Current Euh. It's been a hot minute. Things are rather different for me now, and I don't know how that translates to my presence here.

I don't *think* I'm a bad person. I might be wrong there. I try not to be, even when I screw it up for want of social awareness.

Infamous Quotes From People Who Exist

“I really don’t follow how your faith believes its perfectly acceptable to doom 4,000 years plus of sentient beings, on a pre-set path of no escape from sin, just so their descendants can be offered the ‘chance of salvation’ when the god murders its own son.”
~vikaTae

“Don’t be an ass or a pussy, ’lest you get screwed by life. Being a mouth or a hand is somewhat safer, and an eye socket is pretty much sacred in this regard, so always keep a look out.”

@RyoRyoRyoken@dragonmancer He ain't even in the tree Ryo. But having said that, maybe Jackal gets in a fight with Adrian. That guy's been spoiling for something to do, I'm sure. And then after that, Rayne/Xerxes reunites with him and insists that he join the Red Hoods alongside him or what have you.
@NachoBachoPacho@LokiLeo789 Dirk's pretty stuck right now... I suppose Fadel would be the one to get him down from where he is, but there's still a giant gorilla human to try and avoid being murdered by.
@LokiLeo789 Give? Anaru practically murdered Dirk with that tree. Or he would have if it had hit. As things are, Dirk's... conscious. Yeah. Let's go with that for now.

@NachoBachoPacho No duh. Let's hope Dirk's cunning "hide under a pile of vines" plan works, then.
So Dirk got pretty fucked up by Anaru even from an indirect indirect hit, but he's still alive and hopefully well-hidden. But man, if @JmerlRobot and/or @dragonmancer were here right now, it'd be a super awesome way for Dirk to not die like a bitch, if they both turned up. And for Fadel and/or Jackal to get some more action in, since they're both semi-inactive right now.

Dirk Messir

The roar from behind him gave Dirk cause to glance back at the ape creature. As he watched, the rest of its body shrunk to the size it had been before, whereas its arms became absurdly large. Dirk was willing to bet they'd also boost his power to a ridiculous degree too; sure enough, the time the creature took to nearly close the gap on him was minimal. More pressing, though, was the way it was threatening to swing its weapon...

Dirk fell to the ground, just managing to fall flat as the swing began, and nigh-instantly passed across his position. Had the branch itself struck him, he would have died instantly; even the shockwave of air around it would have killed him even with an indirect hit. As it was, the shell barely missed him, passing no more than a couple of inches over his prone position.

The crosswinds did not miss him. The force of the missed blow had generated air currents strong enough to tear any normal tree from its roots, let alone lift an underweight and rather weak human away, and Dirk was easily flung across the length of the branches like so much debris at speeds far faster than he was comfortable with. Discomfort soon turned to pain - though his journey was mostly horizontal, he bruised readily with every solid jolt upon landing, and he was quite sure he felt an arm dislocate on the initial impact. He only stopped rolling mere feet from the other end of the tree to where he'd initially been, inches from the edge of the canopy that would safely support his weight without breaking, and thus dropping him to an untimely demise.

The only benefit of that swift movement was that he was quite out of sight of the monkey-man, meaning his Divine Purpose could function properly once again; knowing this, he quickly hid his form beneath some of the vines in the area, falling motionless beneath them, his breathing slowing to an almost-normal quiescence that, if all went as planned, meant he would now be nigh-undetectable by the ape-creature. His usefulness in battle had ultimately been limited; however, so long as the monstrosity did not decide to pre-emptively break the entire canopy to bits, his Divine Purpose would hide him from its hyper-destructive grasp. If only a fellow crew member were around to help... or rather, if only Dirk could help himself, in this situation. He was weak now; he promised himself that if his Divine Purpose allowed it, he'd do what he had to to get stronger, even if it meant getting pulverised by his crewmates regularly for the next five years. He'd survived worse than that.
The Red Claw

The Red Claw found himself briefly distracted by the appearance of yet another vigilante. The Red Claw knew full-well who this one was with but a glance at his outfit - "First Degree" Donny, the outfit all but unmistakable for any other vigilante in Ankora. So far as the Red Claw knew, however, Donny was not guilty of any activities beyond acceptable bounds for a vigilante. Not the way Graffiti was, with her torture sprees. He killed criminals, as vigilantes did. If he also killed innocents, the Red Claw was not aware of it.

It mattered not. In seconds, he had vanished back into the shadows, and the Red Claw turned his attentions back to the two girls before him. Graffiti made a comment about how she'd kill the Red Claw if he continued his activities in the Blocks, and then made an abrupt and rapid exit, vaulting a dumpster and climbing up a fire escape in a very short time indeed. The Red Claw knew he was getting unacceptably sloppy in his actions when he failed to stop her escaping, despite ample opportunity to do so; rather than dwelling on the incident, however, the Red Claw refocused his attentions on what was now the only other inhabitant of the street - the unidentified white girl.

"Whatever lies have been instilled into you by Graffiti," the Red Claw stated to her, "you should understand that she is possessed of a truly foul mind. Many crimes deserve death; few deserve the forms of torture and mutilation she doles out."

I did a post, @NachoBachoPacho. Please don't make Anaru pulp Dirk instantly, I'd rather the lad lived to get at least some training in.
Dirk Messir

The sounds of battle rang throughout the area of the tree. Or rather, the sound of one impossibly fast battle, and a few other battles seemingly aborted with the passage of time. Dirk wondered if he'd even need to implement his unique tactics at this point, having found nothing for a fairly notable amount of time.

And then the branches around him shook with the force of an immense impact. The monkey-person, who had just now landed in plain sight of Dirk, though he himself was not currently visible to the creature in question. Dirk quickly drew out two of the three cutlasses on his person, only to hesitate as the monkey-person grabbed a nearby tree branch that was possibly as big as the mansion Dirk had escaped from just a month ago, suddenly doubled in size or more, and tore the branch out of the tree at the roots, wielding the chunk of wood near-effortlessly. Dirk, as with many slaves, was intimately familiar with the sensation of fear, in his case frequently mortal in nature; this familiarity was what kept him from being paralysed by the emotion, and instead led him to approach the thing from behind, silent as his Divine Purpose would allow, cutlasses bared and ready to strike.

Once he was close, and in a moment where the monkey-monster seemed to be entirely inobservant of its surroundings, Dirk struck with both cutlasses at once - one hacking into the upper portion of what seemed like the creature's primary arm, in an effort to make it drop its newfound weapon out of pain, and the other plunging knife-like into its back as deep as he could manage with a single thrust. His strikes made, and knowing full-well that sticking around to see what damage had actually been dealt to the hideously strong ape-man was a poor choice, he pulled the weapons free and ran as fast as he could, making for the nearest set of cover-rich branches in an effort to hide, make an escape aided by his Divine Purpose, figure out whether the thing might have actually been crippled by his assault if he was lucky, and above all else, desperately, desperately hoping it wouldn't catch up to him.

@NachoBachoPacho Ohohoho. Dirk's.... Dirk's gotta get out of there quick if he wants to live, then. Hmm... that'll be interesting to figure out.
@LokiLeo789 Dirk's next post is going to be finding a good opportunity to backstab a guy. Except that's prolly not going to be happening for a little while yet, since Zepp is now where Jax is, Anaru's got a giant tree branch for a club and is strong as fuck, Marxo's going Super Marine 2 against Super Pirate Marxo, and Adrian's not in the huge tree right now, so Dirk can't reach him at the moment. Though realistically, Anaru's the most likely backstab target, just because aside from being theoretically RRRRRROCK SOLID, he doesn't have much going for him in terms of defense. And, well, he's kind of alone right now. What do you think, @NachoBachoPacho?
