@ItMeGritty, I'm going to have to remove you from the RP. Some players expressed concern with you being a part of the RP and I asked around the rest. Some were OK with you being here, but from most I got the impression they'd rather not deal with you. Since I don't really want to have my players deal with a person they don't want to deal with, I'm going to have to bar you access from this RP and retroactively reject your application.

Apologies if it felt like I was leading you on, but this is the decision I've come to.

With Gritty's removal, though, it leaves the state of the base a bit wonky. I don't have anything for Keita to do on his own, so I'll need some feedback on how to make that work.

I'd like to move Charak's character back to the base since I don't see any reason why Keita would tag along for the mods, but I don't have anything to give the both of them to do.

If I remember right, duel runners are in part powered by duel energy or some shit like that, so a duel to kickstart it and get it back to normal might make sense? Would also sort of start things off with some action and resting out some Turbo Dueling in the RP.

Yo I like this idea.

Yeah, in 5D's Duel Runners/D-Wheels were powered by Ener-D or Momentum in Japanese. Turbo duels generated energy inside a perpetual motion machine that powered both the city and the individual runner's engine. I think Speed World might've been the carrier to re-route it to the core system, though 5D's was a bit vague with how this tech worked.

Ener-D / Momentum also turned into a nuke like 3 times, but we don't talk about that.

Figured it was aimed at everyone there and not just me. Was mostly waiting to see what the others thought.

Honestly don't really have an answer for you, though. Getting 4 people to be online at roughly the same time for a collab is a pretty big nightmare as-is, but if you feel you don't have enough to work with for a post, then that comes down to me giving you a poor opener.

Standing at 162cm, Akane is a short young woman with medium length red hair tied in a ponytail. Upon looking at her face, one might immediately notice the yellow criminal mark on her left cheek, as if to match her bright amber eyes. Her style of dress is light and fairly consistent, not that there's much to change into. A zipped up red bomber jacket covers a worn-out grey tee, the collar of which can be just seen peeking out from under the jacket. She also wears a pair of black shorts over black tights, with a pair of black high-top sneakers covering her feet. She also has a belt tied messily around her waist over her jacket, with a holster in the back holding her deck.

Personality:
Akane has a strong desire to fight for the weak and powerless, but she certainly doesn't show it. In fact, she comes across more as standoffish and rude. However, deep inside she burns with a strong sense of justice and morality, and a desire to fight against any sort of oppression.

Despite being a member of the Bulwark Breakers, Akane has no interest in duel gang warfare. In fact, she sees them as a waste of time and no more than a distraction from the true enemy, the system of inequality within Terminus, represented by the ruling class towering over the Core, and the District Security oppressing the Collar. Her hatred for them is so strong that she regularly picks fights with Security, a pursuit that has caused her to land in the Detention Center a couple years back. It is because of this hatred that she displays such contempt against the people of the Collar even if she wants to fight for them, viewing them as confused fools who fight more with themselves than against their true oppressors.

However, the Bulwark Breakers seem different. Their goal actually means something, something that Akane believes in. That wall is a symbol of the oppression suffer by the Collar, and to that end, Akane does not want to just bypass the wall, she wants to breach the wall. By this act, Akane hopes to show the denizens of the Collar that change is possible, and maybe then the people will finally start fighting back.

History:
Growing up in the Core, Akane always had a strong sense of right-and-wrong even when she was young. She wasn't just the type to confront bullies, she would even confront teachers if she thought other kids were being treated unfairly. After graduating, Akane became a journalist. As her career started out, she mostly covered stories in the Collar, duel gang warfare and how Security was dealing with them mostly. But something about the conditions in the Collar spoke to her, and she soon started writing powers observing the systems of power in Terminus, and questioning the hegemony. Given that the Core lived in relative comfort, her more dissident pieces earned her few fans, not that it ever dissuaded her.

As she dug deeper and pushed farther, she eventually came upon something incredible, something she thought was sure was going to cause the people of the Core to question the system if they had just known about it. But the Core always finds a way to protect itself. Not a week passed before she was arrested and banished to the Collar.

With her livelihood completely destroyed and now forced to find a new way of life, Akane was in shock. At first she wandered around the Collar aimlessly, taking odd jobs just to survive. But as she continued to observe life in the Collar, including the rise of duel gang violence, and the strangle-hold of Security, the flames of rage within her began to ignite once more.

She began to build a deck and her own Duel Runner. Daily she would dig through the junkyards of Clockwork, rummaging through the piles of scraps to eventually build something to let her fight back. Of course, back then it was also not uncommon for the Doomraisers to come in and chase her away. Eventually, she came across someone named Takuma, who was starting his own duel gang. At first she was not convinced, but when he mentioned their goal to eventually get into the Core, Akane realized the opportunity that was laid before her.

With the Doomraisers gone, Akane could build her Duel Runner in peace. Since that time, she's used her Duel Runner to run a small delivery service between Clockwork and Guts. That is, if she's not busy picking fights with Security in her spare time. She's already been arrested for it once, and since then she's been smarter about the fights she picks. However, she's always waiting, always ready, for her chance to attack.

Oblivion: A Story Forgotten

Falling into the eternal darkness.

There's no thoughts, pressure, feeling or emotion. The cold and the heat are interchangeable, neither fully brushing your skin. A feeling of floating, as if you're just barely not reaching the floor. There is no movement while you're in constant motion. It's comforting. It's terrifying. It's neither and both. It's a contradiction borne from nothing, continuing to something, starting in void, ending in oblivion.

This isn't what you want. This isn't what I want. This isn't what anyone wants.

Not even a nobody would accept this situation that they're in. That nobody would struggle 'till the last breath. A nobody has nothing to lose and everything to gain. Maybe there's just one more shot if you reach for that glimmer of hope beyond the great and vast emptiness. One more chance. A nobody would need just one more chance.

The nobody wishes for it. That call for power and autonomy, no matter how small the chance their voice be heard. It's not even a wish, more like a demand, damned be that a nobody would resign themselves to nothing. The voice does not reverberate, but a voice comes back still.

Stability. Footing. A chance. The nobody feels it- feels them. The footsteps carrying them forward. The only things binding them between This and That.

Step. Step. Step.

Huh. Thought the apping process was going to be like a standard RP where you'd write something to the prompt in a PM / the OOC first and only get it to the IC if the GM thinks you're coolbeans.

Are we allowed to just plop it straight into the IC like that or am I missing something?
