If you're roleplaying with your only friends, you're roleplaying with your best friends.

I think to sell someone on an interest check, it's really important to seem enthusiastic about your own idea. That means writing more than a single sentence to attract potential players.

Did you know that Dante's inferno is called a divine comedy because things work out for the protagonist? Back in the day, the only two genres were comedy and drama. The only difference was that in a comedy, the protagonist is better off at the end, and a drama is the opposite. So that's why a story about going through hell can still be considered a comedy, even if it's not funny.

Name:
Broken Promise, BP, Boss

Age:
Old enough to know better, too young to care. (that is to say 30's)

Preferred RPs:
I Prefer to make my own, but will occasionally join something if it looks interesting. I'll join just about anything so long as it isn’t overly edgy/sweet, though it's rare for me to do. I don't do 1x1s too often either.

Preferred Roles:
I tend to play adorable characters everyone wants to befriend or proper assholes everyone wants to stay away from. I try not to play moral paragons or prime evils.

RP Conquests:
I've completed quite a few RP's off site, but most of them are on private forums or have simply been lost to the ravages of server crashes. As for stuff here, I'm sure everyone who sees me post in the off topic sections has seen me find an excuse to talk about Danganronpa: Tower of Carnage. It's a project that took over 4 years to complete and I feel pride not only for myself but all the wonderful people who helped make it enjoyable during its run. Re: Zero: The High Council Is technically my first, but it was just something I kind of took over and ended up ending the story after just six months. It finished, but eh...

Last RP I finished was Symphony of Espers which turned out pretty good.

RP's in progress:
For some reason I can't seem to stay away from Ari's magical girl RP, even if I'm not sure why I'm still in it.

As for my own projects, I'm doing Symphony on High to continue the gigachad adventures of the espers in Pax Septimus.

RP Graveyard:
I've been pretty fortunate on this forum. I think I joined one when I first came on the site that didn't really do anything, and there are a few 1x1 things that didn't go anywhere. It's disappointing when an RP ends before it can be finished, but I've come to look at them as learning experiences.

And then there's that london magical girl RP, and that dark magical girl RP. I think I'm done joining magical girl RPs for a while.

Other interests:
Videos
I watch a lot of educational videos on youtube. Usually as research for something I’m writing or purely because a topic interests me. I like channels like Tier Zoo and Daryl Talks Games, and I’ll also watch things like Critical Drinker or Literature Devil to deepen my understanding of story telling. Though I also like memes and jokes, to which I’ll find myself watching stuff like Sseth, but usually find myself surfing through meme videos. I gotta work on that.

Games
I have a rather long history of playing virtually every platformer to come into existence during the indie boom, as well as quite a few other indie games. I’ve played Meatboy, Binding of Issac, Gunvolt, Cuphead, Princess Remedy in a World of Hurt, Classic Metroid, Warcraft 3, Final Fantasy 7,8, and 14, Left 4 Dead, Shantae, Celeste, Danganronpa, God Eater, the list goes on. What I’ve played is kind of all over the place. I don’t play many games these days, I tend to pick things that look interesting and go on a decent steam sale.

Painting Minis
I do this in moderation. Otherwise, it's a pretty expensive hobby to start...

Music
I listen to everything, save most country/rap songs. I have too many favorites to name.

Personality:
Not one to take life or the internet too seriously. Is only serious about writing well and having a good time.

People to Insult:
Dalton is a Dingus.

I understand that collaborations can make the RP easier for the players and the readers. But when get paired with someone who writes in a very black and white way.(I do this I say this I see this, no detail) I struggle to keep my own form of writing that focuses on sight and sound, and to keep the post less confusing I will tone it down, but collabs are very hit or miss.

When I get in a collab with someone who doesn't like writing a lot of details, I take it as a signal that they would like me to write or make up all the details. The same way I tend to not write inner monologues if my buddy is, or describe things that have already been described. If you're having difficulty understanding something that was written, asking the other player for additional details usually works.

Hope that helps down the road. Some people overuse collabs, and they aren't good in every situation. But they are more versatile than one might think.

I'm totally not biased towards collabs BTW.

Shortly after Jezebel and Faith's mock display of affection, the flirty spy's smile started to fade. He took a step back, adjusted his jacket, and started to walk in the opposite direction, occasionally looking over his shoulder at the two.

The girls burst into laughter as soon as he was gone.

“Well, I guess we totally aren't hooking up with that guy.” Jezebel slipped out of Faith's hold. “I'll see you later!” the clown headed up stairs without saying another word.

"Migrane? Nope. Flu? Nope. Blood thinner? I already have that."

Mercy could be heard looking around in the pharmacy, trying to find some pills she didn't seem to have already in her bag. "Ugh! Don't tell me they don't have a prescription for-"

“LONELINESS!” Jezebel said while popping up behind Mercy.

"AAAAH-!!" The startled plague doctor quickly turned around to see that Jez overheard her. "Du Hurensohn! Couldn't you knock first?!" Mercy asked the trickster, calming herself down with deep breaths.

“Number uno, you totally don't knock on an open door.” Jezebel was counting her fingers. “Number dos, I was actually looking for Lucy, but like, I heard your voice. And number tres, you're so brave for walking around here by yourself. Good thing I'm not like that other trickster huh?” The clown gave Mercy a big grin and placed her hands together innocently.

"You could knock on the wall though." Mercy said, putting the blood thinner she was holding back on it's shelf. "But yeah of course, I've already been around here a few times before. And honestly? you're alot better than Mr. Steele Wool, haha." She joked.

Jezebel chuckled a bit before lowering her hands onto her hips.“Well, you know what I'm saying.” Jezebel tipped her head. “Everyone really liked Shaun. But I guess you and I came into this killing game at about the same time.” She frowned a bit. “ Like that must be why you're not broken up over it.” After stairing off in thought for a bit, she turned back towards Mercy. “This is going to sound so weird, but like, is there anyone you're particularly fond of down here?”

"As in?" Mercy asked back, tilting her head in confusion.

“Like, people you're friendly with? People you trust?” Jezebel shrugged her shoulders with a smile. “Your friends?”

"Oh. Well, some of the others seem nice, but with our current problem, the only one I actually trust is Edgeface. I mean, we've known each other before we got stuck here, so of course I'd mostly hang out with her." Mercy answered, before walking up to the door. "Yet I'm definitely sure Isaiah can be trusted, after the madness that was the last trial."

“Edge...face?” It took Jezebel a moment to realize who Mercy was referring to. “Oh, ha, Alice!” The clown bounced backwards. “How did you two first meet? Like I wasn't aware you guys were pals. That's cool.”

"I sometimes got called in where Alice's reconnaissance team was stationed around. When they were waiting to be called in, I slowly started to talk with her more and more, and before I knew it, we became friends." Mercy explained, adjusting her hat. "She's kinda like a little sister to me."

”That makes sense.” Jezebel's grin widened a bit. “Anyway, one of my friends just came to this killing game.” She turned on her heel. “So I'm just letting you know, if you're not into romance and junk, you'd better steer clear. Because she's totally going to pair you up with someone. And by the sound of it, it's going to be Ice.”

"Oh dear..." Mercy mumbled, her hand over her head. "Alice's gonna be pissed if your friend tries to set HER up with someone. She hasn't been interested in romance for a looong while. Me? I'm atleast cool with it."

Jezebel looked over her shoulder at Mercy. ”Pretty sure no one is going to enjoy it, but it was just a heads up.” Jezebel spun around again to face the doctor. “Of course, if you're interested in protecting Alice... I may have some ideas.”

"Whatdya have in mind?" The plague doctor hesitantly asked.

Jezebel folded her hands behind her back. “Oh, nothing that serious I assure you.” Jezebel gave the doctor another huge grin. “But I don't really know exactly what at this time. This just happened a few minutes ago, and I'm totally thinking of things now. But if I have an ally in all of this, that would be tre good.” Jezebel's eyes went to half mast. “Like You don't want Alice to get upset, right?”

"Yeah, I dont want her to get to the 'Throwing Punches' level of anger."

Jezebel closed her eyes in aproval “Then I'll get back to you after I've had some time to think of something.” The clown walked backwards out of the pharmacy. “We'll meet up again later, if not at noon, then at night. Faithshouldn't catch a word of this.” And with a devious giggle, the trickster disappeared from sight.

"...Right, see you then."

But I still gotta know...

I'm good with that.

The area was populated with quite a few magical girls now. It did seem like the assault was going to happen, and a lot sooner than Sue suspected. Though it was plain to see that not everyone was on board with working together. Amber and Mariette definitely had some things to talk out, and it wasn't something that should happen in a public setting like this. But it did need to be addressed. Amber's, um, ship, and Mariette's portals were very important in all of this, and they needed to cooperate as best as possible.

When Eli approached them, Sue's attention returned to what she could do at the moment. “Um, well.” Sue walked up beside the harpy girl and looked at her notes with her. “I don't know how much time we have, but I think we should at least start with people who might be willing to help.” She shuttered. “If we try to get too many people, Justine could easily slip into our ranks and ruin everything.”

@PlatinumSkink
- I am not struggling when I roleplay. Or I guess I should say the most interesting things happen when I'm struggling. I struggle when something happens that doesn't allow thing to progress exactly the way I envisioned. Though finding workarounds for such things is part of the fun for me. With writing longer stories (not RPing) I struggle with content. I have a good story, and I struggle with finding ways to make it longer. It always feels like I'm adding fluff that serves to weaken whatever I'm writing. This is probably why I don't write novels.

- I've been writing for a long time, and there really isn't anything that makes me feel anxious. I did stop writing for a few years, and I was wondering if I still "had it," but most if it came back pretty quickly. Some things just never leave you.

- I do not have "memory issues" but I do keep a folder filled with information I might forget. I've found myself doing that less and less, unless it's something extremely convoluted like the murder plots in my RP.

- I took a break from writing after all of my old RP buddies basically quit without saying anything. I had convinced myself for a long time that I had fallen out of love with writing. But I eventually realized I needed an outlet for my creativity that videogames and movies couldn't fill. Role playing made me rediscover my love for the hobby.

- Best advice I can give is not to be such a perfectionist. You'll learn more writing a hundred posts than trying to write one post perfectly. You'll learn more writing a thousand stories than trying to write one perfectly. Do try your best to put out good work, but we can get caught up on the stupidest things sometimes. Once I was stuck on a single line of dialog for an hour because I couldn't make it sound quite as dramatic as I wanted to. That isn't good for anyone.
>When people act like smug, insufferable asshats OOC. Then proceed to complain about how nobody wants to write with them despite how "good" they are.

I'm not 100% sure what's going on, but that's an unhealthy amount of screaming.
