@balthazar007 Um so I don't think the rank explanations specify when trainers can start evolving Pokemon that only evolve once? I'm going to assume that it's when they become expert trainers?? Haha it'd be really nice if Shanae could evolve her Houndour though ^_^'

Please look at the opening OOC post a little closer, specifically in the "Levels & Evolution" subsection located within the "What about the Pokemon?" section. The last paragraph of that section states that you can evolve a Pokemon as early as you like... but evolving a Pokemon too early will make it unusable in battle and uncontrollable by your character in regular IC posting.

Picture Ash and Charizard in season 1 of Pokemon. You and your Houndoom would have a similar relationship.

Just want to remind you that this is an RPing site, meaning that while readers are nice, it's mainly meant for the writers.

I'd think that most people are readers andwriters. After all it makes sense to read other people's post, I feel like its kinda a respect thing for yer fellow rpers.

You both make great points. Nobody is wrong here.

I have re-wrote the little opening letter in the first OOC post. Basically, the object of the opening letter is to convince people to join our RP. Before hand, the letter assumed that the reader was already interested in joining, (i.e. Someone that LOVES Pokemon or that has been personally recruited by one of us) someone willing to sort through all the ever growing content. By addressing "readers" separately, I hope create a more clear path for people to follow when they aren't sure about joining or not. First, read our RP through the perspective of one of the existing characters. Then, choose another character and do it again, or open up the manual and see what it takes to create a character of your own.

Basically, my theory is this: The more time a person spends reading what we have already written, the more invested they will become, increasing their desire to create a character of their own.

@balthazar007 I actually was aware that you weren't enforcing a number in this RP, but I wanted to keep some of the game traditions going... Maybe later she'll retrieve it? Or is this completely unrealistic right now haha

So a part of me likes says, "it's cool if you want to self enforce any number of limitations", but my other half says, "If you, this RP's most active player at the moment, start to self enforce standards like this, others will follow suit." This could be a good thing or a bad thing, because it both adds some throw back realism but might create another thing for me to keep tabs on. I'm already sorting through Trainer Point and Creation Point interactions, which is fine and planned. But adding anything more might be too weighty.

On that note, I take back what I said about the number 12. I'm not going to enforce any limitations on the number of Pokemon a person can carry. I just ask everyone to be reasonable.

Tonight or tomorrow, I am also going to create a section to the opening OOC that addresses readers, not just writers or role-players of this RP.

My reasoning behind this is that I spoke with a friend at work that would like to read this RP, but she doesn't write.

If this site can attract more readers than writers, this site will explode! Let's be honest, how many people know about this site that are not writers? When you write, you expect to have readers.

Give me till tomorrow. You will all see what I mean.

In your latest post. You seem to be under the understanding that you can only carry 6 Pokeballs with you. Nowhere in this RP do I enforce this classic standard.

I think that 12 should be the number in this RP, not 6. After 12, Pokemon that you keep on you will count toward your inventory. I will edit this into the opening OOC tomorrow before work.

@Balthazar007 So, seeing as the map is expanding... Contests. How are they going to work? I can imagine a contest hall in a place like Feyhollow, and I have an idea for a coordinator character.

I had some ideas on contests earlier, but it's been on the back burner for so long I honestly forgot how I wanted to go about it. Now that the rest of the RP has formed up though, it is time to revisit the subject. Give me a couple days to think about this.

Okay everyone,

I have finished formatting the opening OOC post. There are a few things that I'm thinking about adding before the 24th, but otherwise, it's ready to roll. Do any of you see grammatical mistakes or have suggestions that might improve the manual? Remember, this will be the first thing that people are supposed to look at when considering to join our RP. If you can think of anything that might make it better, let me know.

As it stands, from the 24 to the end of the month, we will be advertising this RP. The goal is to recruit five more active users; it's okay if we only get a few; there is always next month (i.e. In-Character day). Who knows? We may even exceed our goal by a few people!
