^^^Sounds awesome. I figured I'd let somebody else name the colleges and such. I'm getting settled into my housing arrangements for the next week [I'm house sitting my in-laws place] but I'm around and will link the titanpad from the iCheck in this thread in case there's anybody who wants to chat about the RP or discuss things as they move forward. I'll check in on it every so often, right now I'm fixing myself a mixed drink, cooking a late dinner, and relaxing. Gonna get to work on the opening IC post as well.

Huh, when you said you added Lovecraft stuff I thought you meant it figured into his backstory, not that it was just a tiny postscript right at the end that honestly seems a little tacked on. ^^;

Also bare in mind this is a superhero universe, so we can probably beat the hell out of Cthulu and the like. XD ...And I can kind of see Nyarlathotep being a kind of Loki-esque villain, manipulating things from the background and all. Hmmm...

when I think of cthulhu and his brethren, I think of them as being so powerful that cthulhu alone could break the world. Azathoth will literally destroy the universe when he wakes up in the mythos lol

@Weird Tales I like Capt. Gauntlet... I just don't like the 'Captain' part in his name. A hero from an alternate Earth wasn't something I had planned on yet either as there's already a lot going on character wise... but so long as it's not something that gets mentioned every post I don't have a problem with it.

Been thinking about stuff like that, really. I mean aside from me mentioning that it would be cool to turn Nyarlathotep into a Loki-esque villain, I had the idea of making the head of the Initiative (which seems to be the name I've decided upon for the agency that made Captain Genome) be one of those "superhumans are bad, so we're going to be hypocrites and make our own superhumans to keep them in check" types. Basically like Cadmus I guess? With the idea that, as I vaguely hinted at in Captain Genome's CS, a sizable chunk of the Initiative are still working on their projects in secret or... Something. Needs work but yeah.

On a less wide scale note, I could always try and rustle together some street level villains, basically C-listers and mercenaries really, the type who are less interested in global domination or some big overarching goal and just focus on supercrime for petty reasons like money. Then again, also been trying to figure out a Lex Luthor-ish corporate villain, buuut unfortunately I probably shouldn't handle that because if I did they would literally just be... Well, it's easy to figure out what real world person they'd end up based on. XD

...Oh right, and that joke I made after Powerpuff Girls was mentioned in the interest check about making a rich brat with a power suit might have been more serious than it came off as. >.> <.< Maybe.

I think I'm gonna be petty and go a 180 and fall out. Which doesn't seem like it'll be a big deal because I've pretty much been ignored by KL. Alas. You shall never know how good a villain I was going to make. Suffer in the knowledge it would have been amazing.

@Blue Demon I can't speak for KL but it didn't seem like he was ignoring you (unless you PM'd him or something and he didn't get back to you) But it's easy to lose posts in the OOC, perhaps tagging him would have been better. Considering he did say he wanted help creating villains for this, I am sure your villain would be a great addition to this game.

So hey, this ended up longer than I intended. ^^; It's a brief, rough synopsis of the alien race that Captain Genome gets half her genetic code from; still probably needs a lot of work and fleshing out but it hopefully gives a rough idea of what I'm aiming for at least. Oh right, and tagging @The Kid Lantern because what with him being GM and all he probably needs to look this over to see if it's okay. XD Hoping other people have feedback too, so we can better work out how to slot them into things. Anyways...

Otiga (Venusians)

The Otiga are an alien race hailing from Okanim, the planet we call Venus. In terms of appearance, they are superficially similar to humans, having the same basic build and average size. Their eyes lack pupils and are a bright (almost glowing) yellow, and their hair is pure white and generally sticks up in stiff spikes. Their skintone is a dark grey, they have only four digits on both their hands and feet, and their ears look somewhat fin-like. An Otiga's body generates a bioelectric field, which boosts their physical strength above the human average and allows them to hover for short periods, and due to living so close to the sun they are adapted to warmer climates and can withstand higher amounts of solar radiation than creatures of Earth can.

A scientifically inclined race, the Otiga utilize their bioelectric fields to power their technology, which is far more advanced than what humans are currently capable of using. Otiga scientists and inventors don't take credit for their individual achievements, for they all believe that each new discovery is a blessing from their god, the Machine Mother, who is enshrined in the center of the grand senate of Okanim.

Millenia ago, the Otiga had an alliance with their closest spacefaring neighbours, the inhabitants of the planet humans would later name "Mars". Historical records of that time are fragmented, but what is known is that something called "The Great Betrayal" happened and the two planets were drawn into war with each other. Eventually, the Otiga won, but at a cost; their numbers had been crippled by the war, and so they had to spend thousands of years repopulating and repairing even as the people of Earth progressed and developed outside of their watchful eye. Eventually, during the early 20th century (by Earth's reckoning), they decided to scout out the blue planet, sending a manned probe... Which due to complications unfortunately crash landed nearby Roswell, New Mexico, killing the pilot instantly. In a panic, the operation was aborted whilst the Otiga tried to figure out what they could do next; the war had led them to be cautious of aliens, and so they didn't want to directly approach Earth until they understood whether they were potential allies or an enemy that needed to be crushed before they grew into too much of a threat. And whilst they discussed and debated what to do, a clandestine human organization salvaged the crashed spacecraft...

Okanim (or Venus) has since been equipped with an elaborate planetary defence system to prevent the humans from getting too close, one that makes their probes send back false data on the atmosphere of the planet which makes it seem like a desolate, hellish world unsuitable for life. To keep up this masquerade, any probes that get too close are destroyed by the defence system, with the intention being that this will make the humans think that the "inhospitable climate" was the cause of the destruction. Meanwhile, they still secretly keep tabs on Earth, as the senate continues to debate whether or not they are trustworthy...

Here's a slightly altered CS for sandbox made villains. As noted, @rocketrobie2 helped me brainstorm some of the details. Since villains are often mysterious, they have the option or secret or public identities, and rather than BRIEF Bio will have a Known History section for anything that's known by the general public if they read newspapers and social media.

Alias - Shayd: the Indestructible Man
ID - Secret
Powers - Strength beyond strength, you get what you see here and he's basicaly a black Hulk. His durability is unmatched and he'll outlive us all.
Weaknesses - Not unlike the Hulk, once in awhile his strength will be matched and he'll be caught off guard. He'll always recover though. He's also not immune to telepathic attacks. Gas grenades effect him like they would anyone. Sickness can knock down his strength and durability in a heartbeat. Theoretically if doctors kept viruses in him he COULD be held in a maximum security prison for superhumans.
Appearance -


Known History - If someone were to connect the pieces, he may possibly be born from an experiment at Westman Chemical. Most of the time when Shayd strikes it's involving an employee of Westman Chemical, or one of the factories or labs within the several divisions in New Athens. However no prison can hold him, and nothing can truly stop him.
Notes - This guy will cause city wide destruction in the beginning of the game and be the first sandbox villain. @rocketrobie2 helped me brainstorm some of the details.

@Blue Demon I only see the one asking about if I wanted heroes or villains and it's been said numerous times everything is up to you guys as far as what you create. Supporting superhumans can and will be created as needed by the group. Most of us are heroes or walking the line and we're making sandbox villains. More villains would be fine if that was the route you were going for...
