her true raw power. Their marking will spread over their bodies and they will get taller, close to the height of a Totom Pokemon of Aloha. Their scales will become a brilliant white, something quite close to a shiny Salazzle, and their marking will become multicoloured as both an intimidation factor and a true show of power. They will also grow a crown atop their head, though it seems to closer resemble that of Tribal headdress used in the past.
When in this form, Matriarch Salazzle have all their stats boosted by 20% and are more violent then normal. It's says that only its Mate can calm it down in this form but, if the Mate is the one who caused her this pain, it's ill advised to be the one to try and calm her down unless they truly feel guilty for what they did.

So just to give a little more context, since Hibiki and Gileta had grown up toguther in the poucher base, the two always had a very close relationship. Even before Gileta showed signs of having the Matriarch Form. She always consider Hibiki her closest and dearest friend, since they shared a familer personality and were often affectionate to each other to support another after whatever Experment they endured that day.

To Gileta, Hibiki personality change and form change have changed what she loved about her. While she never directly said it, Gileta loved Hibiki dearly and wanted her to be her mate but because of the situation they were in and the fear of losing her, she could never pluck up the courage to ask her. Right now, She blames Chuck for Hibiki change, epically since she feels Hibiki has basically lost who she was, since she's now closer to an Ice Queen instead of the affectionate girl that she was before.
While Gileta would never directly tell Chuck that he's to blame and she hates him for what he did to Hibiki, she will make it clear she does not like him as much anymore.

The way I see it, Hibiki still feels the same, she's just not as good showing it anymore. In a way, you could say she's grown up, not quite as childish anymore.

Makes sense to me, Matriarch are less about a more physical relationship and more so about just general love and affection, the occasional nuzzle or kiss. If Hibiki was Gileta mate, it does not change their relationship too much. Gileta would just be the more open and affection one, while Hibiki would be the Tsundere who trys to act cool but blushes whenever her girlfriend starts teasing her.

Usually yes, but seeing as Sonia takes over, and Magnolia is already stated to live somewhere else, that isn't the case this time.

Sonia takes over about midway though the game if memory serves, its ether the first or second visit to Hammerlocke.

Near the end actually, after you collect all the badges. Though it doesn't matter, since Magnolia already lives away from the lab at the beginning of the game.

Really? I was sure it was earlier then that. Eh, it's been a long time since I played Sword and Shield. I think I finished CT but just never caught all the legendary in the max adventure.
