Yes. It is much better. No one likes a weirdo who stares at prosthetic legs. That's just creepy.
For me, the plot could be anything from something very complex and multi-layered or very basic and simple. However, I would say that stats used for the character sheets shouldn't be implemented. It just takes a big of the fun from the fights characters would get into. It also limits people on how high they can go, should they want to do so, that is.
