My issue with GMing is once the novelty of the new idea wears off, I have no idea what to do next, and everyone is looking at me to progress the narrative.

I still haven’t watched TLOK. It’s on my long list of shows and movies to binge.

Bio

Gay, he/him, Autistic

I’m Crimson Flame and I’m addicted to RPing. But sometimes ADHD kicks in, and it takes me longer to reply to things than it should. If I’m taking too long to respond, feel free to say something. Just don’t be rude about it.

There are a bunch of RPs I like. Pokémon, Digimon, Fantasy, Superhero, it would take too long to list them all. I’m not a fan of Horror or Apocalypse settings though.

I have a particular type of character I like making. Look through my Character Sheet thread, and see if you notice what a lot of my characters have in common.

thank you! I've started work on putting together a thread, I'm just trying to decide the information that I should include. I saw Birdboy had started making a facility layout, so I may do something similar. We'll see. I'm also interested in having a co-gm possibly, if anyone is interested in the responsibility.

It would be funny if Birdboy Co-Gmed this, and you Co-Gmed the other one.
Does anyone have an opinion on the idea I mentioned back on the first page? About them getting invitations to a competition and then being recruited from there?

Makes sense to me.
Hopefully my last message wasn't too metagamey. Seemed in-character for Jenny to use her Officer skills to determine some of the thesis statements. Happy to retcon if needed :)

I’m fine with it.
Also we should totally do a crossover practice match event with the other RP later on if they both get going.

Would it technically be an alternate universe crossover? 🤔
Oh, of course! I read that you don't like swearing in the introduction, I'll have to restrain myself. I'm certainly no stranger to cursing but I'll just treat it as an exercise in restraint! I'm glad you enjoy Adolphian, I've put a lot of time and word into shaping his character over the years. He originally started out as a character back on Pokecharms, in fact! He's gone from a rather generic emo-type character to a truly unique person, I think! And I'm honestly debating making his Ninetales speak the native language of Stahlblatt(I'm still debating on whether I want it to be German or Swedish. Maybe I'll do both, with one half of the continent mainly speaking German and the other speaking Swedish, I think that could be a fun bit of duality!) with no grasp on English. Of course, I'll provide a translation after each thing she says, as well as an IC translator, most likely being either his Gardevoir or Adolphian himself. After all, if a Meowth can learn to speak, why can't a Ninetales? I enjoy the idea of multi-lingual characters, even though I personally really struggle with learning language myself. Thank goodness for translation apps, eh?

As for ideas, I do have a few, actually! If we're going to be doing an academy, perhaps we could have like... Highly influential trainers show up occasionally as brief side characters, acting to teach a lesson or two to the trainers. Maybe see if anyone's willing to play the part of a canon character from the series deciding to take the opportunity to get to know some of the up-and-comers! I think I personally could play the part of Brandon from Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. Err... Is his name Brandon? I think it is. The male protagonist, anyways. Perhaps I could even bring in my Evilane as a cameo appearance, perhaps giving a few lessons focusing on adaptability and dealing with the unexpected. Though really, she'd just be doing it as an excuse to get to meet new Pokemon. And also people, but mostly Pokemon. She's the type to gush over her opponents Pokemon after battling them. :)

I would totally bring in Bede just to mentor Liam.

Callum nodded when Jason answered, glancing down as Aria bounced beside his bag again. “Good to know,” he said. “Thank you.”

Aria perked up at the mention of being allowed along, puffing up a little like she’d just been personally approved for something important.

Callum rested a hand lightly on her head before she could take that too far. “Don’t get excited,” he murmured under his breath. “That was conditional.”

She looked at him like she disagreed.

Callum exhaled quietly and straightened in his seat, flipping his notebook open to a new page as the slideshow came up. He wrote the date at the top, paused for a second, then added a small note beneath it: Partner Pokémon allowed. Within reason.

He glanced up toward the front again, just briefly, then back down at his notes.

Aria leaned a little too far onto the edge of the desk.

Callum slid his notebook an inch to the side before she could sit on it. “No,” he said softly.

Aria pouted.

“Yes, I know,” he added sarcastically, already writing again. “Very unfair.”
I’ll try to get something up tomorrow.

Danny stared at the helmeted guy for a second.

Then, very slowly, his eyes shifted toward his own current position. Upside down. Stuck to a wall. Pink hoodie bunched around his shoulders. Homemade web shooters visible under his sleeves. His mask was still covering the lower half of his face, but unfortunately not enough to hide the fact that he was probably blushing.

“I mean… No?” Danny said, though it came out sounding more like a question. ”I just try to prepare for the worst possible outcome, and getting punched seemed pretty high on the list… I just have a bad history of people wanting to punch me… Oh god… That sounds pathetic… Ignore that.”

He tried to peel one hand off the brick, managed it, and then immediately almost slipped sideways. His other hand slapped back against the wall with a sticky little smack. “Still good,” he said quickly. “Completely fine.” He was not completely fine.

Then another voice spoke.

Danny’s head turned too fast, and for half a second he forgot he was upside down. The movement made his hood flop weirdly over one ear as he looked toward the air-conditioning unit. Someone else was there now. Blue coat. Blurred face. Bare feet, maybe? Danny wasn’t sure if that was real or just another part of whatever was happening. Because apparently the night had decided two mystery rooftop people was not enough.

“Oh,” Danny said. Very intelligent. He glanced between helmeted guy and the guy in the blue coat, then back to the helmeted guy when he made the joke.

Danny gave a tiny, nervous laugh. “Pink is my color…” That was not helpful. Why had he said that?

Danny cleared his throat and finally managed to get both feet and one hand planted better against the wall, though he still remained very much upside down. Standing right side up felt like a goal for later. Possibly after nobody murdered him.

At the helmeted guy’s question, Danny looked down at himself, then at the other two.

“Skin condition?” he repeated. “Is that what we’re calling it? I just called it life-ruining spider nonsense, but I guess skin condition is shorter…” He regretted that immediately. “Sorry. Nervous talking.”

He looked toward the stranger in blue again. Danny couldn’t make out his face properly, and that made the buzzing in the back of his skull worse. Not danger exactly, but something close to it. “I don’t know why we’re all here,” Danny admitted. “I felt something. In my head. Like a pull, or a signal, or…”

He made a vague motion with one hand, then remembered that hand was helping keep him attached to the wall. “Okay, bad time for gestures.” He pressed his palm back down.

“The point is, I was practicing. Alone. Which was a terrible idea, and several people would love to tell me that in great detail.” His eyes shifted briefly toward his pocket, where his phone sat silent for the moment. “Then I felt the buzzing, heard someone yell, saw him—” He nodded toward the helmeted guy. “-swinging around like he actually knew what he was doing, and having the time of his life. I followed. For science. And maybe because I panicked a little. But mostly science.”

Danny looked back at the blue coat guy.“And then you showed up, so I’m guessing you felt it too?”

He hesitated. “So uh… This might sound strange but uh… Were you both at ESU?” he asked, quieter this time. “About a month ago?”
