Who was shouting?

Why was the world spinning?

...and why in twelve hells was it so bright?

Holding one hand up to his temple, the small, white-haired Lalafell squinted as he tried to raise his head up. The pounding in his head felt like that time he'd done dragon dives -- pints of ale with shots of rum dropped into 'em. Was that what they'd done done then? Was that why his head felt like it had been cleaved in twain, then smashed repeatedly by a brick whilst being shouted at by whatever it was that was filling his vision?

What was all that... jumping? floating? ...that stuff, whatever, was all about, then?

Grimacing against the daylight stabbing daggers into the backs of his eyes, the small rogue braced one hand against the ground beneath him, so to perhaps stave off the sensation of the world spinning, and then adjusted the hand that was on his head to provide for some relief from the sun. "Bloody 'ell, what you on 'bout?" the Lalafell asked, in the accented speech frequently heard among Limsa Lominsa's docks.

Blinking, pale green eyes looked out upon a curious creature the likes of which he'd not seen before. "Thal's bollocks, what are you?" the rogue blurted out next, startled to find himself looking at what looked like a cross between a phurble and a spriggan, with the wings of an imp and the ears...

As he looked past the ears, the little rogue's eyes feel next to the horizon beyond them. Forgetting the phurble for a moment, the Lalafell was dumbstruck by the absence of the sea.

Well, the sea... the sea should be there. If he'd been doing dragon dives, then they were... at that, that place. The alehouse. The one that was... Well, it was...

And he'd been drinking with the mates. You know, the mates! They were... And there was...

Was he still drunk? Why couldn't he remember? Small hands patted around his slight frame, noting the presence of his short blades and the particular absence of a flaggon or flask. As he turned his head, the Lalafell was presented by land that stretched in verdant, fertile fields in all direction. With no ocean in sight. "Belay that... where am I?"

And why wasn't there more rum?

If I can request some clarification on the IC set-up, are all of our characters waking up in the same location? Are they intended to be near/adjacent to one another? In the same region but not together?

Just want to make certain I have that detail straight for my first post.

MEMORIA

It's a dirty job, upholding right by the Pirates Code, but that's just what Perimu Haurimu set out to do when he joined with the Rogue's Guild. Far from the region of Thanalan from whence the Lalafell hail, this Plainsfolk Lala is a rare sight in Limsa Lominsa -- even more so for his unique habit of vanishing from plain sight. Like all members of the rogue guild, Underfoot puts forth the image of being a scallywag and thief masquerading behind the 'Dutiful Sisters of Edelweiss' in Limsa Lomisa.

A skilled detective and assassin, Underfoot has demonstrated the ability to throw a dagger with sufficient force as to kill a Hyur more than twice his size. In policing the underworld of Limsa Lominsa he often works alongside the Miq'ote V'Kebbe as her shadow, staying hidden or playing the fool in order to compliment her skills as a master of manipulation and disguise. But once he's out from the shadows, watch out! This little Lalafell is a whirling dervish of steel edge and dirty tricks.

• Underfoot has a tribal blade tattoo that extends up his right arm, side, and back.

VISION

I'd originally had in mind to bring a White Mage, but the sheets above made me discount that and return to the drawing board. As far as the character being a Lalafell, I always tend to seek a balance between comedy relief and drama in serious roleplay and so these types of characters always get my attention. The selection of class/job was due largely to the fact that the concept of the rogues in XIV is seemingly a combination of Robin Hood and Pirates of the Caribbean, and that theme of the rogue as a thief with a heart of gold is something I'd love to explore. At the same time, XIV is littered with these very colorful NPCs who sometimes join you for a cutscene, party, or quest (such as Underfoot), but they don't get much development. As such, I'm hoping to take advantage of the blank slate that I have with Underfoot to really give him some depth of character.

In Dungeons & Dragons, it's often said that the group isn't complete without a kid or a dwarf. So, applying that logic here, I'm bringing the Lalafell.

Also, since XIV uses very different mechanics, I had to play around some with what to put on the CS (particularly the weapons section, since even when they join your party you never have any stats on the particulars of your companions weapons, aside from the model). Let me know if anything needs to be edited.

Honestly I'd say Batfleck is one of the best Batman we've seen on the big screen. Still lacking in the department of World's Greatest Detective but otherwise it looked and felt like Batman.

Have to say though I don't really agree with some of the above spoilers or how much people are arguing that Batman does break the rules. Keaton and Bale both do the same over the course of their movies and nobody batted an eye.

Those of us who are a little older remember the panic and sheer vitriol that hit the media when Michael Keaton was cast as Batman.

They could cast Bruce Wayne, and people would still find something to complain about.

Not sure how much you guys know about FF14, but they have a few fun/troll quests from time to time. I know this RP has a serious tone to it with amnesiac characters and mysterious revelation stuffs, but having some fun can also help to develop the characters, right?

All my ideas involve FF XIV. Too many ideas right now in fact. I'm interested to see some sheets to get an idea what the party make-up is going to look like.

Are there particular parts of the FF franchise you're wanting the pool of characters to come from? Or not come from?

In particular, I have some canons from XIV in mind. But, I can just as easily adjust to characters from a different FF.

Okay, thanks for letting me know. I'll push along in a day or two, seeing how that's most convenient for me, anyway, but if you're still blocked by then that's no problem. I'll just mention that Damian tells Miles his name, and then move back towards a solo arc, I guess, if that's cool.

Without Dick Grayson, I'm having to figure out to marry Damian with the origins of Robin. That predicament seemed as good a spot as any to plant the seed.
