Great. The concept is cool—my main question is how the character will make use of this interactive medium. Because MR is dialogue-based rather than paragraph-based, pretty much everything is either conversation or action, and I'm trying to envision how the living dimension would either speak or take some kind of action that interacts with other members of the cast. I think it's something that easily could be done, but if it's your only point of interaction with the RP, you may find it a bit limiting.

>I was mainly thinking via avatar or telepathy/remote viewing or scrying directed through portals. Not future sight or pre-cog, just seeing things that aren't immediately present. Beyond that on a larger scale I'm thinking said dimension could interact with whatever environment is around it through perceiving spacetime fluctuations, gravitational disturbances, quantum phenomena, etc.

>The pfp I currently have for my profile I'm thinking could serve as a representation of the dimension's actual avatar, although it is a tad... surreal.

Surreal is fine and an avatar would work great. No qualms on my end.

That’s our Kyle

You could probably make use of limited bandwidth that a dimension can transmit if you wanted to figure out things in combat. Somehow it harnesses a fragment of its power to manifest attacks in other realms.

>That's a good idea. Maybe something like energy transmitted or even attacks based around something like Metric Engineering. Or just spatial attacks/telekinetic effects limited to something on the level of the Endbringer Behemoth's Dynakinesis.

>Metric Engineering is spacetime engineering or weaponry. Dynakinesis is just energy manipulation.

I'm also going to apologize in advance for not checking the OOC as often as I should. I'm usually pretty quick about the IC. What do spacetime devices look like?

>Depends on the sci-fi setting. In the case of the place I got the term from, Orion's Arm, generally they're like cannons or emplacements or a bomb that sends disturbances through the skein of spacetime, effectively disintegrating anything within a certain range as their atomic structures are like, decoupled.

>As for what they'd look like in the case of a sapient dimension... well I've no idea. I kind of just had it in mind to have the manipulation of spacetime on a localized scale outside of the dimension's interior be an effect created directly by its avatar.

I think that'd be reasonable. Definitely wouldn't be out of place in MR.

>I don't think I'd have it be able to stop time, however. More just weaponized effects. As far as its interior space goes though, I'd say skies the limit in terms of what it can do, though none of the changes it makes can't be overcome by particularly skilled or capable beings that may have gotten transported inside. Provided they have the means and conflict goes that far anyway.

When you say interior space, you mean inside of the sentient dimension itself?

Even going so far as to make it escapable when someone ends up inside. I like the way you think

>Yeah. I mean it is just a dimension with intelligence. While someone who has no knowledge of dimensional travel nor powers or tools might be stuck until it opens a portal to let them out, someone with those things could escape. Whether they could do so easily or not depends on their knowledge and skill versus the dimension's, not accounting for sheer power differences of course.

Right right. Trying to escape the dimension's watchful eye and figure out how to portal out could make for a cool puzzle arc. I'm a fan of cosmic horror stuff, so the idea already appeals to me.

>Naturally we'd need to figure out why one would need to escape to begin with, as Aurus as I've decided to call it, won't actually be much of an antagonistic threat.

Of course of course. And all in due time. We've got to come up with a way to get him onboarded.
