the ad spam isn't that much of a problem in terms of covering content. but its a hurtful reminder that the many algorithms that decide what ads to serve think I am the kind of person to gamble

About me:
Where do I begin. I'm from Belarus, and fairly proud of it. I've been RPing about a decade starting mostly with chat stuff and some LARPs/reenactments, doing the stuff of this site for maybe half a decade now. I'm a former serviceman, and while I was conscripted I make sure to stay in related circles. As a day job I'm a programmer letting me usually work from home even when we don't have coronavirus forcing us to do so and thus I got a lot of time for RP.

Three teenagers, ages 18, 17, and 16 respectively broke into someone's home to rob them. After discovering them in the act and 'exchanging words,' the home-owner gunned all three boys down. Thoughts?

Because I think there are some folks in India that worshiped an 8-limbed child as a god, and I wouldn't be surprised if genemodding leads to some future Indian children being intentionally designed to have polymelia.

Those folks won't have access to such technology most likely, so the issue is non-existent. However, there is a general line that you can set, there are things there is no foreseeable downside to (i.e. removing disease) and those that there is, i.e. aforementioned arms.

However I don't we're going to get far with this, since from the discord I know of your lite-libertarian/voluntarist philosophy which will probably lead to us coming to a standstill on the deeper issues of our disagreement that can't forseeably be resolved.

Still, the idea of parents being able to design their kids to simultaneously have oligodactylism, pygmyism, methemoglobinemia, and naturally white hair is bound to make lots of people uncomfortable.

There's a difference between making sure your kid doesn't have diabetes, and designing a freakshow because you watched a cool anime and now think your kid having heterochromia and white hair would be dope.

As others mentioned, there will be just like with vaccines those against improving mankind as a whole but as it stands their voice shouldn't and doesn't matter in the question.

The whole idea of consenting for someone in their place is a load of bullshit except for rather extreme cases, this not being one of them. Whoever the writers of the article took their idea from should not be allowed to have children.

Absolutely evil. This is what hedonism and other new age influences have lead to, killing of children post birth having an argument for it. I am relatively pro-abortion in that I condemn it in the majority of cases but I'm not for banning it, however this is disgusting. If you're such a shit human being to want to kill that child maybe you're the one who needs to be aborted after birth via chainsaw.
