You could. It just eats up more of your spare time. The less time one spends putting magic into an individual, the more haphazard and limited their ability to use it will be.

Okay, so we all have our own realms, correct? So let's just say my charater would want to take his followers into his realm would they have to build a big ass dimensional portal or just require his blessings to enter into his realm with him.

Being able to jump planes on their own needs a bit of investment, but your character can do it quickly and easily, and take numerous humans with them. Portal construction depends on size. One large enough to allow access for a tank could take hours.

Also when the character sheet comes would we have to post a pic of what the realms would look like once they become more in tuned with said god?

Nope. They all start out as an empty grey waste. If you feel like your written descriptions as the roleplay progresses aren't sufficiently getting the vibe across, you can post a pic in the OOC thread.

Furthermore when creating a construct would fusing a human animal take shorter time then just adding them to a human or is it faster vise versa.

Not sure if the question is about 'fusing a human to an animal' or 'creating a human with animal traits'. It's faster to fuse animals to humans, though you'll still need to edit them to mesh properly (bird wings are built to attach to bird shoulders and support the relatively light weight of a bird), but remember that this is an enormous city- Outside of pests, pets, and zoos, there aren't many animals around. Creating an animal from scratch and then fusing it to a human takes more time than just granting those traits to a human.

Minor update since I keep naming the city 'the city' all the time: Its actual name will be Avernale.

If my character wanted to do something like, create a city of super humans, how long would it take to build up enough power to do it?

Power isn't 'built up', so to speak. You can only exercise a limited amount at one moment of time, so you'd have to put together the city one piece at a time. If you consider that it takes an hour or so to make a decent but nowhere near record-breaking high rise building, building an entire modern city would take weeks, easily, if you include all the infrastructure and removing any constructions that are already there. Better to reappropriate and edit the buildings in Avernale.

If the PC gods can't create souls, what can?

Is there an even more powerful type of god? And if so is it actually a different thing from the types of gods we are to play as? Or is it something that only ancient gods can do or some other factor that alters the type of god we would be playing? Or is there some other specialized deity or force that cannot do anything else but create souls?

Edit: Or is it the Godeater? Does that thing actually tear apart the essence of a god and convert the scraps of such a broken divinity into the souls of the unborn?

This is very philosophical. Perhaps there are only so many souls in existence at one time. Perhaps only those who specialize in creating life can make souls. Perhaps all the gods must pool their powers to create a single soul. Perhaps a god must have more power than we can achieve in order to create a soul.

If souls exist in this game, what do they do? What functions does not having a soul prohibit, and what function that we think are done by the brain are actually done by the soul? In addition, how does the soul interact with reality, and how can it be observed? If I created a perfect copy of a living brain and put it in a perfect copy of the corresponding body, what would be the result? What is the soul made of? Do souls significantly vary? Where are they stored in the body, or where are they physically when attached to a thing?

Souls aren't a very scientifically solid concept. Like everything else here, they're a gameplay mechanic, a resource. They develop in the brain of their original bearer, but once they're severed from the mortal by magic or death, they can take on the same functions by themselves, without needing the physical infrastructure of a brain but still needing some kind of host entity (if you're cruel, you can give eyes to a rock and plant a soul in it to watch it suffer in boredom for the next million years). A mortal with their soul removed, or one created without a soul, has a brain, but won't use it- They'll die or go comatose. It can only be interacted with by magical means, and until severed, it occupies no space and can only be sort of sensed by a god- Not seen or heard or smelt. Once they're severed they just sort of sit around like a bubble or cumulus cloud or pile of translucent goop, small enough to be picked up with both hands but pretty amorphous. They dissipate unpredictably when not in a host, disappearing suddenly after anything from a few minutes to a few hours, but can be sustained by a god (pickled, as it were) to last longer.

Speaking of pair production, how hard would it be for a deity to make some antimatter? I would figure if we can make a skyscraper in an hour or two, we could make a pile of protons with their chirality swapped over without too much difficulty, if we really wanted to fuck everything up. Even excepting antimatter, though, I know you say we can create an explosion, but it seems like it would be much more time-efficient to just make a skyscraper of tnt, or your regional equivalent, and light a match.

You could try that, but the process of producing something with that much potential to destroy complexity would trip off every other god's Bai Suzhen Sense, also known as their ohfuckometer, whether they're nearby or in the mortal plane or not.

Name: Kaeryn Elbe, She/her.

Age: 17.

Personality: Until recently a meticulous student, Kaeryn has a tendency to see challenges where none have been issued and seize them with both hands, even though they often develop into frustration rather than the smug satisfaction she thrives on. Kaeryn has few aspirations of her own, being like many teenagers still confused about her future career path, but has well-established ideals elsewhere and will debate them thoroughly and ardently. She maintains a ready confidence that almost never gives way to arrogance, though Kaeryn's self-esteem is still far from infallible. Typically generous where she can afford to be, she does have a well established base of friends with whom she interacts enthusiastically, though she's well known to get along with adults, or function independently for long stretches of time.

Interests: Kaeryn keeps herself busy with studies, both for her school and personal enjoyment of learning. She has vaguely considered pursuing a career in medical science or microbiology as her school career comes to an end, and occasionally attends open university lectures to test the waters. Her personal interests are also chiefly related to the life sciences, particularly the history of their pursuit and speculation of what might have been. Her walls are postered with art of hypothetical species and old hoaxes. She enjoys travelling to art galleries, but doesn't consider herself to have an eye for crafting anything noteworthy herself. Her determination has made her a capable boxer, and she sees no harm in spectating a good fight. She has strong views on pet ethics.

History: Firstborn to a single but enormously talented mother, Kaeryn was raised to take on the world with more vigour than she could afford. After a wildly popular lower childhood, she entered high school with expectations of much of the same. Towards the halfway mark of her last year, however, a recurring lung infection has been causing her grades to dip and her boxing to discontinue. Knowing that her ability to keep up with her own burgeoning expectations of herself are deteriorating has recently caused her to sink into anxiety. Kaeryn refuses to stop trying, though she is doing herself no favours.

Appearance: Moderately tall, even for a teenager, at about 170 centimetres, with a solid build- Soft enough to cuddle, but sporting more than enough muscle weight to box most other students out of the hypothetical ring. Short, dark hair is kept in a curly pixie cut. Fairly dark skin around a set of matching eyes and a pierced nose. She keeps herself neat, and is easily mistaken for an adult. Usually sports a school uniform with ornamentation coming mostly in the form of numerous bracelets, as she was doing on her last mortal day.

I'm going to be stopping you at one unless you want to play a non-deified human as well as a deified one. If you do, you'll have to latch them onto the others really strongly to keep them relevant.

Playing normal humans is acceptable by the way guys. You just need to find some way to keep them involved. Maybe they're part of the police force trying to cope with a situation that's way over their heads, or a friend of one of the characters, or someone with access to lots of money or a celebrity or whatever. They are allowed to be changed by the gods, with or without their permission (though it takes longer if they don't consent).

Name: George Marshall

Age: 19

Personality: Before his ascension, George was a fun-loving, studious college student. He worked part-time at the school newspaper, made friends and enjoyed his time day-to-day without much worry. He was eager to chase women, with mixed success, and had a core of good friends and an expansive body of friendly acquaintances. He is still highly competitive in everything he does, though fortunately learned at a young age the myriad benefits of sportsmanship and courtesy. He still has a dislike for authority, a strong distaste towards dogmatic beliefs and a lack of open-mindedness, and respects free thought and innovation. He is quick to laugh, and a temper to balance. He is direct, and dislikes beating around the bush in most things. He is always quick to act, preferring to trust his improvisational skills when a problem arises rather than make plans that fall apart at the first unforeseen hurdle. Despite this, in every individual task he does he strives for perfection, sometimes at his detriment, often to his advantage. He considers himself a utilitarian, and judges actions intellectually on the grounds of greatest possible good, but like every human, especially every college sophomore, he often compromises his beliefs for hedonistic reasons. A result of this philosophical position is that he has become rather frugal, to an almost detrimental degree, always searching (or imagining) a better value around the corner. He is, however, not unaware of his failings: George rightfully prides himself on understanding himself, and strives for self-improvement constantly, with typically varying success. George is a paranoid man, and despite his propensity for quick action he spends a great deal of his free time thinking about possible dangers, real or imaginary. He is slow to trust friends, despite the speed at which he makes them, and truly opens up to very few people. He has, currently unbeknownst to him, an affection for power and control, not only for its ability to enable him to do good, but for its ability to assuage his paranoia and let him direct things the way he finds satisfactory.

Interests: He is a military man, through and through. He isn't brave enough to actually fight, not really, but he has a fascination and an excellent knowledge of military matters. He finds history fascinating, especially as it pertains to military matters, and he always tries to not only learn about the intriguing secrets of the past but to apply them to himself in his quest for self-improvement. His hobby, besides engaging in the college social life, is firearms. He loves them, both for their practical applications in protecting himself and acting as a salve for his paranoia, and also just as objects, in the same way someone may love cars or trains (interests George has just never understood, really). He owned several firearms, before his death, and frequently shot with friends and family.

History: Born in rural New Hampshire to moderately wealthy parents, George had a normal life. He went to a good school, made friends, and earned good enough grades to be accepted into a competitive college. He spent his free time playing sports, socializing with his peers, surfing the internet, and reading prolifically. He had a string of short-lived relationships, truncated not by any particular drama but just changing personalities and the tribulations of high-school, and later college, life. He worked part time at a gun store, a job he lauded over his peers who were being paid minimum wage to flip burgers. His quirks arose slowly through his life: like most deep-rooted personality traits, he had no specific triggering event. He was always paranoid, encouraged by his family's old house and his status as an only child. His quest for self-improvement is likely a result of a competitive edge and his parent's insistence on the idea that anyone, if they work hard enough, can achieve great things. His love of firearms and matters military is much more easily traced, to his Great-Uncle, who would not only spoil him rotten for the decade before he died of pancreatic cancer, but would take him shooting on the expansive family property.

Appearance: George is tall and thin. His brown hair varies wildly, cycling from a buzz cut to an untidy nest of hair as he procrastinates getting a haircut. His eyes are wide and brown, his skin tanned several shades darker than its normal pasty complexion. He tries to remain fit, finding that a light jog is an excellent way to dissolve stress, and a good way to let him sate his smoldering paranoia. He has a wide smile that he wears frequently. He dresses in business casual wherever he goes, preferring a casually-worn button up to a t-shirt. He has bad posture, partially a result of his height and a desire to remain near the level of his peers, and partially because of unadulterated laziness. He walks quickly, and frequently catches himself whistling or humming to himself, a habit he wishes he could quit, but so far has not been able to. He is attentive when listening, subdued when silent, and animated when talking on subjects that interest him. He has a personality that alters between blending in and filling the room, and he has learned when to do either, at least among his own peers.

...What? None of them were anywhere near all powerful in the first place. That was never the intention. They can also interfere with one another's creations- No way to immunise yourself to that (other than implanting souls into things that consent to your own meddling and no one else's, but even then, that will only slow the process). Hell, it's probably impossible to even create something that they can't un-create, because they can only spend finite time on creating something anyway.
