I've just realized that in all the 9 years I've been part of this site, I've never had to change my name, make an alt account or anything like that!

Small post ending Maeve's interaction with Audrey. Hope it's ok. I really didn't know how exactly to write as Audrey so I tried to make it as brief as possible.

PS: It would be a shame if someone called Maeve right now... Just as she sat down and ordered that hot chocolate she was craving for since the day began...

Maeve Katz

Maeve watched with a discreet giggle as Audrey made an obvious grimace after hearing Maeve's endless questions about her life, but as a doctor, Maeve needed to know about her patient. Just like Audrey probably thought, the examination took a while as Maeve asked about a lot of things, plunged needles on Audrey's arms a few times and heard about her personal life. The fact that Audrey spent so much time in her room or confined on an office repairing AIs was definitely bad for her already fragile health. All that together made Audrey quite a delicate patient to deal with.

After she was finally done with the questions and the examination, Maeve quickly made all the medical equipment disappear inside the small briefcase she brought with her as suddenly as they appeared. It was still a mystery how she was able to put so many things in such a thin and small briefcase...

"It's everything ok, at least for now, Audrey." Maeve said, getting up with a smile on her face.
"But I do need to insist... You should go to the Eden more often... Get out a bit and relax, ok?" Maeve said with a playful wink.

"And you said it wouldn't take too long..." Audrey said, rubbing her arms on the spots Maeve had used to draw her blood.
"Regarding the Eden... I can think about going there if I can finish this..." Audrey said, as she quickly started picking up her tablet again.

Maeve knew very well that that was her cue to leave. Audrey probably had other things to do and with Maeve there, she really wouldn't be able to focus.

"This time I'm not lying though..." Maeve said with a laugh.
"I won't take much more of your time. Just remember of feeding yourself well. If you feel anything, please call me." Maeve said, winking to her as she got out of her room.

As Maeve walked back towards the Pub, now decided to buy that cup of hot chocolate she was craving for before she went to check up on Audrey, she couldn't help but think that she was forgetting about something... Something she had to do maybe? But as she got closer to the store, the delicious smell of hot chocolate quickly made her worries go away. Whatever it was that she had forgotten, probably wasn't that important... right?

"Finally!" Maeve said, getting in the store almost hopping with happiness.
"I could kill for some hot chocolate right now!" She said to herself with a giggle as she sat down on the table, waiting for her order to arrive.

Fixing Chres' part.

Also, sure! no problems in killing him. Regarding him, he is a general through and through. A bit... distant as a father and often treats Karina more as an officer than as his daughter. Just like Karina, has a very strong personality. He is a man of few, firm words.

About his past, nothing too much notable other than the fact that he really loved Karina's mother, and after she died he basically started living for his work, trying to forget about the pain of losing her. That's probably the reason why he is so distant from Karina.
Karina Frost

The strange man who called himself Gin vanished in the same sudden and mysterious way he appeared. Leaving no traces of his presence there other than Karina and the other's own memories of what happened. As soon as he disappeared, things went back to normal. Whoever that Gin man was, he was undeniably powerful. To do something as freeze time itself wasn't something that Karina thought it was even possible...

The nobleman and the royal guardsmen were the first ones to talk with the innkeeper, who was completely oblivious to what had just happened, asking for jade candles and a room.

Karina still had many things on her mind. A lot of things to think about such as the situation itself, how to fight against the cult or even how to contact the forward camp to tell them the information she gathered until now, but as much as she wanted to be by herself and just meditate about all that, she couldn't ignore Hark's words. Someone indeed should keep an eye on Chres... Just as Gin said previously, he was 'touched' by the cult's so called 'insight'... Whatever it was...

Sighing deeply, Karina turned to the Innkeeper with an awkward smile.

"You probably know already what I'm going to ask for." She said.

"Just a room and jade candles. I'm afraid that it will be hard to sleep this night." Karina said, with a troubled expression. Many different things were troubling her mind. She couldn't afford to just be her careless self. She wasn't home, she was in enemy territory, and to make things worse, the cult was quickly proving to be much worse than the Nation of Sight...

Looking towards the others who also 'present' and heard what Gin said with a serious, analyzing stare, she finally said:

"We have much better chances of getting out of this alive if we work together. Any questions, any suggestions or ideas you might have, I would be grateful to be informed about." Karina said, looking to them.

"As much as I dislike this... I have no choice but to trust both Gin and you all... No offense, of course." Karina completed.
"That said... Even though not just I... But we all are in a complicated situation, if anyone tries anything funny, I won't think twice to deal with them myself." Karina said, looking to Chres as he went up the stairs with an icy cold stare and a neutral, but firm tone. Her stare and her tone made it clear that she was being serious. Even though she said that specifically referring to Chres, it was also a warning to the other ones as well. The feeling that small, delicate girl passed was nothing like her image.

Once more, the way Karina acted at that moment was nothing like a courier would act. It was almost a dead giveaway. But seeing the situation she was in, maintaining her disguise wasn't the first priority anymore. She had to be sure she would be able to get to the forward camp to tell her superiors of everything she saw and heard. The plan to infiltrate herself in enemy territory for a reconnaissance mission was ruined, or if you looked at it by a different angle, succeeded the second Gin appeared and after everything happened. In fact, the second she entered that town and started hearing about the cult more and more from many different people, made her stop dismissing such unlikely and absurd rumors as just fabricated stories. The events on that last hour though confirmed what she was thinking previously. All those absurd rumors about how powerful the cult really are were not fabricated lies. The real threat wasn't the nation of sight. It never was. The real threat was the cult.

Working on my post right now.

Oh, just a thing. Karina, although she is undercover, is still a high ranking officer in the military of the nation of touch.
She can't just ignore direct orders from her higher ups if they somehow find a way to send those orders to her while she is on field.

If the emperor indeed goes in a mad rage due to Y'lleant's little 'gift', the military will be probably pressed to act sooner than they normally would. Even though they need only to show the emperor the results (aka. strategy and how the war will go on is basically the military's business) they can't ignore the emperor if he order them to attack the nation of sight immediately.

Also, if you want to use Karina's father (as the general), I have no problems with it. In fact, i would even enjoy if you did so XD
Bast Ragoczy

"Power is merely a consequence from obtaining knowledge, Joshua." Bast said with a smirk after hearing his words.

Power was never Bast's first priority, yet, he was indeed powerful. Maybe even more than others who were specifically searching for power. Certainly he wasn't as strong as a warrior or as fast as a centaur by himself. But his knowledge, his experience and his magic made him an incredibly troublesome opponent to deal with.
But on one thing, Bast had to agree with Joshua.

"Image... Yes. I must agree. Image is indeed very important." Bast said, with a smirk. He was a prime example of that statement. Always incredibly elegant, even on the most unlikely of places. Bast's presence was certainly an impactful one... But not because of his power, which he was sure to maintain hidden as much as possible, but merely for his personality and his clothes.

"Image can be, in many occasions, more impactful than power. Fear, admiration, cautiousness... It can inspire many feelings on others" Bast continued with a smile of satisfaction on his face. At least Joshua knew the proper value of having a good image.

"Not entirely hopeless. I can respect a man who know the value of a proper image..." Bast said, looking to Joshua.

When Joshua started talking about his sister, Bast couldn't help but listen carefully. His sister was certainly... Interesting....

"Do you want to meet her?" Joshua asked.

"I do believe she's presiding over a trial right now. Or would you like to stay here and continue insulting me? I have to admit though, you're pretty good at it." He finished, waiting for Bast's answer.

"You surely flatter me." Bast said with a mocking bow as Joshua said how good Bast was at insulting others.
"Words can be as sharp as any sword..." he completed.
"But... yes. I won't lie. I'm very interested in your sister. She seems to be a very entertaining woman to deal with." He said, with a mischievous smirk.

"After all... I do enjoy flirting with danger." Bast said with a chuckle.

Freyr

As soon as they got near the town of Ambran, they met the nun they were supposed to find. Instead of being inside the city, she was outside, just at the entrance, asking for charity.
Surely that wasn't a good idea... Ambran was already a dangerous town and the nun wasn't even inside it. In Freyr's opinion, that was basically waiting for something bad to happen.

As she asked for charity, Freyr couldn't help but think on the money the strange man gave to them. He didn't have any particular use to money, but they should take some back to the guild, right? And he didn't know if Magnus wanted some, so instead of giving everything, he simply grabbed a handful of coins, still leaving plenty of coins inside the sack and simply handed it to the nun.

"I... Think she needs this more than I do. Don't worry, there is still some for us to bring back to the guild." Freyr whispered to Magnus.

"We are from the guild. We heard that you were here asking for charity..." Freyr said, looking to the old nun.
"These lands are dangerous and its inhabitants are certainly not kind..." he said. It was obvious that Freyr was struggling to try to convince the nun. Magnus probably knew very well he wasn't good with words.

Looking to Magnus almost if he was asking for help on that situation.

Aight! Thanks. I won't do anything too big though. Will basically just make Maeve finish examining Audrey and then go out to the hub again (and maybe get a call from her very angry superior cos she doesn't act like she is in the military at all )
