Current Ever had that moment were you've just lost a battle of wills with your dog and think to yourself, "maybe I should be the one sleeping on the floor"? I have. It's oddly liberating.

My Lit Lecturer used Matt Fraction's Hawkeye run to display the effect of narratology in class today. It's the first thing he's spoken about all term that I've actually read.

How good is the Punisher in Netflix's Daredevil series? "Just some guys who are about to walk into a diner for the last time." That line is so manly it could make a toddler sprout a beard.

The Justice League trailer is giving me mixed emotions. On the one hand, I desperately want to get hyped. On the other, Snyder and co have burnt me too many times in the past. I'm a conflicted mess.

What? The Lethal Weapon tv show isn't utter garbage at all, instead being an enjoyable watch. What the fuck is the world coming to?

@Keksalot Actually that reminds me, there was a second point I wanted to raise. Pighead's ability to nullify any and all super abilities, how does it work? The DC universe is what TV Tropes describes as a fantasy kitchen sink. There is no unified source for 'superpowers' in DC, so how could one source to nullify powers work on all of them? How could one ability stop the Flash from accessing the speedforce while also blocking Green Lanterns willpower based light constructs. Then there's the question of what's classed as a super ability and whats not. Superman's abilities look wondrous to us, but they're bog standard powers for a Kryptonian under a yellow sun. Does that mean that he's beyond Pighead's capacity to affect, as Kal-Els super-abilities are merely abilities to him?

@Divine Darkness I can definitely get behind somebody representing the king of the seas!

@Lord Wraith I'm just waiting for someone to apply as B'wanna Beast. He's always a fan favorite. Hint hint @Hillan.

@Chaotic Chao Which Wally? New Wally or Wally classic?

This took off quicker than I imagined. I'm working on an OOC at the moment, but in case anyone would like to start working on their characters in the meantime I've added a sample CS to the first post in this thread. No guarantee that's exactly what the finished product is going to look like, but it'll give you a good working platform to begin with.
Thanks for all the interest guys! If I don't mention you directly here then it's only because there's only so many ways I can say 'Thanks for the interest, really hope we can have you aboard', without sounding like a pleb. Regardless if you do have any other questions, or would like someone to bounce character ideas off while I get an OOC started then I'm always available here or by PM.

As an aside it looks like a lot of the interest is towards badass normal types, which is fine. But remember, you'll be taking the role of the Justice League, so it would make sense to have some heavy hitters on the roster, otherwise the first time an Imperiex probe rocks up to earth we're gonna be in trouble.

@GreenGrenade Well, you know what they say GG. Great minds steal each others ideas. Either way, I hope you can get on board pal.

@Polyphemus Hey Poly, great to see you! I'd love to see you take on the Question! And as to the roster of the JL then I must admit to flubbing the DC canon somewhat. The League features all it's classic members, plus Cyborg. The reason they get way with still calling themselves the big seven is somewhat of a cheat, as Batman vehemently insists that he's only a reserve member (much like the Justice League cartoon) and as such isn't counted among the regular team, even know he's with them just as much as Superman or Wonder Woman.

@Keksalot Thanks for the interest pal, though I do have some concerns about the sheer level of grimdark there. It sounds more Manhunt than Martian Manhunter to me. I know there is a rich history of DC psychopaths, but remember there's still got to be a vein of campy goodness in these characters. I mean the Jokers a pretty bizarre individual nowadays, a man who cut off his own face just for giggles, but he's still the same guy that used to throw cream pies at cops, and once had a surfing contest with Batman. I struggle to see Pighead in that same light. Of course I'd need to see a sheet before really passing judgement, but I'd just thought I'd air my concerns.

@LadyRunic Sounds like an interesting concept. I could get on board with it, especially as it looks like her crimes were hardly the most severe.

@Lord Wraith Mate, you can have any Dick you like. I'd prefer him still as Nightwing considering taking up the cowl at the start of the RP, but he can definitely work towards taking up the cowl himself. After all, who's better suited than Dick?

Jean Paul Valley? No, shutup.

The Justice League. The Big Seven. The Brave and the Bold. Earth's Greatest Heroes.

THE Super Team.

Formed five years ago in the wake of a threat too severe for any one of it's member to handle alone, the League has served as earth's first, foremost and greatest defense against all those that would threaten her. They have proved not only their worth, but their very necessity time and time again, giving hope to a world that would have long since lost it without them. They are a constant and reassuring presence that humanity can, and will survive any threat.

Or at least they were. . .

Not a single member of the League has been seen in over a month. Superman hasn't been glimpsed soaring the skies of Metropolis, nor have Gotham criminals been suffering broken bones and humiliating beatings at the hand of the Batman. The Magnificent Seven have vanished, and left not a trace as to their whereabouts. It has been peaceful in their absence thus far, but a frightened world holds it's breath, waiting for the other shoe to drop. And it will drop, have no doubts about that.

It's only a matter of time for someone - or something - to take advantage of an earth that lacks it's greatest champions. . .

Still with me after all that boring backstory? Good, let's continue.

In Justice League: Legacy the players character will have the unenviable task of filling in for the Justice League. Those guys left some impressively big shoes to fill, and although it's a task of Herculean proportions it falls down to you to fill them. Also while your out there protecting the planet from would-be despots, tyrannical inter-dimensional God's, and maniacally murderous clowns you'll also be digging into the mystery of what actually happened to the Big Seven.

I'd like to leave character creation as open as reasonably possible, so that means you have the option to make an OC or redesign a canon character. Hell, maybe you'd like to try and make a villain who decides it's time to have a go at redemption, the skies the limit here people. My only requests is that your character makes sense within the general confines of the DC universe, and that there is an actual reason for them to be a part of this new Justice League.

While the RP wont be a sandbox style, my GM-ing style and preference does allow for a scope of player independence. While I don't mind having to hold the hands of a group of passive Peters, and that I do have an overarching story line in mind, I would like to see any potential players volunteer up their own ideas for side and sub-plots. This is going to be your world as well as mine, so take the reins people!

Well, with that all out of the way, is anyone interested?

Any questions just ask.

Now has a OOC
Apologies for the lateness of this message but I'm afraid I'm going to have to drop this. Don't have as much free time as I once did. Hopefully see you all again when I manage to organise RL into something resembling order.

Cheers, Sam.
@BlackSam3091 is here!

Apply with Lisa!

It's so very, very tempting, but I'm really not sure if I have the time. Maybe if I shuffle some things and stop taking time out of my day to eat and wash, I might be able to apply. Either way, I'll definitely be lurking in the mean time.
Due to some recent family troubles on top of my usual workload I don't have as much free time as usual at the moment. Unfortunately that means that I'm going to have to drop this. Sorry for any hassle caused, and hopefully I'll be able to RP with you all in the future.

Cheers, Sam.
You're still accepting players, hopefully?

I'd be interested in playing the plant person or the genius.

They most certainly are.
@BlackSam3091 To be fair, it's only been a day since he said he was working on the IC. It takes some time to set up before the IC goes live sometimes.

I know it's hard to convey tone across the internet, but what I was aiming for there was good natured ribbing rather than a genuine complaint, maybe light a lil fire under the asses of our esteemed GM team. Good of you to defend them though.

And not that I want to argue with you but @The Kid Lantern posted this four days ago, where he clearly states that he'll be getting to work on an opening IC post.

Four days and still no IC.

What a ball buster.
