what can we do to help improve roleplayer guild?

I'm also in favor of a blacklist, knowing I'll make it on there. In fact, I might just start one in my own discord server. Just posting names and such of people that are notoriously bad for RP's.

Are we not at the point where this change is a bit too late? I feel like this is a realization we should've had from the start. Not now that we're realizing there might be a problem.

The issue isn't whether or not people realize the problem, the issue is the amount. I think almost everyone who frequents the bitch thread knows about the issues, recognizes the issues and combats them, but the simple fact is that the majority of the site doesn't regular the bitch thread- much less the discussion threads like this.

Alright well if you want to volunteer to be map maker for this roleplay I wouldn't be against it. However it seems a lot of hassle to be doing this every post/turn. It also doesn't help that we have no post order. Post orders in my opinion have lead to people waiting on one person who never actually posts leaving us stuck waiting for weeks possibly only to get nowhere.

The above didn't have an order either, it just updates at the end of every turn. It's also maybe like, 20 minutes of work at most once I
have gathered all the necessary assets. It's really no problem for me if it helps up the production quality of the RP just a tiny bit.

I won't do it for this battle, though. This one's almost over =P

More over it's just a barren oval shaped arena that we're fighting in.

I mean, you just draw an oval and place a few letters inside of it. This way you can show where everyone is standing and give us a clearer idea of space. I mean, not that we have to go this far, but this is my work (admittedly, inherited from another user) for another RP.

Does RPGuild Need More People?

What we need is people without commitment issues. Don't fucking post if you are going to drop without a word. If you are going to post stick with it.

We've got the same number of active players as everyone else. At this moment Aniroleplay has about 300 members online, for example. And we're significantly larger than others like rPol. You just feel like the site is smaller than it is because:

• No one posts often enough.
• When they do post, it's in a larger range of short-lived roleplays, instead of fewer threads which last longer.

I do think that we need to start culturally shaming the abandonment of RPs, if not punishing these players officially in some way. As it stands they face no consequences for their actions and that's why nothing ever changes.

I do agree with this sentiment, but I also would like to point out that the issue of non-dedication is hardly an RPGuild thing, heck, RPGuild is probably only average in how problematic it is. This sort of thing happens in any place you can RP down to sites not even designed for it, and even with way larger communities(RPnation comes to mind) I also see a larger amount of uninspired and dead roleplays. It's not like our community has a higher percentile of droppers, they're just more prominent because the people complaining about it on this specific site also tend to primarily use RPGuild.

To get back to the main topic at hand, I, for one, don't think we NEED more users. I would prefer to have more dedicated players join the site, but in general, with more people joining the above problem will still exist and remain.

Oh, also, Vance. Have you considered making some basic maps to visualize the action? It wouldn't need to follow specific rules, just give a bit of insight on who's where. I could help out if you want.
