while tru, quantity != quality, the fact is there's enough good writers out there with diverse enough interests to fit most niches apart from the unrealistically specific i.e. kitten beheading RP

About me:
Where do I begin. I'm from Belarus, and fairly proud of it. I've been RPing about a decade starting mostly with chat stuff and some LARPs/reenactments, doing the stuff of this site for maybe half a decade now. I'm a former serviceman, and while I was conscripted I make sure to stay in related circles. As a day job I'm a programmer letting me usually work from home even when we don't have coronavirus forcing us to do so and thus I got a lot of time for RP.

@Andreyich They are mentioned as a disparate people, some still serving in the Guard, while others live isolated across the Imperium. I'm not adverse to the idea, I simply fail to see why you'd bother having a Squat when a broad and bearded (or not) human would do just as well...

If you're really all that keen though, and can come up with a good reason why they'd be part of the Emperor's Glorious Navy, then I'll consider it.

Because they do not have the same lore. A Squat has the story of his people damaged, lost, clinging to the Imperium like a sickly babe to a tit, trying to keep themselves unique and not wholly assimilated.

I like to stay in the comfort zone of a GM though so I will go with something else. So as earlier suggested, a Navigator or Fleet Comissar alright?
Well, I am always up for a Dwarf. I have read the Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, Silmalarion a while back and an anthology of stories (I forgot the name) by Tolkien, so I think I know at least enough about the lore. I would like to know some specifics about the plot however, it is very vague so far.
No, I just like the Dwarf archetype.

I would just like to point out that Squats still exist in 40K in considerable number, and have not been wholly retconned :/ They were mentioned in 7th ed and in the Horus Heresy.

@Jbcool
Umm, since I am considering different characters, would a Squat be fine? @Jbcool
I agree, one ship is best.
@AndreyichHell of a character. I'm a Dwarf fan, so seeing Squats represented is

Thanks bro! I was hoping it would be Ordo Xenos to show them pesky knife-ears a good mole-mortaring but this is good too.
I too would prefer it being the navy rather than a Rogue Trader. A rogue trader is too cliche. However, if we do go the rogue trader route I would prefer that it is one of the Rogue Traders who is just a guard general with sanction to go into far off space.
So many smoothskins..... :p

What was that, mutant?
Guys, can I please do my job and work with her being I'm GM? Rather than having everyone else toss their own two cents in.

I get that, but isn't a little peer review good?
