Washington's Outcasts

As the Vertibird speeds towards Eldritch IV, the team prepares for the fight. As they put on their armor, Lt. Colonel Washington walks back from the cockpit and smiles at his team. "Alright" he chuckles "You all know the drill, take out any chaos soldiers and personnel, don't fire upon any resistance members, and win the day... Is that understood?" He asks, looking to each member of the team.

"Sir, yes, sir!" They shout, their faces smiling from ear to ear, excited for the battle on the planet below.

"Excellent!" Washington laughs and then turns back to the cockpit and shouts, "SERGEANT, HOW MUCH LONGER UNTIL WE ENTER THE PLANET'S ATMOSPHERE?"

"2 MINUTES, SIR!" Dwaine shouts back.

"Great, well..." Wasington puts on his helmet and grabs his plasma rifle when Major Natalie walks over to him.

"Sir, you say we are aiding the resistance, yet you refuse to join them. How come?" She asks looking at him.

"We are loyal to the American Government and Enclave only. During WWII did the Americans in the Army leave to join the French resistance? No, they fought side by side with them." He says, without even looking at her. "Anyway," he turns back to his team, "I want you to remember, this "Reign of Chaos" is the enemy, it's what we fight to stop. We've seen this before, with Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Mao Zedong, and most recently Chairmain Cheng. We fight for freedom, we fight for democracy, and we fight for the God given rights of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. Now if any of you have any doubts after hearing that, then you don't need to be in this team. So, let's stop these Commie Bastar-"

"SIR," Dwaine shouts from the cockpit, "WE HAVE ENTERED THE ATMOSPHERE. YOU ARE FREE TO JUMP. I'LL BE PROVIDING AIR SUPPORT WITH THE VERTIBIRD!"

"ROGER THAT!" Washington yells back then turns to his team again. "Alright, time to jump!" Washington and the team then all jump out of the Vertibird and as they make contact with the ground it breaks beneath their feet causing a mini earthquake. The team immediately joined in with the resistance forces and began taking down tens of men at a time with the advance technology. As the team began pushing with some resistance, the ground behind them exploded killing some of the rebels, when some one yelled "ARTILLERY!" The team quickly hid in a crater of sand. "DWAINE!" Washington yelled over the comm "could use some help with those batteries over there!"

"Understood, sir" he says. As the team peaks out from the crater they see a Vertibird speed by destroying the batteries.

"COME ON, THE BATTERIES ARE GONE! KEEP PUSHING!" Washingtpn yells. As he begins running, a sudden explosion thrusts him back. As he stands back up, he shoots the man who threw it. "Man," he chuckles "I don't see how these guys have stayed in power for so long with troops like these"

Kid Flash

Wally West tried to keep his head down. Everywhere he looked, the world was burning. A Chaos knight stepped forth from the inferno and summoned his monstrous allies who proceeded to attack the Resistance. The notorious Lieutenant Roy Mustang appeared to be among the foot sloggers, using his immense power to melt the opposition. Walls of earth and stone burst from the ground and gave cover to the ground troops, allowing the grunts to move up and open fire on the charging Reign of Chaos forces. Wally turned his attention back just in time to avoid a barrage of fire from a fire team of Stormtroopers to the southeast. The speedster narrowly dodged around a scarlet demon, who's insides had just been cauterize by a plasma bolt. A glance backwards told Kid Flash that the attacker had been Doomguy. From what Wally had heard, Doomguy was a psychotic space marine who had literally been to Hell and back. Not someone the hero looked forward to meeting; but at least he was on their side, right?

"Woah!" Wally shouted in surprise. The speedster caught himself not paying attention once more. Wally dug his right foot into the sand and shot up a cloud of the stuff into the air, stopping himself from slamming face first into another mech. The giant mechanized robot boosted to the side and knocked Kid Flash off balance in the process. I've been spotted. Kid Flash thought, panicking internally. Move, Wally! Move! But the pilot didn't have his machine's weapons trained on the terrified little soldier. No, he was moving out of the way of oncoming missile. Kid Flash jumped backwards just in time to avoid the chain gun fire from the mech, but the shockwave from the object's landing threw Wally off his feet. "Crap!" He yelled. His ears were ringing. The muscles in his legs ached. Wally should be dead. But the missile hadn't exploded- No. It wasn't a missile. It was a...girl?!

"Hey, watch it! You almost crushed me!" Kid Flash growled at his presumed ally. The sinister look on the rapidly regenerating assassin's face, however, told Wally that something was wrong. "Uhhh." He started. Before the speedster could continue, the mech was opening fire on the girl once more. Kid Flash sprung to his feet and moved. This time Wally chose to get the Hell outta Dodge and sprinted as quickly as his legs would carry him toward the enemy encampment. The sound barrier exploded around Kid Flash, knocking up a enormous screen of sand into the air behind him. This caused enemy marksmen scattered about the battlefield to lose track of the speedster, at least temporarily. But it lasted long enough for Kid Flash to reach his destination. The sidekick crouched next to the wall and opened up a holographic map of the structure on the monitor installed on his left arm. A pulsating red dot marked the primary generator room. There were numerous blue dots placed around the map, revealing the location of the backup generators. The ex-sidekick was specifically meant to hit the highlighted generators, although he had a secondary objective of destroying them all.

The front door slid open as a team of fish people armed with tridents rushed out to join their comrades. Wally slipped between the sliding gates moments before they closed. The speedster broke out at a run down the dark, steel-plated hallways, following the holographic map to his goal. He avoided as many patrols as he could; however, the pre-programmed map only accounted for regular security checks. There were always any number of individuals roaming the halls, especially during an assault like this one, that could not be tracked. So Kid Flash took it slow; he stayed at about half speed and checked for activity before he rounded corners.

Eventually, Wally stood in front of a nondescript metal door with a keypad lock. The hero quickly calculated the most likely passwords and began rapidly trying dozens of different combinations. Eventually the lock clicked and Kid Flash was allowed inside. The speedster dropped about half of the explosives contained within the satchel around the reactor. He'd need the rest of them for the backups. Once that was done, Kid Flash dashed out of the room and down the halls. He soared past a well-dressed man with bright green hair, tossing a mock salute to the guy at super speed before disappearing around a corner. Wally whipped out the detonator and pressed down on the button, causing the explosives he'd primed to go off. The reactor's destruction caused a chain reaction throughout the facility, knocking off all systems for roughly 13 seconds until the backup generators kicked in.

"Security is down for the next 10 seconds. Do your thing, Spec Ops." Kid Flash announced across the communications channel, klaxons screeching in the background.

Kid Flash sped around the facility blowing up critical backup generators for a full minute and a half before a squad of Chaos forces were able to pin him down in the mess hall. Wally West took cover behind an overturned lunch table, lasers and bullets impacting its metal frame and threatening to cut right through. Luckily, it held. For now. "Uhm. If there's any Resistance members in the base, I could use some back up. I'm pinned in the Mess Hall!"

Alexandria Skye

"All clear!" One of her ODST subordinates said. Alexandria couldn't detect anything on her sonar either, which reinforces the soldier's claims. She called out to her team mates to make sure that everyone made it to the LZ in one piece. Fortunately, all were accounted for, and the communications relay was undamaged. "Ok squad. Form up." She said into the communication grid the squad's helmets were linked to. She knew that she was well out of ear shot, but her goal was to be as quiet as possible, so she reframed from shouting with the external speakers. The squad quickly huddled around their leader. "Sniper Teams 1,2,3,4 and 5, get eyes and ears on the south, southeast, southwest, west, and eastern expanse and cover our flanks, I don't want anything sneaking up on us. Sniper team 6, you and I will be scanning the battlefield. Technician team will provide maintenance to the communications relay and broadcast our signal to command ship. Everyone else, guard the relay and the technicians with your lives. No of you wander anymore than 50ft away from me or the relay. Maintain your positions unless I say otherwise. Execute orders now." Everyone scrambled into their positions with eyes and ears in all directions, scopes ready to shoot whatever approaches.

Even without her scope, she could see explosions, fire and smoke over the horizon, and unaided by her listening instruments she could faintly hear ballistic and laser fire in the distance. This made her appreciate the distance from the ongoing fight. However she still had her own concerns to worry about. All her ODST squad members were more well trained and equipped than the average soldier, but their small numbers made them to were if any sizable force were to close in on their position, they would be overrun by sheer numbers. They were not meant to enter the fray, only to keeps tabs on the ensuing battle, which could play a huge amount of importance in making sure the tide was staying in the Alliance's favor.

Once everyone was done calibrating their weapons and bunkered down, Alexandria turning on her cloaking system to blend in with the sand. "The communications relay is up and running!" One of the technicians said through the comm-link. Alexandria then attempted to send out a signal letting the Alliance now where they and trying to communicate to the central command ship. "Central command, do you read me? Attempting to reach you" She said slowly and clearly. "This is Recon Squad leader BANSHEE reporting in. Recon squad has touched down safely and have eyes on the ground. The enemy has yet to detect our presence. We are currently stationed at LZ and awaiting further orders. I Repeat..." And with that re-utterance she waited for a response from central command to let her know the message went through.

As Darquesse stood up from the crater she'd made in the ground, she grinned at her surroundings. Where was that mech? She wanted to try killing it again, that thing had been faster than she'd expected. Of course, her answer took the form of a burst of chaingun-fire, bullets the size of her fist ripping through the dust to tear apart the entire area. Darquesse allowed them to tear through her, her fragile body torn to pieces as the shockwaves caused by the massive projectiles turned her insides to mush. She could feel her guts leaking out of gaping wounds as a bullet tore her arm off, sending it flying. She would have laughed, but her lungs appeared to be filled blood. The pain was agonizing, of course, but it was beautiful in it's agony. The thump-thump-thump of the massive weapon like the rythmic heart-beat of death. Of course, after a moment the gun stopped, as the pilot witnessed the torn-to-pieces corpse of Darquesse as it hovered in mid-air.

"Hey, watch it! You could have crushed me!"

Stunned, Darquesse looked over at the child, even as her jaw began rebuilding itself. This kid looked about 15, no older for sure, and yet he had the gal to tell her to watch it? It was strange enough that it made her momentarily forget about the mech, even as her body reformed itself in mere moments. She grinned, thinking of what to do to this kid. Would she burn his skin off, or rip out his heart in person? She did like to add a personal touch, so maybe she'd carve her name into his bones. But before any of these plans could be initiated, the child shot off at ridiculous speeds, a blur and a trail of dust the only indication of the creatures presence. Woah. that was fast. In fact, it was significantly faster than Darquesse could go. Momentarily she contemplated chasing this kid, finding out just how exactly he moved at that kind of speed, especially when she couldn't sense any magic. But there was no way she'd be able to catch up to him and find him.

Shrugging, Darquesse turned back to the Mech, her main prey. The mech raised it's chainguns for a second volley, but Darquesse shot sideways, the rain of bullets pulverizing the ground were she'd been standing. She flew circles around the mech at high speed, the giant robot fighting to keep up with her movements as it's chainguns swiveled around to meet her. Of course, evasion could only amuse her for so long, and she called upon the powers of darkness to assist her. With a gesture, she sent a shadowy fist smashing into the mech from the size, knocking it off balance and pushing it backwards. Several further waves of darkness would be sent smashing into it from the sides, Darquesse constantly changing her angle of attack as she stayed away from the chainguns.

@Frengo @Saint Girralo @Savato @gun @dirty slime

From mechs to newcomers, the battle on the ground was getting more and more hectic. The bigger of the soldiers was injured and being pinned down by some of the enemies, while Mustang ordered Light and MC to get behind cover. "Yeah sure." MC replied, teleporting backwards while laying down Rock Ice Lightning Frost Shield pillars behind her, the pillars shooting out chilling lightning as anything got close. Teleporting behind Mustang, who seemed to be having trouble keeping a few of the other ground troops in the frey.

Noting the large soldier being surrounded by enemies, MC charged up and fired a Life Life Life Life Earth boulder at the soldier. While the small boulder might cause some harm, the huge explosion of life energy would heal Doomguy back to his feet. And thankfully one of the mechanized units cleared out some of the enemies piled on top of the space marine. Thinking about it, MC conjured some life landmines using Life x4 Shield, healing anything that stepped on them, at least, if they weren't undead.

"Healing is fun." MC said to Mustang, pointing out the green bubbles dug into the rock that everyone could see. One went off to illustrate her point, healing up a soldier who had just gotten pierced by a high caliber gun, much to said soldier's disbelief. It was around this time that Kid Flash called over the communication channels, stating that he was being pinned down inside the enemy base. "I don't think anyone is even over there. Man is that one headstrong. I'll go save him." MC said to Mustang, conjuring a single portal a bit behind allied lines, then casting Invisibility much to Mustang's exasperation. Floating above the battlefield, MC cast a rapid chain of teleport spells towards the enemy base.

Light

@dirty slime

Light was enjoying her little game of playing whack a mole with the forces near the back, popping things into the air and using them to bat the missiles that were flying around back into the ground, often losing her bat made out of confused smaller humanoid aliens in the process. She really didn't hear Mustang's order, being a bit farther out than the rest of the group. She did notice though that a few knights engaged with Mustang's group were wearing silver, Light making a mental note to avoid that altogether.

Hazama

Hazama stood impatiently outside the door. Just what were they doing that was taking so long? A battle raging and they decided to play in their room? No matter. He had better things to do. Just...slip this report right under the door... and...? suddenly, explosions were heard throughout the base. And then sounds of gunshots from the mess hall mere meters away. What? Did someone actually get in? Why even have security if any bug could move freely along! Hazama threw the report into his assistants hands, and stormed down the hall.

Hazama threw the doors to the mess hall open. Soldiers stood and fired at some kid who managed to get in. Well, maybe this would be fun after all. Hazama pulled a couple of soldiers from the back, and sent them to lower the barriers. Due to being pinned down, Kid flash would more then likely not notice it until it was too late.
Steel barriers would block all the exits, and the soldiers would stop firing. Out of the crowd, Hazama would show himself. Walking slowly up, eyes closed, hat down, a smug smile on his face. He would size the kid up before speaking.

"Well well well, what do we have here. A halloween reject for the rebellion? Why, I must say you're quite the bold one. Running in here by yourself. Ah, too bad that's going to be your last move."

Hazama's voice remained calm, amicable even, as he spoke. Yet oddly unlikable. Smug. But his true nature only being revealed by those last words. Hazama would open his eyes, their color a sickly yellow, and reminiscentof those of a snake. The glare would be withering, intimidating even. A green ring would form around him as he prepared for the battle.

"Restriction 666 released. Dimensonal interference field deploy. Code S.O.L. Blazblue... activate."

The ring would suddenly become thicker, and turn into chains. More would appear and amass around hazama. If he were so inclined, kid flash may have heard of this, and may even recognize the man before him. Captain hazama of the Reign of Chaos, and his nox nyctores, Ouroboros. Though he wouldn't have time to reflect on that as Hazama sent several chains towards him, each one tipped with a hook shaped like a snake.

"But really. Bad move. And now you're gonna die for it!

Richards couldn't help but watch in fascination as this woman knitted herself back together. He'd heard of people like this, but this was his first time seeing this sort of fundamental unfairness in person. She looked, for a second, that she was going to go for the babyface that had stopped to yell at her and maybe save Richard a whole lot of headache. The boy streaked off toward the base though, and left him alone with this...this...

The woman turned back to him, and the look in her eyes confirmed it. This absolute maniac. Richard could recognize his own. He started to fire again, but the woman began to circle him. Every few moments she would move into his view again, only to disappear around the side before he could draw a bead on her. Then she started to attack, something dark slamming him from the side. He fired a boost in the opposite direction to keep himself for tumbling over, then backwards to dodge another coming from a different angle. She passed in front of him again. He boosted in another direction to dodge another darkness attack, and another, and another. She passed in front again, and he boosted again to get away from another darkness attack. Faster and faster he dodged, caught up in this deadly rhythm. Trapped in this circle she'd created he'd eventually run out of boost and be pulverized to death.

It was exhilarating.

She passed in front of him again. Richard dodge again. Twice more. She passed in front of him again. Her speed was constant. She fired these attacks off on the move, so she was in another place by the time it reached Richard and forced him to dodge. If her speed was constant than the distance she moved after she fired off a attack was also constant. Richard constructed a mental image of the desert around him. His pods opened up, swapped out his miniguns for a rail gun and an anti mech rifle, and he waited for the next attack.

He didn't have to wait long. He dodged again, critically low on boost now. If he had to do it anymore like this it would start cutting into his main power supply. Now, in the time it had been since he last attack and compensating for the direction he'd dodged in she should be riiiiiiight...

He pointed the rifle over his shoulder and fired, the immense recoil spinning him around as he brought up the rail gun to bear. The magnetic coils sprung to life with a crackle as he he spun to level it right where she would be in in just about NOW!

He fired, letting his own maniac laugh echo out for all the world to hear.

The Battlefield

@Savato @Archmage MC @Frengo @Saint Girralo @Gun

Moving with speed that belied his heavy armor, the other Mage-Knight was suddenly in front of his winded commander; taking the plasma shot head on by blocking it with his free hand, the proceeding explosion seemingly annihilating him... However, as the smoke cleared; the Knight smirks confidently at MC as all the damage he has to show for such an attack being a lightly scorched palm.

However, Roy's avalanche attack and the various blaster bolts, missiles, grenades and bullets from the rest of the enemy force causes him to falter somewhat, only for the two mages behind him to pick up the slack and block the attack for their overly eager comrade along with everyone else within 50 meters with a shimmering magical barrier that hardly budged from the barrage of earth, glass and steel.

At the moment the barrier went down, the dark paladins struck back with an all-out assault, the puppet-wizard, his magical coat and hat protecting him from the very worst of the Resistance's firepower fearlessly sends forth snaking tendrils of living fire from his magical staff that sailed over and around the cover erected by the Alchemist lieutenant, seeking flesh and steel to consume in their fiery grasp as the heavy knight charged towards the fortification like a speeding truck, sword held aloft, bloody vengeance upon his lips and seeking to take the head of Roy Mustang as a trophy as bullets and blaster bolts impacted upon his armor to worryingly little effect while the Angelic trio darts towards the skies; gracefully weaving and swerving around the fire directed at them before raining down holy judgement upon those they wholeheartedly believed were the minions of evil.

"HEAVEN'S KNUCKLE!!!"

"EXCALIBURST!!!"

The two rod-wielding angels unleash lancing beams of heavenly light that was anything but at the invaders, their heat and intensity more than strong enough to vaporize flesh, slag steel and slice through ranks of men with contemptuous ease; while the knightly angel launches barrages of shining waves of purifying energy from his wrist-mounted Holy Blade aimed at maiming and murdering the officers and squad leaders, hoping to sow confusion and panic among the Resistance's ranks, all that while they continued to dodge their enemies' frantic attempts at neutralizing them.

Seeing an enemy Mech join the infantry firefight by cutting down a large number of friendly forces in a furious volley of light and fire, the Angelic swordsman decided to put his mettle to the test against the machine and dived towards it, protecting his head and chest with his shield as he rolled and weaved in an unpredictable manner to confuse and confound the pilot and the soldier standing beside it before striking out with a single slash of his Holy Blade, to the angel's frustration however, the pilot had dodged at the last moment; though that sizable gash upon its shoulder would mean that the pilot would do well to pay attention to the swordsman...

Meanwhile the Flame Knight looks around for MC, cursing himself for letting such a dangerous enemy escape his sight all while he protects his subordinate mages beside him by deflecting enemy fire aimed at them with his sword, body and magical barriers all while cutting down and/or incinerating any who dared approach. His two charges weren't sitting idly by however and were helping by being a massive nuisance to the invaders by destabilizing the ground they stand on and blowing the dust and smoke caused by the fighting into the resistance's side of the field.

Chaos Headquarters

@lmpkio @FacePunch @Absolis

Literally 5 seconds after the power died out inside the base, the entire massive structure suddenly shook violently! Did that mean that something else was destroyed other than the main generators?! Did Wally use too much explosives?! Judging from the expressions of fear and worry from the soldiers that had been shooting at him, their fear directed not at Hazama but at the violent tremor; it was probably something that could be very good or very bad for the Resistance...

"Finally..."

Kyrie lent a fraction of his reservoir of thought to Doomguy's condition, which miraculously, another Resistance fighter had restored to complete function. This was good, because now Kyrie could switch from suppression to actively engaging the enemy without fallen soldiers to worry about accidentally killing or locking his list of options down to defense as he would cover an escape for him.

Kyrie's sensory systems pinged like they did prior when the flame dragon erupted forth just as the angels built up the power to fire their angelic beams of thermionic icor. The Freedom's right hand shot to the sky as the E.P. Drive cycled particles through the mobile suit that scattered in great quantities into the surroundings.

"Fang Barrier!"

The thick cloud of particles in close conjunction with one another caused them to naturally align as a quite sizeable pyramid shaped M Field that surrounded all of the friendly resistance fighters as the wave of heat and purifying light would crash bodily into it, struggling for a fraction of a second before the M Field refracted the excited particles and split the blast about itself in a blinding flash of light that could be seen from any point of the battlefield. As the light settled both shield and beams would be rendered nothing but harmless radiation.

Just as the field fell another ping alerted Kyrie, cocking his head from within the cockpit, the movement suffused and mimicked by the mobile suit. He was just in time to catch angelic swordsman weaving in and out of a straight line of fire making a dash for the Freedom, its various lock-on systems activated, supplemented by its extrasensory perception systems feeding all quantifiable information about the angel that could be gleaned on a cursory glance. Primary factors were speed, weight, height, and any notable atmospheric differences surrounding him, which the system would readily pick up. That aside, Kyrie's particular military foci were spatial awareness for proper use of his various remote weapons and higg perceptual awareness, which meant confusing him with simple tricks of the eyes was all but impossible.

Just as the angel would come within striking distance, the Freedom drew a Damascus V-Blade from its hidden wrist compartment, which could potentially surprise the angel, and met its blade with his own. Kyrie flourished his wrist with dexterous precision as the blades met, twirling the enemy blade outside of a useable guard stance before the saber came full circle, clipping the angels swordhand cleanly off. The action was followed up by using the natural curved momentum from the forward swing of his sword strike to spin low and deal a double stroke that would sever the legs below the protection of its shield, and a second blow meant for the mid-region, purposefully interacting with the shield. The high energy and nature of V particles when interacting with physical matter allowed it to make ribbons of its shield before it would be bisected at the waist.

The Angelic emissary all but rendered a stumped torso amd left arm, Kyrie redirected his attention to the summoner-knight as his Fangs returned to their docking panels to add their thrust to his already powerful primary back-thruster, launching him the forty or so feet between them at sonic speeds, beam-saber held at a mid-finestra positioning as he came within striking distance.

Unfortunately for Kyrie, the Angel was no mere grunt nor a greenhorn that would be so easily surprised and disheartened by a few twirls of a blade as literally microseconds after the sword was parried, the Angel swiftly lashes out with a lightning-fast cross using its sacred shield as a knuckleduster towards the mech's center of mass, impacting with force far greater than an APFSDS round from a Tank's main gun, knocking the machine away and potentially stunning the pilot before the seraphic warrior darts forwards with such great speed that it was practically a shimmering blur of white and purple and launching with a furious barrage of inhumanly precise and powerful slashes from literally all directions but the back with its Holy Blade; the strips of parchment wrapped around it and its own robes further breaking up its image and obfuscating its attacks, while the V-particle blades of the Mech would indeed render most weapons and defenses useless against it; the holy light empowering the Angel's panoply was of the celestial beings of the Digital world, a power as great if not greater than the very might of YHVH and combined with the Angel's own inner power renders the V-particle's overwhelming superiority against mundane tools of war utterly negated against such weapons of higher being.

Undaunted by their first strikes missing, the lesser angels prepared once more to strafe their foes; but the thickening fire and the fact that the Rebel scum were starting to bring out MANPADS in response to their presence had forced them to fight on foot or risk getting blown out of the sky and potentially crashing into the thick of the enemy ranks. Still, they didn't waste any time and fought the invaders back by using their divine rods as shields by rapidly spinning them while suffusing them with holy power, forcing the invaders attempting to take them down to back away from where their superior is currently dueling the mech or risk getting hit by a deflected bullet/blaster bolt.

For something of that size, the mech sure was fast. While her initial attack hadd hit, this mech seemed to use a set of booster rockets to propel itself out of the way of her attacks. Realizing that those rockets couldn't have an endless supply of fuel, she laughingly sent more attacks, wave of solid shadow that the mech promptly dodged. She worked her opponent away from the front line, forcing it dodge for dodge into a little secluded corner, where just the two of them could duke it out. She was toying with it now, sending a series of blasts as she remained out of reach of the impressively large weaponry systems. Had she wanted to, she could have summoned shadows from another direction, changed up the pattern, or just rushed in and started ripping it apart with her bare hands. But to do so would interrupt this deadly dance, this construct of shadowy blades and heavy machinery that kept the duo entranced. It was a game! And while another might have been frightened by the stakes, Darquesse had no need to fear for her life. After all, she never lost.

She noticed, of course, when the mech changed out it's weaponry. Perhaps the pilot thought they'd have a better chance with this larger gun, a rifle looking thing. She took a moment to wonder if it shot a laser of some kind. And if it did, she wondered if she could dodge it. In the end it didn't matter, of course, as she was much too fast to-

Just as she'd planned on launching another wave of shadow, the mech turned rapidly, it's weapon already on her. She only had a millisecond to react, as she realized she'd fallen into a pattern. Taking a moment to curse her absentmindedness, she formed a shield of shadows in front of her even as the massive railgun fired at her. The single bullet was accelerated to several times the speed of sound, fast enough that even Darquesse would be unable to dodge it, and with enough force behind it that the shadowy barrier in front of her barely slowed it down. She'd crossed her arms in front of her body, and she could feel the bullet striking her after it tore through her shield. A normal body would have been annihilated by the impact, but her body was far from normal. She felt the impact push her back as her bones began to shatter, her flesh splitting and blood covering her. She allowed pain to fill her mind for a moment, a burning sensation as her arms felt as if they'd been set on fire. But only for a moment, before she shut off the pain, and healed herself.

The railgun round was spent, but before it could fall to the ground Darquesse caught it with her newly fixed arms. A large chunk of metal, badly deformed by the force of impact and still heated by friction. She chuckled as she looked back at the mech, as to the human inside this exchange of power would have taken less than a millisecond. And, reaching back, she threw the bolt back with her full force. It was perhaps not as impressive as the power of the railgun, but her enhanced strength allowed her to launch it near the speed of sound, a bullet the size of her head aimed straight at the cockpit. And it's speed would make it nigh impossible to dodge, boost or no.

Roy hadn't been listening to what MC had said about the healing items that she left until one went off healing a grievously injured soldier. This would prove useful as a number of his squad were getting hammered by enemy fire. He didn't have time to ask MC what exactly she did as Kid Flash came over the radio saying he was pinned down. MC said she was going to go help the young man, and promptly disappeared.

Clapping his hands together, Roy touched the ground and quickly contained the living fire by enclosing it in its own earthen tomb. Because after all, fire, living or not, requires three things to survive, fuel, heat and oxygen. Remove one of those things, in this case oxygen and the fire goes out. The lieutenant has fought a number of the enemy officers here before, but this is he first time he has encountered the Licht Group. But their reputation is legendary, and he was aware that they might be present at this battle. Though he would would never admit it, he was actually a bit terrified by the group, to the point where he wished he had a Philosopher's Stone, despite the costs. It would enable him to overcome these enemies.

He looks above him as multiple pillars of light and fire are intercepted by a mysterious barrier, and before the light turns blinding, he crouches down and covers his eyes. Roy was quickly learning he had underestimated the strength of the Licht group if this is what a handful of soldiers from that unit could do. He would make it a point to Amestris after the battle, if he survived, and recruit a few more alchemists into the Resistance's ranks. The specific ones that came to mind were Major Armstrong, and the Elric Brothers. He would have asked Van Hohenheim, the living Philosophers stone and father to the Elric Brothers to join as well, but Hohenheim sacrificed himself to return Alphonse's body to him. Full Metal would get a kick out of his superior officer asking for his help.

He tossed a grenade he picked up from a nearby injured soldier at the three oncoming mages in front of him. He didn't even check if it did anything while he crouched and got on his radio.

"Command, this is Lieutenant Mustang, Foxtrot company. We're being engaged by Licht group and are more or less pinned down. We need heavy support. Danger Close, Firing Solution Bravo preferred."

"Doom! Get to cover!" Roy ordered, hollering at the soldier, who seemed determined to make it back to Hell one way or another. "Light! You too!"

Richard hadn't even landed yet when the round slammed into the chest of his mobile armor, shaking the entire suit. There was a fist sized dent where the thing had impacted and warnings sounded off about the significant damage he'd just taken to the chest area. He landed back on the sand, dragging two long grooves as he slid backwards. Inside Richard considered his options.

It was unpalatable, but he flipped on his emergency beacon and opened up his coms.

"This is a message from Richard Hawk." He started, sounding nothing like a man that was looking death in the face. "I'm was having this lovely blind date over in sector....4, but my dance partner turned out to be much too aggressive for my tastes. It would be FANTASTIC if someone could swing by and take her off my hands because I don't think I'm making it to first base with this one."

Hopefully someone was coming with a bailout, now all he had to do was live long enough to enjoy it. The pods opened again and he swapped back to his rifle for the multimissiles. "LETS KEEP DANCING!" He shouted, pointing the weapon up and firing wildly into the air. The missile shot up, then came back down indiscriminately around them. The explosions threw massive amounts of sand and smoke into the air, obscuring the view of the battlefield. Then Richard moved somewhere within the obscuring cloud.

He could still track her with the mobile armors radar, hopefully she would have trouble finding him. And if she did, well, the railgun had at least made her stop.

The Thermal Detonator thrown by the Alchemist Lieutenant ends up conking the charging mage-knight on his helmet, the thing barely registering in the mind of the solider who was rendered practically deaf and blind by his thirst for glory and honor, if he wasn't so heavily protected by his suit of powered magitek armor and the various passive magical barriers he had erected, he would have been reduced into naught but atoms by the fusion blast.

But as it stood, it merely stopped his charge dead his tracks, badly scorched his armor, so badly that the thinner sections of his armor looked like they were partially melted and perhaps most tellingly, caused him to flail about blindly as he barrels towards a random direction; his helmet's visor having been overwhelmed by the intense radiance of the miniaturized nuclear fusion charge. Unfortunately, he was going towards the Resistance gunline; where the moment he regains his sight, heads will roll...

Gasping in surprise at what had happened to his brother-in-arms, the Puppet-wizard neglected to retaliate against Mustang's troop and instead slams the butt of his staff on the ground, causing several pillars or stone to form in front of the rampaging knight, pillars that were soon bulldozed over by the superhuman strength of the knight, causing him to trip over the debris, stopping him long enough to shake off his impetuousness and realize that he was incredibly vulnerable in his state; prompting him to keep his head down as he erects an active barrier around him while he blinks the white spots from his vision.

"Defenser!"

A magical circle then forms in front of the knight, keeping him well-protected for the time being. Meanwhile, no good deed goes unpunished as the Puppet-Wizard curses loudly from a blaster bolt nearly blowing his staff-carrying arm off, giving him a good reason as any to take cover behind a crashed mech as he blindly throws fireballs behind him; the Rebels becoming wise to focus their firepower on the squishy spellcaster that can probably kill dozens of their number with just a gesture and not the currently turtling Knight who may or may not suddenly fire some sort of magical mega laser from his plain-looking sword.

@Saint Girralo @Dirty Slime @Frengo @savato @gun

Wrecking a bit of chaos in the enemy back lines wasn't doing too much for the war effort Light realized. Most of the ships had already landed or had been shot down, and these soldiers weren't doing much at all to hurt the advancing Resistance troops. Punching a pig-like grotesque looking mutant in the groin in a bit of anger, Light lept into her hole and popped out around where Mustang was.

"I don't think messing with the backlines is doing anything anymore." Light said to Mustang with a smile and a wink. Getting in a playful ready stance and sucking in some wind, Light got ready to deal with the group of elites that were holding back his troops advance. Since she had been messing around in the backlines, Light wasn't sure what to focus, and instead got into a defensive stance, grabbing a nearby piece of metal to use as a bat.

MC

@Absolis @FacePunch

Upon reaching the base, MC was a bit shocked to see how lax the security was. The power was out and there weren't very many guards at the entrance. Considering she was about to go inside the building, MC conjured a Tornado and Thunderstorm over the enemy backlines before flying into the open doors of the base, the base itself gaining power and the doors closing behind her soon after.

The thick base doors muffled the screams of the enemy soldiers being zapped by the lightning outside, making it a bit easier to hear some gunshots coming from inside the base, the noise muffled by the base walls and some barriers. Letting out a sound that sounded like a mix of a bell, a crystal humming, and stardust, MC charged up a series of Fire Earth Earth Arcane Arcane boulders, firing them at the barrier until one made it through. She continued this on the second barrier, the loud sounds of stone hitting metal followed by a 'wooshing' explosion echoing through the base each time a boulder hit the barrier. Upon getting closer to the mess hall, a large amount of the noise had stopped, and a muffled voice could be heard. When MC turned the corner, she saw some man holding back a few soldiers that were keeping Kid Flash pinned down in the mess hall, the man taunting him.

Having the element of surprise, MC used the Summon Chicken spell, sending the bird flying towards the soldiers and the man and hopefully distracting them due to the absurdity of it. Of course, if they hit it they were in for a world of hurt. She then ducked behind the corner as a soldier turned his attention to her. MC would bust through the wall if Kid Flash was in trouble, assuming she didn't have to deal with soldiers herself from making so much noise.

Darquesse grinned, as she beheld her handiwork. The mech seemed to have taken some serious damage from that alone. Although it was certainly impressive for mortal technology, it was nothing beside the power of magic. The mech switched weaponry once more, seeming to believe that missiles would fair better against her. It was an amusing prospect, and she wondered for a moment if she could catch a missile mid-air. She'd seen it in a movie once, she thought, and it had looked fairly amazing. Of course her hopes were dashed as he fired a flurry of missiles into the air, moments before they crashed down into the terrain around them. A crescendo of explosions surrounded her as shrapnel bounced off of her enhanced body, the missiles clearly placed randomly as not a single one struck her floating form.

It was a good strategy, honestly. The dust obscured her vision, while the mech would probably use heat vision or something to find her. But she had no interest in a game of chess with this creature, and she'd seen many more interesting things to break across the battlefield. This fight was beginning to bore her, and thus it was time it drew to a close. Gesturing, she sent a ripple through the air, as a powerful gust dissipated the newly formed clouds of dust. Hurrican winds whipped around her as she smiled at the mech suit, raising a hand. This was an attack he wouldn't see coming, and she was no longer inclined to hold back.

Even as Richard lined up his railgun for another shot, a wall of air slammed into it like a fist. Nearly five tons of metal was pushed upwards, briefly leaving the ground as the compressed air assaulted it. Then it as merely thrown to the ground, it's balance destroyed and cast onto it's back. Tendrils of shadow latched around it's limbs, pulling it down and holding it in place. It's various weapons were held away from Darquesse as she flew towards him, landing elegantly on the cockpit as she looked in through the glass. She could see the little guy in there as she grinned down on him, tapping on the reinforced glass. Both of them knew it wouldn't hold her. "So, I've got two questions for you. The first being the obvious one. Where did you get this mech? And the second one.... where can I get one?"

One moment, Doomguy was curled up like a baby - a baby with a plasma rifle firing a never ending arc of blue flesh-dissolving bolts - but a baby all the same. The demon had managed to get its claw across his stomach, but unsurprisingly this was not the first time he'd been hurt in such a way. A smile met his lips, as he remembered his confrontation with the Cyber Demon those many years ago. He'd come out of that fight barely alive, and this right now, was little different.

And then before he knew it, a chain of sanity-breaking events took place. A large armoured robot of a kind he'd never seen before, landed beside him with a thud, and added its devastating fire power to his plasma barrage. Beast and soldier fell, reeling from their grievous wounds, and their attack momentarily halted. Doomguy struggled to his knees, the pain in his stomach a searing heat that caused him to grow weaker and weaker by the second.

Something heavy hit him and exploded, launching him a few feet across the sand. He thought he'd been hit by a rocket, and was expecting to find his legs had gone off in their own direction, but a quick check told him that all was strangely well. In fact, he'd never felt so good! The wound across his stomach had vanished, a staggered claw mark in his green armour a monument to where it had been.

Doomguy looked around, the chaos of the battle overtaking even his own eagerness for mindless testosterone filled mayhem, and tried to make out friend from foe. He wasn't suited to this kind of warfare; his tales were of compact corridors, filled with demons standing shoulder to shoulder - of treacherous rooms, filled with obstacles and hazards. His skills, as great as they may have been, were ill suited to this slogging fest, in which far greater beings than he contested for dominance.

"Screw this," he murmured, getting to his feet. "Let's crack this nut."

There had been times in Hell, and on the moons of Mars, that Doomguy had relied on his legendary speed and agility to carry him by hordes of monsters unharmed. Such a stratagem, effective then, would hopefully prove effective now.

Dropping his plasma gun into the sand, Doomguy drew his prized chainsaw. The weapon was unremarkable in appearance, but Hell would remember well the suffering it sustained at the hands of its belted blade.

"One," he said, steadying himself. "Two." His eyes rested on the weakest part of the RoC line. "Three."

And then he was off, his feet pounding the sand quicker than a human could possibly hope to run under normal circumstances. What looked like an android, seven feet tall with shoulder-mounted rocket launchers, reached out with a clawed hand - and recoiled as Doomguy moved under the attack, and briefly shoved his chainsaw into the machine's abdomen. Before its systems could determine the damage, he had vanished.

The chainsaw ricocheted from the face of some nameless demon, and plunged into the neck of an armoured skeleton. A man in a balaclava levelled a rifle his way, but Doomguy was gone by the time he'd pulled the trigger.

The battle whirled around Dooguy as he dodged, butchered, jumped and dived his way through the explosive chaos. Many tried to stop him, and he cut them all down in kind. Before long, a carpet of corpses stood in his wake, and the tide was thinning as he reached the rear of the RoC battle line.

Fortifications graced him in the distance, a few hundred yards away. He presumed these marked the outer defences of the RoC base - or outpost - or whatever it was he was sent here to destroy. He longed for their tight corridors and the close quarters slaughter that they would undoubtedly offer him.

He cleared the ground rapidly, his chainsaw chugging and spluttering as it struggled to free itself from the muck that had started to clog the chain. It wouldn't last him much longer, but it'd nearly done its job. Doomguy kept up his sprint, swerving around what he could only guess was an Ogre, but came to a standstill when he was greeted by a solid wall made of some dark alloy. Hellspawn jeered at him from the battlements above, and he found himself weaving in and out of fireballs and lightning bolts.

This was going to be a long day.

Or was it?

The chainsaw hit the sand, as the BFG 9000 came up in his hands. He aimed the mighty weapon towards the battlements, and fired off a round. A big green ball of plasma struck the metalwork, and exploded. Dozens of the Hellspawn were instantly vaporised, and the wall crumbled outwards, providing him with a ramp of rubble to climb to the top.

Many tried to block his ascent, as more fireballs scorched the ground around him. He replied in kind, firing off more devastating green balls and smiting scores of his foe at a time.

However, as he stood upon the ramparts of Chaos, he looked back on the battle and awed at its entirety. Thousands were engaged below, as hundreds of dropships spewed forth from the sky - weaving between dog fights conducted by many smaller craft. Yeah, it certainly wasn't for him. He was nobody's cannon fodder. He was a God damned hero, the likes of which the world hadn't seen since 93'... however long ago that was; if he was going to die, it was going to be from suffocation after the masses of his downed enemies eventually smothered him in what would be the biggest corpse pile the Multiverse had ever seen.

Turning from the carnage, he looked towards the main RoC base - a series of hardened structures and towers, off in the distance. Hundreds upon hundreds more warriors of Chaos were assembling in the space between the base and the outer defences. They were as varied as they were deadly, augmented by mechanised forces and low-flying support craft. Looked to him that they were getting ready to launch a counter attack.

Instead, they were going to hit a wall. A Doom Wall.

He started to descend to meet them, taking a staircase that would convey him to the next arena; his BFG in one hand, and his knuckle duster in the other.

The moment particle beam met blade, the sudden pivot and shift of momentum in the angel was reciprocated by a mixture of Kyrie's massive consciousness, the Psi system, and bio-com, with their abilities suffused to one another making the angel truly seem to move slower than molasses to the pilot.

Kyrie's movements were juxtaposed to the angel's, magnetic coated joints railgunning his left hand toward the auxiliary shield-turned-fist, building millions of particles along the way. For the three or so macro-seconds that his arm travelled, the mass was increased several dozen times over, increasing its speed and power mid-flight with enough force to not only match the angel, but provided sufficient force to, if not shatter its precious Sheild, would release a shockwave through the boss that would travel through the material and threaten to violently shake whatever might have been inside the lumbering suit of armor. If not simply send him flying bodily for several dozen yards. The force of the attack would, instead of knocking the Freedom off balance, would disrupt the digimons own.

As this transpires, four Fangs, reactive to fluxuations in Kyrie's brain waves by nature respond to the hostility of the celestial emissary, breaking away from their charging docks with jet-streams of v-particles left in their wake. Like ravenous beasts they surround him from angles which the shield would not protect him from before releasing wide conical blasts of v-particles that could sunder the hulls of battleship.

Richard grinned back up at her from his prone position. His tie hung loose around his neck, his white undershirt was stained with sweat from the short but intense fight, his hair was still immaculate without a single strand out of place, and he was smiling like a madman. "This old thing? 100% designed in the U.S.A. especially for little old me, but I'm sure Science Team made their modification when they put it back together. Guys are like activists, they're always trying to slip something in when you're not looking."

Richard flipped a switch and the cockpit opened up proper. He took a deep breath of air, really savoring the flavor of it, before rising out of it to face her eye to eye. "But I love those sweet little bugs." He continued, adjusting his tie. "They perform science like nobodies business. They could build something ten, fifty, a hundreds times better than this piece of junk."

Richard let the implication hang in the air for a moment before smashing it. "That's a bribe. I'm bribing you. Ditch the losers that you work with and join up with the Reign of Chaos. You'd fit right in with that sunny disposition of yours, and you'd probably be running the place after a while. There are tons of signing bonuses, but when they tried explaining them all to me I got so bored I took a nap."

Richard extended his hand to her while fiddling with a pin on . "And if you're not interested, at least give me a name I can carry with me to Hell."

Much to the surprise of the Mech's pilot, the shield didn't shatter from the railgun's slug, hardly budging even and the incoming holy weapon merely slowed down by a pitifully meager amount, yet the shock of the impact causes the Angel's muscles to tense, making the punch to go astray, enough for the Mech to dodge, forcing the blow to whiff and yet even a near miss like that caused a section of its armor to become uncomfortably hot due to the friction caused by the shield grinding against the plating. Gritting his teeth at having severely underestimated his opponent, the Angel suddenly lashes out with his legs, kicking himself away from the mech in order to unleash his more powerful-and draining techniques. At the very moment the fangs jockeyed into position in order to box in and fire at the holy warrior as he sails away, he spares the Fangs surrounding him a cold glare before casting a spell upon itself.

"Execute: Sonic Move."

The Fangs then unleashed their destructive light and fury upon their target, seemingly consuming him utterly in their radiance. Yet Kyrie's sensors do not lie: The Angel wasn't done yet! On the upper corner of his eyes, he catches a purple glint flashing across his Fangs, so fast that even his mech couldn't fully perceive what just happened, but he found out soon a moment later with his machine telling him that all four of the remote weapons he deployed have sustained heavy damage from a single attack, enough to make it very risky to keep flying around if he wishes to get more use out of them. As the Freedom's systems adjusts to the massively increased speed of the enemy, an abrupt and thunderous impact on the back of Kyrie's machine threatened to send it toppling, its auto-balancers and Servosystems being pushed to the utter limits of their construction just to keep it upright.
