Current Sorry for my lack of posts lately. I've just... been struggling to get the energy to write something up. I'm trying some new meds through so hopefully that will change soon.

While the nap was in and of itself rather enjoyable, Artyom couldn't laze around all day; There were things to do, people to talk to, plans to make for when they arrived in hostile terrain, training drills to run; Sure there wasn't exactly much room on the ship for anything too advanced but even if they weren't a proper military unit didn't mean they could just slack the hell off. They were going into enemy held terrain, he needed to know that everyone under his command knew what they were doing!

People not knowing what they were doing led to people dying.

Dressing himself out of instinct and repetition, Artyom walked out onto the deck of the ship... and noticed that bowman was talking to a new girl. For a moment he considered the possibility that they were recruiting some more people from Santorini until he approached and got a better look at the girl... and caught a whiff of her. He quickly found himself labeling her as a refugee instead of as a possible recruit. "And I want to be able to eat bacon and poop emeralds. The difference between us is that I'm halfway successful." He quickly spoke up, having overheard the girl's intent.

Looking at her in a manner that was clearly judging her abilities and finding them wanting from what he could see, he simply asked "Do you have either a weapon, armor or training with either of those things?"
As the author of this adventure, I find it highly insulting that you would dare insinuate plot armour. He's just really lucky until I say so. And he's better than you. :)

So... he's a typical elf then? Does that mean if our elf went up against him that it would be an even fight for a change?
Nation/Clan/Kingdom/Tribe Name: Orc Grave Swamp Enclave
Represented Color: Dark Green
Race: Goblins
Features:
High Cunning, Strong Poison Resistant, Physically weak and frail, Good technology

Capital: The Enclave
Ruler: Gredy Silvertongue, first and currently only leader of the Orc Grave Swamp Enclave

Type of Government: In theory, any goblin can be in charge of the Enclave. In practice, the position tends to go to the wisest and most cunning goblin in order to try and lead it to the best of their abilities.

Religion:
The Orc Grave Swamp Enclave worships a variety of minor local spirits and deities, however one of the more widely accepted deities of the Enclave as a whole is the Great Swamp Dragon, whom stalks the deeper swamp and occasional leaves it to seek out food. While the rituals vary from goblin to goblin, the whole enclave takes part in the 'Appeasement Ritual' in which they leave a large offering of food on an altar where the black dragon can find it.

Geographical Location:

History:
Goblin kind has often been left out of the history scrolls and stories, their larger orc masters often ignoring them unless they were bored or wishing to vent their anger out of something. Treated little better then slaves, it isn't strange for goblins to disappear during the night and trying to make their way somewhere else in the world. Most don't survive long on their own.

The Orc Grave Swamp is named as such for the simple reason that it's plant and animal life tends to be so poisonous that any attempt by the taller, less nimble races of the world to pass through it results in a quick and painful death. However, recently a number of former goblin slaves escaped into the swamp and somehow avoided death long enough to establish a life for themselves; It was still a hard life and they didn't exactly thrive, but they were free of their orcish overlords. Word spread of this safe place for goblins to flee their masters too and over the years many goblins from the different orc tribes and warbands fled into the swamp in search of a story. While many were claimed by the swamp, enough were discovered and accepted into the settlement that it actually started to grow.

Due to the many different tribes that the members of the settlement had been apart of, the settlement was declared the Orc Grave Swamp Enclave.

Is that actually a no then? Is he protected by impenetrable plot armour?

Damn it! The worst kind of armor... It's the same bullshit that Abaddon and the Everchosen wears.
Every good knight knew that a firearm was the weapon of the cowardly... even if they were effective at what they did. As he charged forward Fortune found himself surprised to discover that whatever kind of weapon that false knight had been firing not only proved itself highly inaccurate, but also unable to even get through his shield! If the crossbow men had still had ammunition they would have made a better show of it!

However, if there had been any lingering doubt that he was still in the real world they were very quickly dashed due to assaults on multiple fronts. Watching copies of the very people you were charging towards drop dead while the people in question were still clearly standing was... disconcerting to say the least, but it was what appeared to be some strange kind of liquid metal that was trying to spread over his shield that was cause for more immediate concerns. He didn't know what would happen if it made contact with human flesh and he didn't want to find out; Without hesitation he cast the shield aside as he continued the charge... only to have the archer prove himself worthy of wielding a bow.

Slowing down to a stop as he watched the interrogation of the last surviving goon, Fortune took a moment to catch his breath as he looked around at the full extent of the strange growing liquid metal and the harm that it was doing. While he had yet to see it encounter flesh yet... he didn't want to find out what happened when it did.

Despite the fact that the knight whom had used the enchanted firearm was clearly a disgrace of a knight, one couldn't deny his tenacity; Arrow lodged in his visor, he rose once more in an attempt to drive what appeared to be another of those enchanted bolts into the ground once more. While another of the passengers attempted to wrestle the man and prevent him from being successful, Fortune attempted to close the distance as quickly as possible in order to assist by slamming the pummel of his sword down on the knight's head as hard as he could in an attempt to stun him.
So who's dropped out?

Might try and come up with some ideas to build a nation from the shattered remains of one of the old ones rather then craft one completely from scratch. Might also help build into the lore of the world too.
Posted twice because Fortune needed to react to the falling barrier instead of just standing there like a freaking idiot.
The moment that the magical barrier that he had been factoring into his plan had dropped, Fortune couldn't stop himself from cursing the cowardly witch for her cowardly treachery; Through in truth he was more mad at himself for daring for even a moment for trusting the magic user to do the right thing and stand her ground.

With the barrier down, there was only one action left to him. Drawing his sword he charged at the small team armed with crossbows and some kind of advanced firearm, his shield up in order to be moved to protect him from what was no doubt going to be a hail of fire. All he could do was trust in his shield, his armor and the gods themselves to protect him from injury and death; If he could somehow manage to close the distance before they had the chance to reload, he might have a chance but it was a big if...

It was the only course of action left to him through. The only alternative was to turn and try to run away but not only was that absolutely cowardly all that it would do was provide them with his back to shoot at. Charging forwards was the only way now. "FOR BRETONNIA!"
@Zarkun

Okay, altered my post a little. My bad.

@Lugubrious

...Aren't you on another team? Why are you where we are?

It turned out to be surprisingly easy to commandeer a ship... the key word of course being the word 'Commandeer'. While the Captain might have been a little grumpy at the fact that the King was giving him a mission that he couldn't refuse, the promise of compensation for a successful return with useful information helped lower tensions before they had a chance to raise to high. It wasn't even a lie either; Artyom fully did intend to pay the man for his time and efforts from the money they received from the bounty that the King offered, so in practice the King was in fact paying to send a team into dangerous terrain on a mission that he gave... The fact that the paycheck was also reliant of the ground team coming back mostly alive would also ensure that the boat didn't just abandon them after dropping them off.

The trip to Santorini was long and uneventful; While others might have taken the time to get to know each other, Artyom was content with simply learning what skills people had and making notes on how best to use them to their advantage once they arrived in truly dangerous turf. While names were given, he hadn't really bothered to remember all but a few, instead making use of nicknames for people more related to their abilities or some other noticeable feature then anything else.

As the ship took on more supplies after docking at Santorini, Artyom remained on the ship. While a part of it had to do with the island not having much he wished to indulge in, most of it was because he wanted to keep an eye on the ship... and make bets with himself to see how many of the people they started out with would disappear on the island and fail to continue the trip onwards.

Quietly, he took the time to enjoy a nap while there were relatively few people on the ship and it was nice and quiet.
