So I just found out that the bill for one blood test here in good old America is almost 1400 dollars (without insurance, of course)--2 to 400 more than the maximum, in, say, Canada.

For the amount of time they go to medical school and the lives they save, they deserve it. Like I said, you can take the Canada route that you did, but you'll die waiting. And based on what are they expensive, other than your perception of how much they should cost?

The procedure for testing the blood. Taking the blood is simple enough, and I consider that each individual test couldn't possibly be so complex or resource-heavy as to warrant up to two to three hundred dollars.
