"No. This is somewhere to be. This is all you have, but it's still something. Streets and sodium lights. The sky, the world. You're still alive."

Well.
Apparently no one is going on the jet.
I feel like a dumb.
Seeing as everyone was preparing to go, Walter adjusted his cap, pulled down on his mask and secured it under his shirt, straightened his jacket, then made sure his grappling hook was there. He grinned, and finally the mask replicated it with a smiley face. "Now let's go save our friends! Or girlfriend in Speedy McFastman's case." Walter says, gesturing to Ryan. With that, he followed the rest onto the jet, humming a song.
While Rev jumped up and down, Walter attempted to prop himself up on Bruce's desk, only to fall over and onto his butt. "Agh! Dammit, someone calm this little kid down before the floor caves in!" He yells, clutching his head and picking himself up. "I swear, if you do this on the jet and we plunge into the fricking ocean... Then I'd probably be dead, but if I was alive then I'd do something... Something bad!"
Walter paused to think for a moment. This kid was shaking the entire building just by jumping up and down. Imagine how his punches felt... That wouldn't be fun. "On second thought, if you can shake a building just by jumping, I don't think it'd be smart for a normal human like me to go up against you. You'd probably snap me like a toothpick or something..."

Phantom was silent. She was talking about letting those vermin, those scum get away and crawl back into their holes with their heroin and booze. But that was as a team. When they're not working together, they can do what they want. Phantom paused for a moment, before sighing in defeat. "Fine. But it won't stop me from breaking their arms and fracturing their ribs." He said. "But don't expect me to be so merciful if we go up against Polybius... I need to take that bastard down."
Well.
Apparently I missed a lot of conversations.
"The bald Heaven's Gate looking dude? Alright then. The sooner we get to kick ass, take names and rescue our friends, the better." Walter says, grinning ear-to-ear under his mask, although the mask was just randomly recreating ink blots rather than recreating his expression as it normally does. Anyway, needless to say, Walter was excited. His first mission. As an actual superhero. An honest-to-God superhero. 'Wait till dad finds out,' he thinks to himself.
Phantom pauses for a moment, thinking it over. 'These people seem soft,' he thinks. 'Probably never killed before. Are probably just normal people who wanted to make a difference, and have social lives and homes and families and no mental disorders. But not me. I have nothing to fight for. No social life, no home, no family, and mental disorders. Maybe they could be my... Friends? Give me something to fight for? Maybe.

'Guess I'll have to find out.'

"... I'm in." He says, putting his gloved hand in the center of the table. "But don't think this means I'll go soft on the scum."
"We just lost a potential team member. Whoever sent the letters should come clean before I leave, too." Phantom says, standing up. "I could be cleaning up the streets right now, instead of sitting around and twiddling my goddamn thumbs." He then shouts, mainly to anyone who could possibly be hiding in the warehouse: "Whoever wrote those letters should stop wasting my fucking time and come out here!"
"... Only two people today, so far." Noel said, then blinked a few times. Thomas then saw the realization on his face. Yeah, Thomas was trying to talk junk. "I mean! I d-don't know, sir. Perhaps you should try asking the sheriff." Thomas held back a laugh. Alright, that was a good one. Still didn't mean he hated the kid any less. "Funny, kid. There may be hope for you yet."

Earlier, an RV pulled up to the gas station. Thomas didn't pay any mind to it, but then a young man walked out of it. He was limping, so he probably had an old wound or something. Maybe he needs to use the bathroom. Maybe not. Anyhow, he walked up to Noel and Thomas, then said: "Um, excuse me? I'm new here, may I ask for some help? I'd like some directions to the local graveyard, I've got some things to say, then I'll be heading out."

'Interesting,' Thomas thought, 'has something to say? In a graveyard? What, to a grave? Maybe he's not new here...' Nonetheless, he doesn't push it. Noel then told the guy the directions, and Thomas nodded. "Yeah, that's the fastest way there." Then Noel said something about a sale on gum. "Fucking jackass..." Thomas muttered, before walking away and back to his hotel.

Back at the hotel, Thomas plucked up the card, walked around the desk, sat in the chair and threw the card back into its usual spot. Thomas then pulled out his phone and earbuds, put the earbuds in, well, his ears, and turned on some music. He then leaned back and closed his eyes. Hopefully no one wants to book a room today. He just wants to relax.

Yeeeeeaaaaaah, that's not gonna happen probably.
While everyone was trying to calm Hachi, Walter just sat back and watched on, fanning himself with his hand. Finally, the room returned to room temperature and Hachi was calmed down, thanks to the consolations of three students Walter hasn't met before. Anyhow, Bruce then told the students who stood to see him in his office. "Well, let's get going. Those five aren't gonna save themselves!" Walter exclaimed, jumping up from his seat and following Hachi to Bruce's office.
