What about the hair? Any specific comments?
Legend said
Nope. I like it.

You know what? You guys have never heard my actual accent. The one I had before I switched to British. David, we should totally record a video some time for that.
Legend said
After I get my laptop back from the shop. But what do you mean "switched?"
Balance said
I just decided to use a different accent.
Legend said
No offense, but that's kind of strange. Like, it sounds like it's get super awkward.
Balance said
Nope. Although I can switch back if someone wants me to.
Legend said
What did your parents say when you started?
Balance said
They liked it just fine. It's interesting. Well, now it's just normal.
Legend said
Huh. If I had a kid, I wouldn't let them do that.
Balance said
why

I think it'd actually make me pretty mad if they did. Like, nothing against you, but in my eyes, using an unnatural accent is like abandoning your culture and saying that you want to be someone you aren't. Like you're turning your back on your relatives and ancestors, toward people you don't truly know. I can't really explain it, but it would just bother me too much. That's the best reasoning I can gather for what I'd feel in that situation.

Canada is both British and French born. British accent is going back to roots (although my mum's side is Filipino and my da's is Dutch, but still)
Legend said
But still. You're not British, and you don't exist in a country where everyone speaks in a British accent. It would be more understandable, but unless most of everyone you talk to has a British accent, it would feel like a culture betrayal to me.

Hmm.

Hm?
