I'm gonna go to bed. I seriously think the disease option is going to be the one I'll keep. It fits the classic vampire the best as well as giving options for a couple of off shoots that still are clearly vampires. The genetics idea feels like its almost too original like it would be an ok center to a story purely about vampires.

i would have to agree. if we were making a new world, it would make more sense. but we are working within established lines, so the disease thing makes more sense. but the genetics idea is super rad and maybe we could make a vampire rp later on down the line who knows

#5 would make Atlas' need for blood completely useless so he'd have to go and re-write like 5 gigantic posts, and for #6 I think making a vampire sterile wouldn't make much sense. Infertility in men is caused by low-sperm count, and if we want to show our vampires as these hyped up super-humans who can heal a lost limb, it wouldn't make sense to have them have to face such problems that could be easily fixed by their powers.

i dont see anything really contradictory with my posts. he doesnt like blood because of his PTSD, although i could be forgetting something.

Vote for me and I'll make sure no one can tell! #Witch4Pres2k16
#Can't Burn the Witch!

i prefer the disease option #AIDS oh shit no wait
@jasonwolf science more like STUPID. speaking of jobs my wannabe screenwriting is really affecting my IC posts, if you couldnt tell already
I think we should take a vote for either @Witch Cat or @jasonwolf 's ideas. I personally vote for the disease one because i believe it has more potential.
Well we have killing down entirely. holy weapons, stakes in the heart, (basically all the classic things), Eviscerating the body (decapitation then chopping up the body is just to much anything that is just silly to regenerate from), and magic imbued weapons.

1. I think we can all agree it should be spread from vampire to a person they bite. We have to decide if they die then or they die later.

2. I feel like the whole minion thing would be better to a type of vampire (if we go with science stuff. Pheromones are how.)

4. I would go with disease strains. I can't really find an outside trait that makes sense really.

5. I want to say because vampires don't have the blood they need to keep going. Blood has almost no use besides being blood. If it was to feed they'd mostly be drinking water.

6. I think in the end we should just go with sterile. In any version that function of the body is just scrapped.

oh thatd be cool as shit, like a strain of vampirism that lets you release minion pheromones. who knew vampire science was such fun lmao.
Ok. So, things I want to get an official answer on are:

1. How does one become a vampire?
2. How does a vampire make a minion?
3. How do you destroy a vampire or a minion?
4. Why are there different types of vampires or different powers?
5. Why do vampires drink blood?
6. Can a vampire make a living baby or a half-breed (please god no lol)?

1. Bitten, and given the gene or trait
2. I would have to ask jasonwolf on that one
3. Sunlight, religion, etc. but with minions I would think guns would work
4.Due to mutations
5. Because they cannot produce it by themselves
6.no
So, this is turning into one huge mess. Ugh so many posts! Anyway, @Wraithblade6's idea of vampirism is a more simple and traditional, keeping the whole theme of magic. @jasonwolf describes it as a disease, a cancer, more focus on the fact magic is science. And I see it as a mix of both. A little 9th grade biology, and a demon thrown in for good measure. All good ideas, so which do we pick?

I think the disease version allows for the most flexibility with character backstories, and with equal opportunity for different traits. the more traditional method leaves less flexibility in the backstory
@jasonwolf yeah, that could work. a comrpomise between the two ideas should work. like the cells cant make blood, so you need to steal it from others.
@Wraithblade6 yeah and it explains why people thought they were undead back when the body is in a near total shut down. Cause really the only undead I see reasonable are specifically controlled puppets where the necromancer is channeling mana to give the body energy to move and their thoughts control the actions.

I would think that, if we are following the disease logic, the reason vampires are considered undead is due to low body temperature
