Appearance: Russet is rather short and slight, standing only at 5'4" and weighing in around 130 pounds. A pair of reddish brown ears tipped in black push up through his hair at the top of his head. His canine teeth and nails are slightly longer and sharper than normal, and his eyes are a bright orange-red. A trio of pale scars, barely noticeable against his pale skin, run from just below his left eye to his jawline. More scars are scattered across his arms and torso, a testament to the many close calls Russet has managed to survive. He prefers simple clothing in muted colors, but is rarely seen without his heavy red jacket and combat boots. In order to remain as mobile as possible, he eschews all forms of armor.

Semblance: Will-O'-the-Wisp -- With a snap of his fingers, Russet creates a small colorless orb of what appears to be flame. He can then project this wisp with a minor effort of will, launching it very rapidly over a short distance, with speed diminishing greatly after about ten yards. When the wisp strikes a solid surface it creates an explosion of raw force. This ability functions best when augmented with Dust. Various types of Dust change the color of the wisp and add a myriad of elemental effects to the explosion.

Weapon Name: Brutal Trick

Weapon Appearance/Function: Brutal Trick is a large bowie knife with a pair of short shotgun barrels affixed along the spine of the blade. The pair of triggers that can fire each barrel independently are midway down the handle, where Russet's first two fingers typically rest. The blade and barrels both rotate forward to allow the weapon to be breach loaded.

Weapon Derivation: Bowie knife, sawed-off shotgun
Holstered/Sheathed Appearance: Russet carries his weapon in a specially designed sheath across the small of his back. This sheath is made of black leather and is roomy enough to house the dual shotgun barrels. It also has a pouch along the bottom designed to store ammunition.

Personality: There are only three things on the face of Remnant that Russet has ever admitted to loving; himself, making money, and having a good time. In the pursuit of the latter two, he comes off as a sarcastic and unapologetic mercenary who will do nearly anything to see his job finished. Despite his focus in combat and during assignments, he seems to be endlessly care-free and confident. Even when seriously pressed in combat, he offers insults and banter as often as actual violence. Though it is clear he has no qualms about violence or killing, he seems to dislike harming women and those too young to "really know their place in the world." Off the battlefield he displays a hearty helping of charisma, wit, and cunning.

History: Russet was born and raised in a village west of Mistral, among the swamps that populate the region. Though the village itself was rather poor, the Vulpes family had it worse than most. Due to his father's constant trips into the swamps to hunt in order to support his family, he was mostly raised by his mother. Even then, the two spent most of their time either begging from their fellow citizens or foraging near the edges of the settlement to stave of hunger. Eventually, Russet's father left on a trip from which he never returned, leaving his mother overtaken by sorrow. Determined to become more than either of his parents ever were, Russet lied, cheated, and stole his way into a primary combat school.

After distinguishing himself at Sanctum as an able combatant and cunning scholar and strategist, Russet made his way to Haven Academy. While there he worked with team HRQN (Harlequin), made up of three other Faunus he had become friends with during his time at Sanctum and led by Hunter Jackson. The four became well-known for the numerous practical jokes they played against anyone who bothered to look down on or bully Faunus members of the community.

Having graduated from Haven, team HRQN stayed together for only a short time. Beyond the influence of the school and administrators, it became increasingly apparent to the others that Russet was willing to do nearly anything in the pursuit of money and enjoying himself. After a particularly violent argument during which Russet gained several of his scars and Hunter was twice maimed (losing an eye and half of his left rabbit ear) the fox faunus turned his back on those he once called friends. Free of the concerns and objections of the other Huntsmen, Russ was free to take on some of the less wholesome assignments offered by less-than-reputable employers. He found that he enjoyed the work, for the most part, and certainly enjoyed the large paychecks that came with it. Now able to maintain a lifestyle he considers comfortable, he spends most of his time outside of jobs drinking and otherwise throwing his cash around with little concern.

If it makes ya feel better first I was making a fox faunus, nope already got one here, first weapon was gonna be a fan, na that's taken too. Then I was going for steel claws, oh whoops a character already has a weapon like that, then finally got Hitsuji with her brass knuckles. Hate making characters that are similar to others in a roleplay so had to go through several incarnations.

Though I do agree that personality and history are important, I think in this case the GM wanted to keep some mystery between our characters, which is why V made it optional. I will be adding a Personality since I usually feel I need one, but otherwise it's up to the player what they want to include.

Appearance:
Standing at 5'6" and weighing around 110 lbs, it's fairly obvious that Raelyn is a fighter. She's covered in more than enough bruises and scars to ward off anyone who was brave enough to even get that close and given her nonchalant demeanour, she can often clear rooms of civilians from her looks alone. She doesn't speak a lot but her lifeless stare is enough to make anyone reconsider their life choices. Her appearance itself seems to change with the wind - one day she'll be a fiery blonde with sparkling blue eyes and the next her hair will be black as night with eyes to match that. For that reason, not a lot of people can recognise her except for a few defining features, namely the large tattoo of a beowolf on her shoulder and the scar running up her cheek, dodging her eye and bridging her eyebrow.

In terms of clothing, Rae seems to have an ethereal fascination with hats and aviator glasses. There is one particular pair of glasses which she seems to always have on her person and like her features, her hats seem to change daily. Some surmise that she has a massive hat collection, others just reckon she likes stealing hats. Her clothing is usually casual and typically things that really shouldn't be worn when going into battle.

Rae was always a bit of an oddity when she was training to become a huntress, primarily due to the fact that she seemed to have no semblance whatsoever. Even in dire situations, no mystic power would be produced to help her. For that reason, she was considered dangerously different and most avoided her like the plague. It wasn't exactly easy having to rely on fighting only but she did it and somehow reached her final year before it finally chose to reveal itself. The school was attacked by a horde of grimm and caught up in the action, she was very nearly tore to shreds. She lost a lot of blood and by the time the medics reached her, it wasn't looking good. They were forced to give her a blood transfusion to save her life but the effects were... weird.

Not only did she rapidly heal without the need for surgery but her very features seemed to change - her eye colour became a healthy green and her hair burned to a fiery red. The effects were short-lasting but shocking nonetheless. Tests on her blood seemed to indicate normality but direct injections of substances into her bloodstream changed her radically. When she got older, she went on to trying injections of liquid dust and that's when the real fun started.

Appearance: While she is certainly not at all shy about her appearance while in combat or on the job, when in casual settings she prefers to draw less attention to herself., she is often wearing a wide brimmed hat and long sleeved loose jacket that she can easily slide half or completely off to allow her unique Left arm to be unencumbered.

Semblance: Dust Eater: when activated a sickly black mist starts to drift from Carlin's mouth. In this state she can actually consume dust and temporarily channel it's power through her cybernetic arm in explosive bursts. When she inhales deeply, the mist makes something of a swirling vortex that can consume dust based attacks but she can only perform that technique if she isn't already channeling a type of dust.

Weapon Name: The Balder Mk I

Weapon Appearance/Function: Her left arm is a complex cybernetic prosthetic that can channel her aura as well as dust she consumes. A compartment in the palm opens up and can fire focused bursts of aura at a similar rate to a semi-automatic rifle and with similar levels of force. It is very durable and lends her a great deal of strength, making it a very effective in hand to hand or in wielding or other weapon. When She consumes dust she can channel it through Balder and produce a verity of dust-witch like effect. She can only channeled one dust a time and each charge, regardless of the amount of dust consumed only lasts a minute.

Weapon Name: Unrelenting Aegis

Weapon Appearance/Function: A buckler like shield, it can deploy short blade from the edges and spine like a buzz-saw. It is about a 2 feet in diameter, while not large it is uncannily sturdy. She uses it both defensively, for blunt force and slashing/sawing attacks.
Type: Melee, Defensive
Holstered/Sheathed Appearance: kept on her left side most of the time, when not in use it appears as a disk about 5 inches in diameter.
Form s: Simply put, its forms are saw mode on ( buckler/buzzsaw )or saw mode off ( just a buckler).

Personality: Rough around the edges would be fair to say. She is straight forward and takes very little guff from anyone. She holds herself with confidence and a sort of readiness that begs fools to invite violence upon themselves. She operates with a sort of cold callousness, not often one to form lasting bonds or long term partnerships. She will do everything she can to get the job done, and that about it. Don't expect her to go taking a bullet for anyone unless that's what she's being paid to do.

History: While the more in-depth details of her past, family, childhood, and the circumstances that put in the situation that made her what she is today, she will tell anyone who asks about why she is the way she was. When she was barely old enough to qualify for battle school she was entered into a special research project by the Atlas Military. She was a Dust sensitive youth, with the potential to become a dust witch, much like the famed huntress Glenda Goodwitch.

The Atlas military scientists wanted to study her and children like her and see how this powers could be applied to their science, augmented by technology, and further weapon zed. What you see today was the final result on their projects on her. A living weapon, able to combat dust users with their own power. After she became accustomed to her power she was of course to powerful for them to hold onto, and she escaped. On the lamb and un-trusting of any official organizations she quickly and naturally slid into the life of a 'fallen huntress' as many of her piers are called.

Why? Well, a girl's got to eat and upkeep on her working parts isn't exactly something that can be managed on pocket change. But more than either of those reasons, she loves putting all of that Atlas's scientists bastards hard work to bad use.

Semblance: Bastion: A strange semblance that passively increases Sol's overall physical prowess and defensive abilities, but she can sacrifice one or two augment to strengthen another in the form of attack, defense, and speed. What's even more odd is that she can completely nullify one category for the time being to mix the other two together for a variety of combos.

Weapon Name: Ruin

Weapon Appearance/Function: A massive great sword made from the bones of a giant lizard like Grimm as a base then strengthened with various metals, cogs and gears to make a truly frightening weapon. Six feet long from the tip of the blade to the handle, the sword itself was so massive the handle had to be integrated with it to add more stability but nothing could help the weight. There is a place not to far from the end of the handle leading to the blade where Sol can shove her entire arm inside to transform it, causing the bladed portion to collapse and the weapon to shorten to four feet; the tip will open up and be replaced by a barrel. In this form the weapon becomes an arm cannon that converts Dust into raw energy to fire a particle beam in an emergency the canon can feed on Sol's aura to fire.

Weapon Derivation: Sword and a RailGun

Holstered/Sheathed Appearance: The sword doesn't really have a real sheath but there is a carrying case for the weapon that runs the length of her body that can be used to house it.

Personality: Sol can be best described as that person at school with loads of potential and sometimes talent who spends all day sleeping in class but being wide awake at lunch but still manages to skate by somehow. Short attention span and easily bored Sol seems to have a special ability where she can stop listening to you and still seem like she's giving you her full undivided attention. On a level above that she can be protective and active when she wants to be anyone she regards as a friend or an ally she will attempt to protect, granted it will take her a while to get worked up.

Sol was born into a working class family who survived off the manufacturing of weapons for hunters and huntresses. Her mother would take the commissions in and her father would put them together, the two of them were a good team but being the workaholics they were left little room in their lives for a young Sol who was often neglected or ignored during most days. This lack of attention affected the little one in such a way that her personality became what she saw her parents as; lazy good for nothings. Sleeping and lounging around without purpose was her day to day routine for a good portion of her life coupled with her eating habits Sol was well on her way to becoming a drivless woman with no goals or ambitions, that is until her parents shipped her off to haven to study and become a huntress.

It wasn't like she didn't have basic combat abilities, in fact when she discovered how her semblance worked she actually trained in private when no one was looking mainly during the nights but now as a student she would have to work more than twice as hard. Over those few months at Haven Sol got stronger but her attitude didn't get any better but her team put up with it even learned to like it, being apart of a team felt good even though she'd never admit it to them to belong was foreign but it was a nice little feeling. At the time she only used her fist and abused her Semblance to fight so the need to get better was always hanging over her head especially being that she was her teams heaviest hitter, another nice feeling to be needed and having someone count on her. It was like a dream come true a family she never could have but we all have to wake up to the real world sometime.

It was a random field mission her squad got sent on out to some old abandoned ruins as an escort for some archaeologist, Sol herself decided to duck off and take a quick nap in private before anyone found out, she also needed to hide for a little while because she ate most of the food for the trip. a little while because she ate most of the food for the trip. Screams and the ground shaking woke her up quick, as it turns out that tomb they were sent to investigate was crawling with Grimm and her team was nowhere near prepared to fight off those numbers without their front line Sol. It didn't take long for Sol to find the mangled remains of one of her teammates but finding the others was a challenge, so naturally she began to wave of carnage of her own kill off any Grimm that stood in her way until she found them trapped in a room backs against the wall dead. Needless to say those Grimm never left that tomb and neither did Sol until her friends were buried. Sol was never welcomed back into the school seen and treated like a deserter and in all honesty she felt like it, but she never gave into that feeling. That graveyard of Grimm became the building blocks for her weapon Ruin and for the never ten years she worked and improved as an underground huntress.
