@Hillan Did Trump do something silly I'm unaware of recently? I'm still pretty hyped that hes getting rid of obamacare, and I KNOW he has helped the unemployment rates go down as factories near where I lived have opened up again and I've gotten some people jobs because of it.

@Afro Samurai Fair enough. If hes a more cheery likable person (he kinda was in the JLU, though being a kid he was a bit insufferable at times too.) then I can see liking him. I only remember the Starro episode though so I don't remember much.

Yeah, its pretty clear I don't know who or what the character is or what hes used for. But even looking at Afros character which is I'm guessing based of of Shazam, hes still a discount superman with a bit of magic thrown in. If you wanna elaborate I'll listen as my knowledge of the guy, like I said, is limited to what he did in JLU and Brave and the Bold.

Shazam is gonna be incredible because Dwayne 'the Rock' Johnson is playing Black Adam. Loki made Thor sell in the movies, it's gonna be more of that. Shazam originally wasn't gonna be part of the film universe but the execs changed their minds because the Rock wanted to deck Superman as Black Adam in a future crossover film.

To the point I think it's in his contract.

That sounds really neat. Maybe with this movie they'll FINALLY decide what they wanna do with the character too.

Shazam! was also a television series back in the late 70's early 80's much in the same vein as Linda Carter's WW. How's that for expanded media.

He was still called Captain Marvel in JLU. I dunno, I still see him as a discount superman based on his design and everything I see him do minus the lightning bolt.

Nope, not at all. But then DC only does things with him in comics instead of other media besides a few episodes in JLU or that blue beetle show. (I remember something with that at some point, dunno if that was also JLU) so I don't know too much about him. But if hes not big enough to be seen in other media, he probably isn't that important anyway overall. All I know is he used to be Captain Marvel because DC hated Marvel or something, I dunno.

Also probably doesn't help they keep changing him over, and over, and over again.

I think the real problem with comics is that they aren't lighthearted all that much anymore. They're so... serious. Its probably why Deadpool is so ungodly popular come to think of it.

Well we'll see on the JL movie. Like I said, it depends on how much meddling there is. WW had almost no meddling and it turned out well. (It also didn't look horrendous. BvS... I wouldn't hire that director ever.) so if there is no meddling it should be good.

Now they really need to bring the cyborg everyone loves back. Sure keep his new look and powers, but he needs that booyah thing back. Thats what people remember him for.

@Lord Wraith To be fair, unless a hero comes around that can basically cream Superman with him having almost no hope of winning WITHOUT using kryptonite, AND said hero becomes as mainstream as Batman/Superman/WW/Cyborg/ext while also being countered by one or two of those heroes as hard as they counter Superman, Superman is just a better villain than a hero. Hes just too strong otherwise.

Marvel is way better at hero balance than DC. You could lose Superman from DC and not lose much, and infact everything would be better as heroes would counter heroes and such and no hero would feel so super domineering in-universe as it does now. Sure Batman would still be top billing, but people are ok with him since lots of heroes can beat him 1v1.

@Lord Wraith mm... We'll see. Depends on how much meddling the WB management does. Thats why everyone but WW was so bad. If they don't meddle and let the director DO THEIR JOB, then it should be fine.

@Member 00492 Whos the director. Are they male or female. I know how WB execs think, so this distinction is very important. At least, thats how I think WW went since that was their first female director and that actually did well since they didn't meddle like they did with all the male ones.

Welp, I got an artist working on Toon Girl finally. So I'll have something eventually. And uh, she kinda looks really really nice so far.
