So uhm, it's been 4 days without a response in any way from [@Thesurvivor] not in the PM's, not in the site I intended to use for the collaboration post, nor here. How much longer you guys reckon I wait? And how do I deal with it, since my character is IC talking to him?

To keep post momentum, write his character being pulled away on some other emergency and freeing up your character

This is by no means finished yet, and I still need to work on the Thousand Suns as well, expect much editing as I change ideas around and such because science.

Name – Sao Yun
Species - Besalisk
Gender - Male
Age - 49
Occupation – Gang Lord

Appearance

Standing at just shy of two and a half metres, Sao Yun is an imposing figure, his girth aiding to that effect as is common of his species. With the same contrasting light and dark beige skin, his bony crest is painted black, and his eyes are tinted with violet, and unusual trait in his people. He has several scars that run the length of his back, and two cut diagonally across his face, as well as an obvious carbon scoring mark against the bony crest.

Apparel – With segmented plates of durosteel covering his torso, groin and thighs, with a simple dark grey shirt and dark colored trousers underneath, and his arms and legs sectionally covered with the same durosteel, he adds to imposing presence with the look of a warrior. He has a belt that has four holsters for his weapons of choice, as well as two sheaths that criss-cross over his back, and has a wrist-mounted computer integrated into his forearm guard.

Weapons – Two DH-17 Blaster Pistols, Two DL-44 Heavy Blast Pistols (All modified, will explain later), Two Jengardin double-bladed vibroblades, extended handles to allow larger hands to grip them.
Equipment – Wrist-mounted computer containing basic information that can be uploaded via terminals, such as maps and location information.

Skills – Adept Businessman – Sao Yun maintains his connections to several Empire-spanning companies, including BlasTech, and can barter with the best of them.

Excellent Marksman – Having spent much of his time on ships going from A to B, Sao Yun learned to fire blasters in the direst of moments, and fed that instinct ever since to become a highly capable marksman.

Adept Swordsman – Having learned the need for close-combat skills, Sao Yun paid for the best mentors he could, and learned from two Jengardin Millennial Guards in the art of their weapons. While not a master of the weapons, he is more than capable to hold his own with them.

Flaws – Lack of Language – Like most of his species, Sao Yun only really understands Basic and Besalisk

Scarred – Due to the locations of some scars, Sao Yun has limited movement in one of his arms

Hatred of Hutts – Due to the betrayal of the Hutt known as Lisso, Sao Yun holds a deep hatred that will see his anger come to the fore in the presence of any Hutt.

Boredom – As with all Besalisks, Sao Yun grows bored easily, and this can effect plans he has laid down for months, or even years in the making, and has been known to leave operations behind to pursue new tasks elsewhere.

Personality – Unconcerned with the more common issues associated in the new Imperial society, Sao Yun comes across as distant and impassioned on anything that does not actively concern him. He has several addictions, drink, and pain suppressors, and a faint view of gambling, as he considers the actions of a gang to be a very large gamble indeed.

Goals – Sao Yun's goals change from day-to-day, week-to-week and year-to-year, he has gone from waging a war on Lisso the Hutt, to building a shell businesses to fund his growing organisation. At the moment, he is focussed on securing a powerbase on Coruscant, what comes after that is anyone's guess.

Backstory – When Sao Yun was a representative of BlasTech, he held an under-the-table agreement with a Hutt known as Lisso, on the world of Ryloth. Lisso's income was based largely on his slavery operations, selling Twi-leks and other races through various off-world contacts, and filling his compounds with enough guards to keep the other Hutts from muscling in on his income. As the regular cartel fights over territory and sources of income spread, Lisso needed bigger blasters to keep his rivals at bay. With a large deal formed with Sao Yun, the majority of which was weapons meant to be handed off to several Imperial training outposts. The deal went smoothly for near four years, until Imperial Intelligence noticed the gaps in regular weapon shipments, sending several agents to learn the true extent of the problem.

When the involvement of Lisso was discovered, he was presented with a choice, expose the BlasTech link, or face Imperial justice. Sao Yun was surprised to find squads of Stormtroopers waiting for him and his compatriots. Of the ten that landed, only three survived, although the Stormtroopers suffered heavy losses as well, enough of them fell that when Lisso's thugs arrived they overwhelmed the last Stormtroopers and took possession of the last shipment of weapons that Sao Yun had brought with him, and the three survivors. As an added insult, Lisso had also claimed Sao Yun's wife and two daughters, bringing them to Ryloth and before his new prisoner. Using them as leverage, Lisso forced Sao Yun to fight in his personal fighting pit, facing him off against exotic beasts and other fighters, promising Sao Yun's family's freedom if he survived one hundred fights.

As Sao Yun won his hundredth pit fight, he saw Lisso honor his word in one way. He did indeed grant Sao Yun's family their freedom, by throwing them into a rancor pit, freeing them from their enslavement, and everything else as well. In his rage, Sao Yun cut his way through a dozen thugs to try and reach Lisso, and was only spared a similar fate when another Hutt purchased him for his own fighting pits, taking him to Nal Hutta.

(Up for editing)

It was in this new fighting pit that he met Targhost and Sevastar, two Wookiee brothers who had been enslaved after being captured by Trandoshans during the Clone Wars. As the fights turned to dangerous beast battles again, the wookiees and Sao Yun were thrown into a match against a half-starved pack of nexu, six beasts against two wookiees and a besalisk. During the fight, Sevastar was caught off guard when the nexu he fought threw it's weight upon him, knocking him to the ground, causing him to lose his weapons as he fought to keep the vicious claws from his skin and the powerful jaws from snapping around him. As he fought, a second nexu rushed in to finish him, and had it not been for Sao Yun turning his back upon his nexu to save the wookiee, that is what would've happened, resulting in Sao Yun having the terrible claws of a nexu rake across his back and his lower left arm. The trio fought for near an hour before the last nexu was cast down, impaled upon four duelling blades.

Sevastar gave Sao Yun his life-debt that day, and as the besalisk recovered he found he had two wookiees watching over him from the opportunistic fighters willing to take Lisso's pay to end the besalisk. Gradually, Sao Yun won over more than half the fighters in the pits as he spoke of freedom and revenge, his heart burned for Lisso's death, and Dalgoroth the Hutt wasn't much better, throwing youngsters into the pit against beasts that even grown men would think were from nightmares, it did not take long for them to work a plan of escape.

During one of Dalgoroth's great games, the majority of fighters were put into the pit in order to do a massive fight, with bets going as high as four million credits, Sao Yun gave the signal. All the fighters not in the on the plan felt blades through their bodies in short order, overwhelmed by the sudden alliances between fighters. The second part required the little bit of outside help that Sao Yun managed to achieve, the thug in charge of the gateways into the pits had little love for the Hutt, and seeing a chance to loot the substantial vaults and corpses agreed to open the pit to the upper levels when the first phase was complete. He did not survive to see the second phase finish, as the gateway opened, Targhost rammed his sword through the Wequay's chest, and the pit fighters flooded up into the vast expanse that was Dalgoroth's powerbase. The thugs hired as muscle did not expect such a surge, and many fell to the fighters, some cast their allegiance away, showing themselves as former members of Sao Yun's gun-running crew, secreted into the guards as word of the besalisk's survival spread. Within minutes, the compound was now in Sao Yun's hands, and the Hutt at his mercy. While smaller than Lisso, the Hutt drew Sao Yun's hatred, and a long lingering death, at the hands of his many slaves.

His crew, and new cadre of fighters looted the compound to the full extent, three Darvo-Class Light Freighters in the space-port, and perhaps more importantly to Sao Yun, a small fleet of Multi Altitude Assault Transports, the latest say in military gunships. It seemed Dalgoroth had little trust during his transitions from planet to orbit, his personal shuttle, which Sao Yun looted before selling, was armoured enough to be a gunship in it's own right.

With a small fortune, Sao Yun led his newly acquired flotilla away from Nal Hutta, and into the Outer Rim, for one of the old weapon caches from the Clone Wars. Landing at the old asteroid base of the Confederacy, the deactivated droids provided a vast increase to his fortunes, using the acquired wealth to buy the right connections and information, he started his plan of vengeance against the Hutts. In the space of three years, a dozen Hutts had died under mysterious circumstances, and while the other Hutts were wary, they jumped aboard the chance to expand their power. Including one Lisso.

Having scrapped the cache of weapons, droids and armour from the base, and even selling the base location to a salvager, Sao Yun led his now officially recognised Thousand Suns, most coming from Iego, taking the name from an event during the Clone Wars, the Thousand Moons. His organisation moved quickly into Lisso's powerbase on Ryloth, Imperial forces turned their attention elsewhere as paid off commanders suddenly found information of rebellious locals added to their desk, leaving Lisso alone on a world full of those who despised him. It did not take long for Lisso to find himself under siege, the MAATs were an unexpected force, outpacing the defence lasers, the gunships dropped the hardened pit fighters of Sao Yun into the heart of Lisso's compound, as well as the veteran fighters of several mercenary groups bought by Sao Yun. Lisso's compound fell after thirty-four minutes, and the Hutt was forced into the centre of his own fighting pit.

It is said that Sao Yun tortured the Hutt before killing him, others say that Sao Yun simply opened the rancor gate and watched the Hutt's fate. The only ones who know what happened are the pit fighters of Dalgoroth, who stood in the gantries, watching as their leader exacted his vengeance.

With Lisso dead, and more wealth flooding the Thousand Suns, Sao Yun gave portions of the Suns to his fighting pit brothers and sisters, giving them a target world and an expectation to fulfil. For Sao Yun, he began checking the old locations of CIS caches and even the odd Republic outpost, most had been looted or were not part of the Empire, others had been destroyed by whatever reasons, but it was cache Sigma-Gamma-Nine-Ninty-Two that proved most worthwhile. Finding large numbers of B1 and B2 battle droids, he also gained a complement of Droidekas, a powerful boost for his operations, but these were merely tools for him, what truly made the cache special, was the four IG-100 Magna Guards. With various reprogramming attempts, resulting in two attempting to kill the Thousand Suns around them, the remaining two now view Sao Yun as their charge, and protect him almost as well as the wookiees did, freeing the wookiees for more tasks that bodyguards.

He seems to have diasppered from the site for the time being, so I would recommend just getting yourself out of the collab and continuing it when he comes back. I'm in a few other RP's with him and he ins't responding in those either so.

Say, @HHShetland, do you think you're going to have Dyno end up stopping by Tir's place in your next one? I need to figure out what I intend to do with her at the moment.

My next post wasn't going to involve Dyno at all, unfortunately. That is, back when I wasn't sidetracked by video games. I think I've reached that phase of RP progression where posting slows down significantly. Happens every time.

If the Sirens are the mechvious type they can make Tir compete with Del for the Suns kill.

@frapet I actually have had that idea. Though my thoughts were that it would only occur if a Jedi made themselves known in 3030. I haven't gotten a word from @SuperTacticalDerp in a while, but his character doing something very notable would have possibly triggered that. I like the idea, just would need a reason for an inquisitor to come to the undercity.

Also, one the subject of @The Survivor going away, it might just be best to abandon the collab for now. Figure out something else you can do with your char. Maybe have him get pulled away for some other urgent reason.

@Raz Ajeel I like the character, it looks good. Keep working on it as well the gang he's leading.

@cqbexpt That is something they would consider doing, especially since the issue they sent Del to handle is a pretty big one. If @EliteCommander is interested in doing something like that.

I'll wait for some new posts and then pull my character away from the collab,

And indeed, maybe I will just make a sheet in case a jedi starts acting overtly in 3030, unless you have an interest in playing one yourself!
