  • Name: Kawaguchi Mika.
  • Age:16
  • Gender:Female.
  • Appearance:The right half of the picture. She also likes to be on top.
  • Personality: Mika is at first glance a shy, unassuming and fragile bookworm mouse who has a natural air of grace and fragility around her. She is usually bashful and prefers to keep a distance. However, deep down she is fairly determined, bitter and cold. She also has a pretty strong libido, and likes to predate on both boys and girls. Mika holds a grudge at people who belittle her because of her somewhat homely looks or apparent lack of physical strength, and she would enjoy proving all those who think that martial strength is all that matters that they're wrong. Mika also has none of the fears a lot of people have towards bugs and spiders. She would also want to have babies with Ryuji
  • Backstory: Mika was born in a rather humble militaristic household. Her father lamented that instead of a healthy young boy rascal with spunk to share war stories, he got a fragile flower of a daughter with a weak constitution and that had to be take to the hospital frequently. He vented his frustration on his daughter and household, appearing as an overbearing controlling father who dictated what and when Mika did in her everyday life. The young girl only found solace in two things. An adventuring kid next door, called Ryuji, full of vitality which was always eager to play with her, and even give her piggy rides when she collapsed; and books. Books were one of her best refuges to her life. But of course, her father had other ideas. He wrongfully thought that that many reading was weakening his daughter even further and routinely sabotaged her attempts. With Isobe gone, and her own mother a subsirvient shell, Mika soon fell into despair, and began to turn into someone cynical. She begun to despise the world, all while keeping a masquerade of goodie two shoes girl. When the battle school programme was suggested at her household, Mika just accepted because she wanted to prove her father wrong. She despite being weak, would trumph what he considered strength with her own bookish smarts.

It wasn't as initially planned, though. The challenge bar was high, so Mika eventually relented to asking help from her best friend. She tried her best to honey the situation, but in the meantime Ryuji had become a goody two shoes and rejected her offer. Now she is likely to try a different approach...
  • Inherent Engine Skill: None! Although given the nature of her Device, most people think she has a field of mana draining around her.
  • Active Engine Device: Arachne - Arachne is just a bunch of metal strings. However, they're highly mana-conductive, very thin, and deceptively strong and resistant. If these strings wrap around a person or AED, they will interfere and cancel any mana based skill or operation, so long as said person remainds "grounded" by the strings (Ie, with a couple of coils wrapped around it). Mika can also use the strings in multiple ways, as improvised traps, to swing midair, as a makeshift whip, and to dispell mana-based projectiles. She can even use them as a spider would use a web to listen to her surroundings.
  • Skills: Mika is an intellectual sort of person. Academic subjects are easy deal for her, and she's always craving more knowledge and gather information. She's good at sciences, including math. Mika is also highly skilled in analyzing situations and finding the best course of action, as well as being fluent in English. As a side effect of her weapon use, she's an amazingly skilled puppeteer and nimble but otherwise pretty weak physically with one of the worst staminas of the entire school due to her heart condition.
  • Rank: 14
  • Club:Class Rep, Literature Club.
Name: Thiara
Titles: Good for Nothing Witch, The Not so Red Menace, The Princess of Greed
Age:150 (Appears 16)
Gender: Female
Race: Dragon Human, yup, nothing to see here. Move along!
Appearance:Appearances...can be deceiving.
Personality: Thiara is a bright young magical apprentice who wishes to learn everything of the world at large. Eternally plucky and eager, Thiara is dynamic and does like to take action, sometimes even before thinking. She also seems to have an alarming lack of understanding of human customs such as lack of nudity. Having shades of an spoiled brat, Thiara is highly materialistic and selfish with the loot, even though she can be convinced to relent easily for the good of the team. One thing of note of Thiara is that she's very bad at giving up. However, part of this act is a mere charade. The true Thiara, the dragon, is rather calculating and cold, even though she has rather the arrogant and cynical disposition. Her reason for this act is that she, as a dragon has concluded that while the risk is greater, helping the heroes is bound to give her a bigger share of loot than just sheepishly following a Dark Lord.

Weapons: Staff. She sometimes whacks herself with it.
Skills/Magic: Thiara considers herself a witch, although she's barely one. She can cast some basic spells, like healing or basic barriers, and even the odd elemental spell or two. This is because she's not as experienced in her human form as in her dragon form. As a dragon,
despite not being a full adult she's very capable, able to perform nimble flying feats, breathe fire effortlessly and even assume human form. A point of note is that dragons are very difficult to be affected by magic, due to the sheer raw magical power they possess. Thiara knows that, and in dragon form she will not hesitate to use that power to cancel out enemy spells.

History: Thiara, like her clutch siblings, hatched sometime in the peace interim in the lands that would later be conquered by the Dark lord. Her early life was pretty uneventful, what with the pillaging, eating spoils that her mother provided and fighting her siblings. However, after several decades, something changed in the lands that made her reconsider her lifestyle. Submit to the Dark Lord or else. Her siblings all chose to submit, even her mother even with some coaxing about plunder and treasures to be had, but little Thiara knew to do the math. There simply wouldn't be enough plunder for all of the troops of the Dark Lord, she thought, and if she had to risk her life for loot...

Better do it as a hero. So Thiara watched the humans, and terrorized a wizard into teaching her some magic.

After being a somewhat mediocre apprentice in the service of her master, Thiara decided that if her skills and fame were to shine, she had to push herself to the limit. And who better who defeat the Dark Lord alongside a bunch of other Heroes? She would learn many new things from them aswell.

And heroes get far more fame and loot anyway.

Other: We need another useless bum character that is not really useless.
How not to cast a spell.
It was a good day to go on an adventure. Birds were singing, the forest canopy was refreshing. There were raised corpses, and death all over. Well, okay it wasn't that much of a good day, but Thiara had to be optimistic from the onset. What with being her first adventure and all. She hurried the pace, moving between the trees and bushes in the road. Steadily closing to her foe.

Skeletons.

Might've the remnants of some dark lordling craft. Well, at least the road was transited and there were other people who had partaken in the battle. That was good. She wasn't alone in the whole heroing thing. The young apprentice waved her cane, thinking how to proceed. "Okay, Thiara, keep it cool and zap those undead."

She needed a plan. Which of course involved skeletons.

"Die!...Again! You rotting things!" Thiara said dramatically, aiming the staff at Caractacus' craft, evidentely confusing it for enemies. She chanted the words, and...

Nothing happened.

"Oh come, don't do this to me!" Thiara added, shaking her staff, and then eventually looking at the gem. She did it right, it was charged with energy so why it didn't...

She took the lightning bolt blast right into her face. "Ack!" She exclaimed as she fell flat on her butt, her face smoked and her hair frazzled. It was then when she noticed the necromancer and its cohort. "What, no! Get away you freaks! I am not done with you yet!"
Ryuji stood still for a brief moment, his eyes eyeing his conversation partner thoughtfully. With one of his massive hands, he rubbed his chin thoughtfully, as he hummed an assent to what the girl was saying.

"Personal space, huh...but we're not really fighting now." Isobe pieced together. What meaning was there to bring the subject of one's own space, where one could fight comfortable within their own reach? Was that it, personal space? He didn't fully understand the girl but he pressed on, as he stood up and patted his own clothes, his own massive height now blotting the light. "What am I doing? I guess I was going to offer some friendly advice so as to not waste my trip into the roof I guess. That huh, was my favorite spot."

He said.

"Please treat it well, I am now going to find a new spot. Nice to meet you. I'm Isobe Ryuji." Ryuji added as he began to walk away from the girl, his thoughts wandering on more mundane matters, such as the budget for tomorrow. His large hands comically opened a wallet with childish embroidery, completely with -RAWR- written in western letters and a badly sewn blue Tyrannosaurus.

Not much left, huh. He pondered. And is if inviting the misfortune, a draft of wind took his last banknote.

"Ah, bugger!" Isobe added as he chased the speeding banknote with his conditioned body. It was not too much of an effort, given how fast had he become and why there was a strong wind and the ground coming closer?

I jumped out of the roof, huh. Isobe shrugged, eyeing up a fall that could potentially kill someone normal. But he had training, and resilience, so he channeled his body ki and concentrated. And there came the landing, with a loud sound, and Isobe himself using his mighty hands and legs to cushion the impact. After which he got up, and patting againg his clothes, put his money back in the wallet, as whispers went around his surroundings.

"...no way. Is that guy even human?"

"Who is that idiot..."

"...I don't want to fight that guy, that was insane..."

"...that wallet is HORRIBLE..."

Whoops. Thought Isobe as he scratched the back of his head thoughtfully.

I don't know man. To be fair i lost the interest on reading the rest halfway through.
Another day, another struggle for Isobe Ruyji to find motivation to go on. Yet, he was seasoned in the way of martial arts, he would find inner strength still to pursue such a misaligned path in the current circumstances. Would he persevere? Mayhaps not, but it was certain that all of his being compelled him to do something about his current situation.

He had pursued his training as a mean of achieving inner peace, and yet here he was, in a place that was anathema to his philosophy, a battle school. He meditated again the chain of events that had led up to this contradictory stance. He had been tricked. But he was not one to hold grudge against someone. Those kinds of things could eat away someone's soul. He felt something was eating his soul away altogether, namely the fact he had not started having his lunch yet, wich was resting in the firm grip of his concrete-shattering hands. With an swiftness that didn't quite match his size and bulk, he made it for the rooftops, curry bread in hand. He liked the place. Usually not many bothered there, and sometimes little birds happened to approach him to eat away the crumbs of his meal. It was an odd peaceful moment of the otherwise action packed school.

Alas, it seemed that no meditation would happen today. There she was, the new student who had begun her path in one of the most flamboyant manners possible. By declaring the intention to defeat the leader of the school. While it was a true honest intention, and for that Ryuji felt respect towards, there was something in the new girl that worried him, Isobe Ryuji.

He sat next to her, and unceremonously unwrapped his curry bread, eyes fixed on the newcomer as he wolfed down his paltry lunch. Moderation was also part of his way.

"Out of all ways someone can lose their soul in battle, revenge is by far the most tragic one. Be careful, transfer student."

Was he doing the right thing? He did not know. He suddenly wished he knew how to talk to girls.

I dunno. Seran is now like:
