So, I've been a player in quite a few D&D games. I've seen DMs in action. I've seen my fair share of memes and guide videos on how running a game is much more challenging than simply playing one. But even so I'd like to have a go at it, and I'm inviting you, my fellow Guild members, to watch my game either crash and burn or be pretty alright by first time DM standards.

If any of you are feeling brave though, you may also participate in the game yourself as a player. Should you find yourself interested in such a thing, make ready a 3rd level character and prepare to adventure in a hastily cobbled together world controlled by someone who doesn't have much experience in controlling an entire world.

I'll throw my hat in for this. What kind of setting are you looking at?

As a forever DM irl, I'd be willing to try my hand at PBP 5e.

I not entirely sure just yet.

As a first time DM who doesn't 100% know what they're doing, I'd be very eager to have you.

@rush99999 If you want my advice, don't worry about controlling and making an entire world at first. I would say to get the hang of things, keep it simple. It can be a straight forward and linear dungeon crawl for everyone to get the hang of things. By keeping your scope limited you also limit how much things can go off beat or stray too far from your plan. Have a straight forward dungeon dive or similarly self contained somewhat isolated intro, see where that gets you and then you could expand from there.

Are you going to allow UA material or legal only?

That would depend on the Arcana that you want to Unearth.

I'll wait till you decide your world setting and game. But there is no certain UA race I've been dying to play. If that doesn't work, I've got pleanty of ocs to fit most settings and groups.

If anyone has any preferences regarding what sort of setting they'd like to adventure in, feel free to make them known. I will say right now though that this game will probably be happening in a setting of my own design rather than in any of the official settings. The only one I'm well read on is Ravenloft, but I'd rather run something a tad brighter than what the Domains of Dread would allow.

I've been desperate for a 5e campaign for a while, so I'll tentatively throw in my interest - which will vary based on the setting decided upon.

I'm going to be real and say that I don't know any of the canon settings that well. I've always used homebrew settings personally so I don't fuck up actual lore

As for what kind of adventure, I would be fine with a straight forward A to B quest. No need to weave something like Game of Thrones with a ton of moving parts and intrigue between fifteen different peoples and factions.

I've got the makings of a simple quest in my head and I believe there is enough interest to get the wheels turning in earnest.

IC thread incoming.
