Current Euh. It's been a hot minute. Things are rather different for me now, and I don't know how that translates to my presence here.

I don't *think* I'm a bad person. I might be wrong there. I try not to be, even when I screw it up for want of social awareness.

Hello, I am me from the internet. I migrated here from Kongregate's Forum Games Forum, so feel free to look for me there if you wish to follow a career in internet stalking people. (ಠ_ಠ) ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

A link to some of my past characters, which I need because static tabs do not take up internet.

Infamous Quotes From People Who Exist

“I really don’t follow how your faith believes its perfectly acceptable to doom 4,000 years plus of sentient beings, on a pre-set path of no escape from sin, just so their descendants can be offered the ‘chance of salvation’ when the god murders its own son.”
~vikaTae

“Don’t be an ass or a pussy, ’lest you get screwed by life. Being a mouth or a hand is somewhat safer, and an eye socket is pretty much sacred in this regard, so always keep a look out.”

@ClocktowerEchos You can PM drafts of your sheets to me and the other GMs. Just make sure it's all three of us in there, so we can all see it.
Uh... I exist, and I'm sorry to @Guardian Angel Haruki for not posting for ages. I honestly thought the RP was dead as well, but... yeah. I'll try to get another Rodney/Eeeeeeeeeeee post up soon.
@Shorticus@Jbcool Honestly, I've been looking at the thread for a bit, and I'm wondering if I might not want to make an elvish character. Y'know, to add this one on to the list of ten other RPs I'm in right now. There's a distinct lack of wizards (goblin orkkultists notwithstanding), so if anybody wants to happen across the most easily hate-able character in the mercenary group who isn't a greenskin, feel free to encourage me to make a character.
@ClocktowerEchos I mean, if the remnants of his home planet don't really have much ability to support life, maybe his Legion is fleet-based? That is to say, primarily stationed upon ships, drawing recruitment from any worlds they happen to pass by in the course of their duties? Honestly, I'm slightly surprised nobody's done this yet... then again, perhaps it's not been made clear that this is indeed a viable option. Or, most people have just preferred that their Legions actually be stationed upon a planet. Whatever works.
@ClocktowerEchos It will be the primary location that they draw their recruits from, yes. There'll likely also be a great number of Astartes in any given Legion who were initially drawn from Terra, but for obvious reasons, that'd stop being a thing once the Primarchs are discovered and Legion bases established upon homeworlds. Regarding your Skype, if you wouldn't mind PMing your Skype name to me, @Roosan, or @Yennefer, we can add you to the Skype group shortly. Though actually, it sounds like you're already in contact with Yennefer on Skype, so that would simplify the matter substantially.
Thomas Franklin

You are doing humanity a great service by accepting this mission, Mr. Franklin. You're quite sure you want to go through with it?

'Absolutely. If it is necessary to help protect our world...'

You of course understand the risks. Sidestepping an entire faction's trust in you is something few are forgiving about, and I cannot imagine that you will be let off easily if you are discovered.

'But it won't really be me, after all, will it? The real me would be piloting my body from afar, when I'm even needed to do so.'

Your personality would be controlling it remotely whilst the protocols are active. You are aware of the possible risks of such.

'Yeah, I know how it works, "the backdoor could be an open wound into the Protectorate's databanks" and all that about exposing my mind, but I can just destroy the backdoor if I need to.'

It should not matter regardless. You are fully aware of capture prevention protocols.

'Yep, yep, blow up my own soul for the cause if I must.'

The moment a battle or situation appears to be unwinnable. Gauge power, gauge strategy, calculate whether they hold an advantage over you-

'Etcetera etcetera so they don't get any information from me ever. I'm not in the higher echelons of the Protectorate because I'm stupid, you know.'

Very well. For the final time, Thomas: do you consent to this procedure?

'One hundred percent.'

Then sleep, loyal and earnest warrior. May you be rewarded with the sound of the last spirit's demise.

'How's the agent, professor?'

He is quite well. His personality is interred in our systems, and his DNA has been recorded for restoration of his physical form if necessary, as has his mantle for the purposes of personality restoration.

'Excellent. All precautions... in place...'

I still feel the notebook is unnecessary.

'Well, I like having words on paper in front of me. It's... soothing, if you will? As is speaking with one's mouth, rather than one's mind...'

I'll take your word for that.

'...ahem. Well, what of his partner?'

A suitable candidate spirit has been captured, and is in the process of conversion as we speak. Nietzsche will soon come into being as a new member of our ranks, albeit under similar conditions to Thomas.

'Ah, I see. So...'

Nietzsche's personality will be contained within our servers, whilst the donor's personality will be copied and modified, and subsequently replicated on to the new body. For all intents and purposes, this AI will be its original self, save for Nietzsche's capacity to take over when desired.

'Alright... hold on half a tick... and the data transfers?'

Both parties will run large-scale transfer protocols under private conditions only. In other words, when they are entirely alone.

'Peeeerfect! I have high hopes for all this, you know.'

As do we all. If the project is successful, we may ultimately see the end of one of the most virulent opponents we face. One step closer to spiritual annihilation.

'Ah, don't spoil it just yet. We've still got to succeed, after all, and then deal with the other factions too at that!'

I imagine this feat could be replicated many times, should initial tests prove successful. If the agent can be infiltrated past one of the most stringent entry requirements in the world, other factions should be exceptionally simple to acquire information from.

'I like your style, old chap.'

It is a logical progression of events.

'Ahh, well, you know what it signifies. This is the next step in our conquest, after all... and perhaps, if we're lucky, the first true indicator of our final victory.'

One can only hope.
Now, here's the thing, @LHG100. First, Knights are "only" twenty or thirty feet or so tall under normal circumstances. They're big, tough bastards, true, but not absolutely above the realms of conventional scales of firepower - it's entirely feasible that they can be brought down by a good artillery barrage, or as @Yennefer and @Sophrus stated, perhaps an Astartes Devastator squad with the right equipment. Full-fledged Titans are another matter entirely - their Void shields and absurdly thick armour means no handheld weapon can hope to meaningfully damage them, and even concentrated artillery fire would have trouble breaking just one layer of Void shields out of the several that are often installed on a Titan. And those can be brought back online. Realistically, and given the relative lack of Alpha-plus psykers in existence, the only thing able to break a Titan is another Titan, and precious few of those are likely to turn up in battle against even a Space Marine Legion.

Secondly, Knight Houses are attached to the planet they're installed upon. In a sense, their Houses are intended to be their "top-level" organisation, which happens to be lending the machines it owns to the Imperium, wilfully or no; this is not the case with full Titan Legions, these being effectively owned by the Collegia Titanicus, which is in turn a sub-organisation within the Adeptus Mechanicus, and therefore an integral part of the Imperium in a way that Knight Houses are not. In short, it's possible to rule over a Knight planet, and thus control its Knights; try that with a Titan Forge World, and you're liable to get curbstomped by the AdMech for trying to steal their precious machines, probably with same said machines.

And finally, as @Yennefer has pointed out, large quantities of void ships in a Legion are balanced out by their primary targets being either planets or other void ships, thus letting the weapons shooting at them be powerful enough to hurt them. In conclusion, no Titans attached to or owned by a Legion, please.
@Specter189 has been banned from this game and Chronicles of The Grim Crusade for a count of offensive language, and a count of attempted OOC game manipulation without GM knowledge, in addition to a general lack of courtesy for the GMs and overall negative attitude. He, his Primarch, and his Legion have been excised from the game, and the XIV Legion's slot is reopened for game purposes. As described in the rules, moderators may be involved if he continues to try and interact with this game or its players.
As it happened, the Last Chance Saloon shootout was starting to reach its end just as Galga'roth passed by the place. He'd intended to ignore the noise of bullets and death and keep making his way to Nab's Holdout as quickly as he could, to make sure he didn't miss that rogue trader, if they even existed (and Emperor forbid that they did exist, only for Galga'roth to miss them completely); however, the sudden ping of a bullet ricocheting off of his carapace breastplate stopped him in his tracks. The Navigator himself was unharmed; however, he now had a hole in his finest robe (one of only a few, actually), and a combination of drunkenness and semi-falsified excess combined to produce very real anger as a result. How dare some thug ruin his best clothing? Or nearly kill him, as it were, but his best clothing!

The end of the shootout was punctuated with a single scattergun shot from within the building as Galga'roth approached, striding in what he hoped was an intimidating fashion. Oh, he was going to give whoever was left in there a piece of his mind, almost literally if he felt they deserved it! Reaching the bar doors at last, he swung them open dramatically, took three steps in, and slowed to a halt as he looked around at the carnage and remembered that, oh yes, gunfire is usually associated with huge quantities of blood and gore. After a few moments of slow turning to observe and evaluate the situation, the Navigator looked at the single standing patron left- possibly the bartender, though his appearance suggested otherwise- with what appeared to be quite a fine beverage in hand if the bottle it came from was anything to go by, and the scattergun from before lying on the bar near him.

An awkward moment passed, and Galga'roth eventually said to himself 'Well, okay, then,' before unscrewing the cap on his wine bottle and tipping the whole thing back, chugging a good quarter of it in one go without really tasting it before finally letting his arm hang by his side again. Unaware or uncaring that his hood had fallen back as a result, he trudged over to the bar, took a seat, roughly set the wine bottle down next to him, and stared at the man on the other side of the bar for a moment, only to ask 'I don't suppose you could spare some of that? For a weary traveller, of course.'
