As mentioned above, point systems are stupid and silly. They have no use but to restrict our creativity and quite frankly, they make no sense in non table-top rp.

For me, the plot could be anything from something very complex and multi-layered or very basic and simple. However, I would say that stats used for the character sheets shouldn't be implemented. It just takes a big of the fun from the fights characters would get into. It also limits people on how high they can go, should they want to do so, that is.

As a roleplayer who does use a lot of anime-themed pictures for my characters, I agree with the statement above. In Roleplays such as High School games and the like, the anime pics can be used properly. However, as you stated, Alien, in the realistic settings like Dystopian and the like, then Real life pics are preferred and should be used.

It's been in my experience that those who join rps in the beginning with all the greatest intentions to commit, but something happens — be it intimidated by the quality said rp has, the people playing elitist or whatever — and they drop it like a hot potato. It sucks, yeah, but I don't really blame them. At least, not entirely.
