We have seen that before Sardonyx...The first time we see Opal she did the same thing with the whip and spear before pulling them together to make her bow. It was just a little faster than Sardonyx because she didn't to it all flashy.

I don't know if they have to do that every time though :/

I found her to be funny because her weirdness is just off the charts. She is suppose to be flashy and snobbish because she is like a tv talkshow host with magicain mix. I do find her a bit annoying but not completely. I sadly have mixed feelings about Sardonyx because of the reasons she was formed other than the first time which is unfortunate.
