Current Euh. It's been a hot minute. Things are rather different for me now, and I don't know how that translates to my presence here.

I don't *think* I'm a bad person. I might be wrong there. I try not to be, even when I screw it up for want of social awareness.

Hello, I am me from the internet. I migrated here from Kongregate's Forum Games Forum, so feel free to look for me there if you wish to follow a career in internet stalking people. (ಠ_ಠ) ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

A link to some of my past characters, which I need because static tabs do not take up internet.

Infamous Quotes From People Who Exist

“I really don’t follow how your faith believes its perfectly acceptable to doom 4,000 years plus of sentient beings, on a pre-set path of no escape from sin, just so their descendants can be offered the ‘chance of salvation’ when the god murders its own son.”
~vikaTae

“Don’t be an ass or a pussy, ’lest you get screwed by life. Being a mouth or a hand is somewhat safer, and an eye socket is pretty much sacred in this regard, so always keep a look out.”

@TheWindel@KoL I suppose that's fair enough, though the guy ideally does need some reason in his backstory to be a mad scientist. I don't just want to write him in as having always been crazy and intelligent, and years of slavery is a perfect opportunity... how about this: the particular piece of demon-corrupted Machina tech that turned him crazy aside, he doesn't have any particular equipment aligned with either demons or humans to start with, possibly for lack of ability to acquire it before then. However, aside from its primary purpose, and as a side effect of what it was used to do to him previously, perhaps he could also use that bit of tech to modify just his wings, changing their appearance between angelic, machinesque, and demonic?
@Lmpkio And good to see you too. Here's hoping we have an enjoyable time of things.
@TheWindel Well, harpies are generally aligned with Heaven as a race, so I'd have to imagine he'd be aligned the same way. He'd certainly not stick with Hell, given that it was likely a demon or twenty who did all that experimentation and mind-warping on him.
@TheWindel Well, I've been informed that a male harpy is only born once every hundred years or so. That in mind, I was thinking I could make a male harpy, but have him be rather old to avoid conflicting with Syphax's birth date. Maybe a few hundred years or so, if that's alright? The catch, however, is that until the enslavement of his race, he didn't really do anything of worth for his race, essentially being a low-level soldier or what have you; with his enslavement, however, came experimentation upon him with... for now, let's call it demonically-corrupted Machina technology, in an effort to do terrible things to his body and mind. That, shall we say, worked as intended.

Essentially, the guy's intelligence is massively increased, and he's mutated to have four wings rather than the usual two, amongst other minor physical improvements; but he goes pretty batshit crazy as a result. Not that that helps him escape without assistance, necessarily, but with time and crazy, it occurs to him that the nature of the Nexus and associated realms has a degree of metaphysicality that can be messed with for greater effect than mere physical technology, starting with repurposing the item that gave him such insight once he's finally freed. Thus begins his journey over the past few months into extreme body modification - weird bits of tech are stolen or otherwise acquired, reverse-engineered, and implanted into his body, including a bunch of Machina stuff from KC-00032, but also including angelic and demonic technology and/or biomods as needed. I figure, amongst other things, that could include physiological changes that alter the appearance of his wings between the three factions, which would be a pretty cool aesthetic in my mind.
So a friend linked me to this game, and after taking a look around, I've come up with a character concept. Specifically, I'm wondering about making a harpy, since I was told they've had a mildly storied history of slavery in-game, yet I don't see very many harpy characters in the Characters tab. Seems like a niche that needs filling. The friend also mentioned a destroyed Machina factory, KC-00032, which I could perhaps incorporate into the character's backstory and powerset... just a thought.
@Lady Selune Well, Darran is interacting with Thenine, and a few other people have posted since you, so why not?
@jbeil Yes.

Of course they didn't eat plants. Why on Earth would they? Still, he'd received a name out of the exchange: Joshua Caldeyron. Mark made a mental note to ask Bart about that man later on.

Not that it mattered so much, because it turned out the ingredients were being used for wine. No, no, not some actual alchemical potion, but wine in some form or another. Knowing this man's bizarre nature, it was probably going to be some form of... demonic wine, perhaps. And blast the fact that it wasn't so easy to tell with plants like that- at best, he might be able to... maybe purify the wine with his sword once it was made, if he had access to it?

'...they'd best be human prostitutes,' was all Mark said on the matter, not bothering to try and make himself heard over Ian's own voice. 'Uncorrupted humans, mind.' He had no opinions on the matter of whether whoring oneself out was moral or not himself, beyond the fact that if a monster was mistaken for human within such a context, it could very easily lead to a nation's corruption into a demon realm, suggesting that thorough checks were required regardless.

Half an hour later, the warhounds finally moved on, and Ian continued rambling for a moment about how fragile the plants were, and how nice Mark was when in some cases he shouldn't be. If only he knew Mark's opinion about him right now... not bad enough to warrant murder, admittedly, but it was certainly less than positive.

Seconds later, one of the wardogs found him again. Because of course they did. Mark had just enough time to draw his sword and invoke the Ignis within to enhance his strength before the wardog was upon him; though surely very threatening to an ill-equipped man, Mark's armour was more than enough to keep its mouth off of his neck, and his magically-boosted strength more than sufficient to plant both feet into its gut and hurl it away over and beyond Ian.

'I'm doing just fine, thanks,' Mark offered, invoking the Undine in his weapon and snatching the dog out of the air with a tendril of liquid, then heaving it back over his head to slam hard into a tree a few meters away. After that, and since he was already invoking the fire-based spirit in his blade, he figured he might as well draw upon a bit more of its power, and manifested a sort of whip of controlled fire out of the sword's tip. Hot enough to blister any living flesh it touched- and he prepared to lash out at the Varjan wardog if it decided to charge him a second time- but with no real risk of setting anything ablaze. Ah, elemental magic, was there anything it couldn't assist with? Not that he wanted to kill the creature, naturally, just drive it away, or at least fend it off for long enough to let Ian handle the matter of foraging.
So how's everybody doing? Pretty good?
