Also known as conflict avoidance. The illusion of control when you've already lost it.

I talk to mods and admins off site. Some understand better. Others are stupid enough to ignore the danger.

I want to be clear on this one. It's costs people their sanity and lives. A lot of people suffer in silence. I lost someone to suicide over a decade ago myself. Had to learn from it.

User to user: That gets some more leeway. People can talk things out.

Mods that abuse power: Different matter. Excuses for lack of communication does more harm and damage. People just might not see it. Censorship is hiding the truth.

It just takes holding conversations. It's a clear cut matter of communication vs lack of communication. Misunderstnadings will happen. Better to accept that and be prepared. Pretend people have to be perfect and that's the problem. That's the simplest way I can put it. In terms that people here can understand.

Just let people be flawed more. Is all I can really say.

Online censorship and excuses for lack of communication. With online on a whole.

Once people go "Fuck off" then what do you think that teaches people? Abusive mods (from various sites) teach that to people. Who then do it to others. It's gotten so normalized. Where lack of communication is treated as the norm.

End result? People suffering in silence and living in fear. Where concerns are behind backs instead of in faces.

Sites with high traffic will struggle the most. Discord at least has vent rooms on servers. Why can't people be their flawed selves all the time though?

The above is just to get people thinking. The next one I'd like an answer too though.

Who do you think is more aware of the danger, the person paying attention to it or the one turning a blind eye?

For context have you ever seen a cop be stupid enough to ignore? Mods aren't trained enough. That's just the simple fact of the matter.
