Comment on Genres - This can really go in any direction, so the selected genres are not in any way limiting.

This RP is based on an OldGuild roleplay GMed by ActRaiser. I would very much like to bring it back.
The concept is very simple, if you have roleplayed a deity before, or if you have always wanted to, then this is the RP for you.

The RP is set against the backdrop of an old world, which was utterly destroyed for reasons unknown. Invictus has created a new universe in place of the old and summoned new gods. The new world can hardly be called a ‘world’ at all. There is nothing. Only darkness – if even that. It awaits the coming of the new gods. They will create – or perhaps, recreate? – life, and this universe in their image and to their will and desire. Magic, living creatures, nations, heroes and villains; they do as they wish, for they are gods.

However, they must remember that the gods of the old world were also gods, and they are now gone. To where is unknown, but two remain. One is a mighty being, an ultimate force, far above the might of any newly risen god, known simply as Invictus. The other is Fate, whose exact function is a mystery. These two act as guardians of the new world, and though they are not occupied with the happenings in the new world and its new gods, they are part of the mystery of this world and the old. What they guard the new world against is unknown, but guardians they are.
They can be approached for favours and powers, and how a god does so must be explored during game play (you certainly can’t just waltz up to them ;P). These two may even be challenged – but as things are, any challenge to them, even should the new gods unite, will certainly be crushed. It will take a long time before such a thing can be considered, if you wish to consider it (if this roleplay picks up and gets that far.)

The roleplay will be played out in ‘turns’, each god will have a set level (all start at level 1 and will be able to increase it), and each god will have a set level of ‘Might’ points they can spend per turn to do various things (each god begins with 4 Might and these can be increased in various ways).

It is to be expected that feuds, battles and all out wars may well erupt between gods, and levels will have a good part to play in deciding victors. But so too will writing quality, strategy, player decisions/plotlines and agreements, ‘Khookie points’ and, if necessary, rolls. All will be explained if enough interest is shown.

Looking for dedicated players who want to create something beautiful and have a pocketful - maybe two pocketfuls and all you can cram in hands and mouth/s - of fun!

I'm interested in entering this as a Tyranosaur deity. . . the dragon god. This world's version of Bahamut.

Astarte, Goddess of Summoning, reporting for duty! With quite a few rewrites, of course. This RP's first iteration was sooo long ago!

I'm possibly interested, but I can't promise my involvement; I have a lot on my plate in the accursed real-life. I'm thinking of perhaps a god of fire and change, or maybe water and curiosity.

Most likely water and curiosity. Oh, who am I kidding...definitely water and curiosity. Water was sort of my thing in the old guild, might as well bring it back.

However, it's 1 AM as I write this and, as a result, my mind stopped working a few hours ago. I'll wait until morning before I make a final decision about it.

We meet again, Kho

@HaelHmm...could it be? Stormy?
Edit: Yup, Stormy xD

And great to see so much interest! I've got work today, so won't be able to do much for the next 11 hours or so, but I'll get to work on having an OOC up and explaining some important things as soon as I get back.

Edit II: But just so you can get on with fleshing out any ideas you have for your characters while I'm gone, each god will have a 'domain' and 'portfolios'.
A domain is something wide, for Weather, or Water, or Chaos, or Nature. These are broad and many things can fall within them. A god of Nature would have powers over all things within their domain. However, their powers are more powerfully geared to their 'portfolio', which is a more specific 'domain' of sorts. For instance, a god whose domain is Water may have a Portfolio of Oceans, or Fish etc. A god of Weather may have a Portfolio of Storms, Tempests, Wind etc.

Domain = General, broad
Portfolio = More specific

I hope that makes sense. Lower level gods can have only one domain and one portfolio, but as levels increase one can gain new portfolios, or even domains. All will be explored later.

And a final note, a god is the god of their portfolios rather than their domain (i.e Douglas whose domain is Fear and Portfolio is Wimps - Fear (Wimps) - is the god of Wimps rather than Fear)

That's all! (For now)

Yep, the STORM has returned *dramatic thunder in the distance, a flash of lightning illuminates my face for a brief moment*! There was no way one could get that wrong . I referenced water being my thing and showed a picture of a stormy sea.

Not to mention that my oldguild name is on my profile :)

Also, I'm now certain on my domain being Water.
---
I have a few questions, however. Namely:

How fantasy or realistic is this? I mean, obviously any RP where the players are literal gods has a fantastical element, but what is the standard on things like magic, elves, obsession with the number 3, dwarves, and so on?

Is there a time-pace on this? Is every move a set number of years/centuries, or is that all up to us or the GM?

Did you really guess who I was, or did you just go to my profile?

As we play will the more intelligent beings we create (i.e. humans and the like) be advancing and inventing as a real civilization inevitably does? Or is the aforementioned time-pace too slow on that?

Or do you not know?

I assuming you'll explain Might and such in greater detail eventually, so I'll leave my questions at that. Know, however, that I have the secret to gaining ultimate power in my hands and, most importantly, in my heart.

As I have ten minutes to kill, I'll answer your questions.

With regards to fantasy/realism, it is completely in the hands of the players. While very unlikely, if you all meet up and decide you want to create as realistic a world as possible, it's your call. My experience was more of the 'jump right in, gremlins from the start, Warrior-Prophets, epic showdowns between chaos/nature/underground spider things etc. And the elves were living with their god in some secluded misty forest somewhere'.

With regards to in game time, this is obviously a very different kind of RP and the concept of time works very differently for gods. I don't like turning everything into statistics as I prefer things to be more fluid, and this is my approach to time. A post may well-involve the creation of the universe - stars, galaxies etc. - which would, in human terms, take many billions of years. For gods, it takes as the time you spend writing it. You don't need to specify that X number of years has passed, there is an implication that it has taken a long time in human years, but time is so insignificant to the gods that they need not even operate within its framework (strangely enough, my character will be a god of time/space, great to know I'm insignificant xD)
As this is an RP where you will probably take control of what you create, time will of more significance for those, but you can explore that in-game (one of my creations back in the old game was immortal but could age, I had him sitting on a hill for 100 years, it was pretty interesting to explore his feelings of abandonment, betrayal, being neglected, self-realisation etc.) So, to make a long story short, the time pace is what is most convenient for each individual post, keeping in mind the pace of the post you're replying to etc. Hope that makes sense. If it does become a very pressing concern in-game, we'll work out a more convenient system, but free and fluid was nicer and worked well in my experience.

Yes, I really did guess who you were. Then I checked your profile. It was pretty easy since I was trying to hunt you down yesterday but couldn't find you.

Yes, creations will advance, but only with intervention. For instance, Ug the Hunter-Gatherer Caveman will continue to be Ug the Hunter-Gatherer Caveman until you are kind enough to teach him agriculture and farming. You may want to teach your chosen creations concepts such as honour, dignity, loyalty. You may imbue them with great intellect and grant them magical abilities etc. You may turn them into mindless beasts with the sole purpose of finding the next bit of meat (indeed, we had a bit of a gremlin infestation from the very beginning of the last game, causing our poor Ug's a great deal of death, suffering and other mindlessly cruel things)

Edit: Yup, Might and the rest will all be explained, worry not ;)

Seek, and I shall appear! You searched for the stormy sea, and a storm there will be!

But joking aside, thanks for the answers. I think I have a clearer picture of what, exactly, is going on now. It certainly sounds very interesting, so I doubt I'll allow my interest to phase out as it does with the majority of RPs I initially express interest in.

It wasn't mindless! Vestec had a clear goal and plan while he was sending cities into chaos, creating monsters, corrupting great heroes, and plant people into the desert!
