You wouldn’t believe how many times I reread the intro post to make sure that the characters were in hero costumes. I think you having more detail will help.

Also, I will be editing my post. I noticed several mistakes and will fix them here shortly.

Well, let me ask you this: Did you read through the interest check and everything posted here? Are you sure you have a pretty good grasp on the where the story is and everything? Do you understand why they are at the Hall and the initial plot discussed over in my first post in the Interest Check? I'm worried that maybe you skimmed over a lot of it and I don't think either of us wants me to have to keep asking for edits on every post moving forward. I'm not trying to pick on you, I just do my best to avoid plot holes and make sure everyone is on the same page.

While we're on that topic, does anyone else have any questions I can answer? Anything you're unsure of? I'm off work now, so I will be working on revamping my intro post shortly and then I'll write my new post after that.

Well, I was curious, what group application are you referring to for Gar? I never mentioned any group application XD.

Gar was quite excited that he was invited to the Hall of Justice by Martian Manhunter. He had been a solo hero for a couple of years now, and he was not sure a group so well known would want him in the group. He had applied for the group a couple of times but his application was denied every time. So there must be some reason for his application to be accepted this time around.

Okay, cool. So I'm gonna edit my intro post after work later tonight to add in more detail, but nothing that would invalidate anyone else's post. It'll just be more sensory observations of the characters and the environment, which I chose to originally leave out to make the intro post shorter. Then, once everyone has their first post done, I'll write my second one and have my characters respond to everything that happened in the other posts XD.

So, I have a question for you guys. It was brought to my attention in past RPs that I put too much detail into my posts and made them too long, so this time around, in the hopes of not scaring anyone off, I sort of did the bare minimum for details in my intro post. But what do you all think? Would you prefer more detail in my posts? To give you a couple examples, here are two intro posts from past RPs where I put in a looooot of detail and they got suuuuper long:

Los Angeles, California
Friday (Early Afternoon), June 2nd, 2023

With blue skies and sunshine above, students all over the city prepared to begin their Summer vacation, the final day of school having finally arrived. For seniors, the graduation ceremonies wouldn’t occur until the following week, but classes would officially be out. Inside a large red brick building, people were filing into the auditorium as a group of speakers gathered on the stage, setting up microphones and a projector screen.

Standing by the main entrance doors, an older man in a brown suit and tie eyed the crowd frantically, becoming a bit anxious. His eyes lit up as he caught sight of a young girl with dark brown hair, waving her over to him.

“Camelia! Have you seen your brother?” He asked, sighing in frustration when she shrugged.

“I’m sorry, Principal White,” she said as she adjusted her bag. “I haven’t seen him since this morning.”

“Damn it, that little shit is up to something, I just know it!” he replied angrily, then frowned. “I’m sorry, Camelia, I shouldn’t have cursed in front of you. I’m just worried he’s going to embarrass me yet again, with members of Congress here no less! You know how many Hail Marys I’ve had to say because of his shenanigans? Too many! TOO MANY!” He stormed off to check empty classrooms.

Sully, what the hell are you planning this time? Cammy thought to herself as she sighed loudly. She then went to find a seat in the auditorium.

A young man with long brown hair leaning against a locker was suddenly pulled out of his thoughts as the principal rushed past, muttering angrily under his breath. What’s his problem? He thought to himself, then shook his head. A moment later, a few other students came up to him.

“Hey Kam, are you going to the party tonight?” they asked in hushed whispers. “I hear it’s going to be wild as fuck!”

“I’ve been hearing talk of it, but I dunno, it’s not really my thing…” he replied, but something told him he should be there. “Maybe I will…”

“Dude, you should!” another kid insisted. “Hope to see you there!”

“Okay, I’ll think about it,” Kamran added with a laugh as they all headed towards the auditorium.

As everyone was seated and the speakers began their prepared speeches, Principal White continued to spiral deeper into anxiety, just waiting for something to happen. When they started up the projector to play a series of videos for the students in attendance, they were instead greeted with an image that instantly made the principal’s heart drop.

“What’s up Harper Grove?!” Sully’s voice came booming over the speakers, as well as the intercoms throughout the entire school. “We are Rabid Trash Pandas! This is the cover of our new indie album, Heavenly Dumpsterfire! Check out our social media accounts for all the deets!”

“That little monster!” screamed Principal White, literally vibrating with rage. Just then, the image faded and it was a live video feed of the four band members set up in a room, instruments and all. “They’re in my office! They hacked the projector! Those slackers are so dead! Someone get that feed down!” He ran out into the hallway.

As people frantically rushed to cut power to the projector, Sully continued. “I imagine White is absolutely losing his shit right now! If they cut the feed, we’re also live on our Instagram! In honor of those corrupt political douchebags speaking today, we’d like to play our rendition of Fat Lip by Sum 41! Guys, hit it!” They started jamming out as most of the crowd cheered.

The music blared throughout the entire school, and White became increasingly livid as he rushed to his office. Upon arriving, he realized his door was locked and someone had swiped his keys. He looked through the window and screamed at the youths rocking out, slamming his fists against the glass. They ignored him and just kept playing.

“OPEN THIS DOOR RIGHT THIS INSTANT!!!” the old man shrieked as the school police officers came running up behind him. He then turned and ran the other direction.

“Sir, where are you going?” one asked.

“To the maintenance office to get the spare key! Those little punks are toast!”

Back in the auditorium, they finally shut off the projector, but the students yelled out, “Quick, head over to their Insta!” and everyone started pulling out their phones, much to the fury of the speakers.

Sully, Mom is gonna kill you… Cammy thought to herself as she facepalmed.

Interesting fellow, Kamran chuckled to himself.

Eventually, White was able to get into his office and demanded the teens exit into the hall. A bunch of students were waiting to cheer them on. “You guys! The stream was seen by thousands of people, even seniors at other schools around the city!” one explained.

“People are already reloading it up to YouTube with reactions! Your performance is bound to go viral!” proclaimed another.

Sully and his bandmates were quite pleased with themselves, until White started screaming again.

“That’s it! Enough! The four of you are done! DONE!” he exclaimed angrily. “You’re all expelled!”

“So what?” Sully scoffed. “It’s the last day of school. So you send us home a couple hours early? I sure do feel sufficiently punished, what about you guys? Ha!”

“Not just that!” the old man spat back. “The four of you are being trespassed from the school! That means no graduation ceremony for you! If you ever step foot on the campus again, you’re going to jail!”

The band members just glared at the principal, disappointed but not surprised.

“Whatever,” Sully threw up double birds and went to clean out what was left in his locker.

“Mom might just kill you for real this time,” Cammy said as she walked up to her brother. “White will no doubt have called her by the time you get home.”

“I guess it’s a good thing I won’t be there then,” he replied with a smirk as he shoved stuff into his bag.

“What do you mean?” she asked, taken aback.

“That ‘secret’ party is tonight. If I go home now, Mom will ground me for sure and I won’t be able to go,” he explained.

“Aren’t you always whining like, ‘you can’t ground me, I’m eighteen!’ and shit?” Cammy inquired in a mock imitation of him, grinning.

“Since when has that stopped her?” Sully laughed. “Not taking any chances. I’m gonna put my phone in airplane mode and chill at Nate’s house until the show. Are you gonna be there?”

“I suppose I should probably tag along to keep you out of trouble,” she chuckled. “I’ll meet you guys there.”

Friday (Late Evening/Early Night), June 2nd, 2023

As it neared 10:00PM, dozens of teens from multiple schools - and some friends and family of those - began crowding in front of a locked set of double doors, having parked their vehicles in a garage down the street. There were two guards who explained the host, Mr. Dude, would be out soon.

A few of the partygoers congratulated Sully and his band on their performance, and some of the reaction videos had already garnered hundreds of thousands of views. They were excited at the prospect of possibly getting a record deal out of it as well. Just then, the doors opened and a man wearing a yellow suit and green mask stepped out.

“How do?” he asked, using exaggerated, cartoon-like mannerisms and expressions.

“I am your esteemed host, Mr. Dude! Now you may be asking yourself,” he removed his hat as he gestured to his mask. “Why the green face? Well, let’s just say I have an invested interest in concealing my identity, considering the… escapades you lot might get up to tonight!”

He smiled wide at the crowd, revealing large, fake teeth. “Now, was I forgetting something? Hmmm…” He released an exaggerated yawn, then pulled out a stopwatch and gasped at it, throwing behind him. “That’s right! It’s party time! P-A-R-T-why? Cuz I gotta!”

“You should be ashamed of yourself!” one girl yelled out, who was booed by everyone else. “This is sinful! The Lord is watching you, sir!”

He just smirked and slipped his hat back on. “Oooh! Somebody stop me!” Everyone laughed and cheered.

Mr. Dude led them through a long hall and into a huge room set up like a nightclub.

“Food and beverages are in the corner over there! Everything is free! Help yourselves! Hey D.J., let’s rock this joint!”

Everyone started moving and dancing to the music, and Sully happened to lock eyes with a tanned surfer boy. He grinned and began slowly making his way in that general direction. Cammy was busy busting some moves, but Kamran sat at one of the tables, feeling a bit… off. Something was amiss here. He felt strange, but wasn’t sure if it was the party or something… else…

TEN YEARS AGO

It was a clear, warm night in the Utopian Parallel, the stars above shining down upon the island community. On any other occasion, people would be out late enjoying the beaches and playing music. But the usual laughter that permeated the air had been replaced with horrified screaming as an army of werewolves were currently ripping their way through the neighborhoods.

The invaders were known as the Patriot Pack, and were deeply involved with white-supremacist ideologies and far-right extremism. Hiding from the chaos in a basement was a young America Chavez, huddled with her mothers.

“We’re gonna die. We’re gonna die. We’re gonna die…” the girl was repeating in a terrified whisper.

“It will be okay, Mer-Mer. They won’t find us here,” Elena insisted, though the fear in her eyes betrayed her words.

“You grabbed the ring Miss Amora gave you like I asked, right honey?” Amalia asked. America nodded. “Put it on just in case, okay?”

“But it can’t make us all invisible, only me…”

“That’s okay, honey. Please, put it on. For us? It will make us feel better.” Elena added.

The young girl reached into her pocket and pulled out the ring, and was about to slip it on as they heard a loud crashing upstairs.

“I smell them!” came a deep, bestial voice from the floor above. “They’re hiding! Rip everything apart! Check every room!”

“Put the ring on, now. Put it on!” Amalia demanded in a loud whisper. Too scared to speak any further, the girl just nodded rapidly and slipped the ring on, vanishing from sight. A moment later, a group of werewolves smashed their way into the basement, and the poor child watched in utter horror as her mothers were slaughtered.

“NOOO!!!” she screamed out, unable to contain herself. The monsters spun around sharply and sniffed in her direction.

“Another one! In that corner! They’re invisible!” The wolves charged her position.

“No! No! No!” America scrambled to her feet and tried to run around her attackers to flee up the stairs, but they heard her movements. One of the wolves turned and backhanded the air, impacting the girl and causing her to stumble. She fell to the ground, the ring falling off her tiny finger and sliding away.

“She’s a little one. Only a snack! But meat is meat!”

America jumped back up and grabbed the ring, but she was knocked over yet again, pinned to the floor. Looking up at the drooling fangs as the monsters hovered over her, she felt herself overcome with a strong urge to escape. Just then, a warm energy began to bubble up inside her, exploding outward in a giant blast that knocked all the wolves back and ripped open a star-shaped portal directly under her.

“What?! AAAHHH!” she screamed out as she suddenly found herself falling through a blue sky, away from the star portal that showed her basement. The wolves looked out through the rift in shock as the girl continued to drop into an entire row of portals, passing between at least a dozen different Earths in quick succession.

She finally came to a stop in a dead forest underneath a reddish sky, and immediately noticed the air seemed dry and harsh, burning her throat and nose. Before she could fully take in her surroundings, she felt an energy source moving rapidly towards her location. This was a sensation she had never felt before, but she knew immediately that this entity was pure darkness.

Still gripping the ring tightly in a closed fist, she frantically slipped it on as she felt the strange being getting closer. It rushed into the sea of dead trees, and although America could not see this entity, she could feel it floating around just above her.

“Interesting…” came a booming, distorted, disembodied male voice. “You shield yourself from my view, but I know you are there. I can… taste your energy. A very young soul, yet so much power, laying dormant. You are not from this world, and I sense fragments of spacetime from multiple universes all around you. Come, show yourself to me, child.”

America stayed still and quiet, hoping the entity would go away.

“I promise, I won’t hurt you, little one,” he added, his voice gentler. “I couldn’t even if I wanted to. You see, some very bad people trapped me in a void between worlds long ago. They were bullies and very mean and unfair to me. Imprisoning me for ages in this… this Beyond-Realm… Able to see and speak into the Material Plane, but never to experience it directly again…”

The girl refused to speak, so the being continued.

“Are you still scared, child? Would it help if you knew me better? My true name cannot be pronounced in any mortal tongue, but you may call me… the Beyonder. Catchy, isn’t it? What’s your name? Still nothing? Okay, I’ll use a nickname for you as well. I’ll call you the Cosmic Traveler, since you hop across worlds. See? We’re friends now, right?”

America maintained her silence.

“I’m pouring my heart out here, at least say hello!” the entity was becoming agitated and impatient. “Maybe it would help if we could speak face to face! You know, I bet if you tried really hard, you could open a portal to me here in the Beyond-Realm! Then I can join you there in the Material Plane and we can be real friends! What do you say?”

There it is, the girl thought to herself. He wants to use me to free himself from his prison. He was probably put there for a good reason. I gotta get out of here!

Clenching a fist to keep the ring firmly on her finger, America got up and started running through the dead trees. She immediately felt the entity chase after her.

“Where are you going?!” he cried out angrily. “Don’t leave yet! Please, release me! It’s so sad and lonely here! Please set me free!”

The Beyonder came to a stop above a rapidly shrinking Star Portal, through which he could see an invisible person moving through tall grass on another Earth. He tried to dive for the opening, but it closed before he could get to it.

“AAARRGGHHHHH!!!” he screamed in utter frustration. “I will find you, Cosmic Traveler! I will find a way to rip open this scar left behind from your portal! One day your power will belong to me!!!”

PRESENT DAY

A now-adult America was enjoying a morning coffee on the patio of a small diner in the metropolitan center of the planet Xandar. Once learning to control her powers, she had expanded her exploits beyond just alternate Earths, visiting many different worlds over the years.

“What’s going on?” she asked a patron at the next table as everyone began to panic looking at their personal holopads.

“The Nova Corps broadcasted an emergency alert. Apparently an unidentified ship has appeared in orbit,” the woman explained. Just then, a group of seven-foot-tall Stark-Tech Sentinels teleported down into the middle of a nearby park.

“This Traveler Scar is fresh!” one of them claimed in a mechanized voice as it scanned the area. America realized they were standing right near where her portal had opened just an hour prior. “The Cosmic Traveler must be close! Capture everyone within a one mile radius! Mark anyone within the designated age-group as a Traveler Candidate and send them to the Inquisitor! Send everyone else to Battleworld!”

Suddenly, hordes of additional Sentinels began teleporting down, accompanied by hover platforms carrying cryogenic stasis pods. They began restraining people and placing them in the pods, and the local police force responded swiftly.

“Shit!” America cursed as she jumped to her feet. People were screaming and running chaotically in every direction as the Sentinels were chasing people down and snatching them up. That name they used… The Cosmic Traveler... she thought to herself, then gasped as she remembered that encounter a decade prior. The Beyonder must have set himself free somehow and is looking for me!

As one of the robots came barreling in her direction, she almost slipped on her ring again to hide, but then she dropped it back into her pocket. No, I won’t run from this. He doesn’t know what I look like, so maybe I can get close enough to banish him back to his prison…

Turning back towards the Sentinels, she walked forward and allowed them to capture her. Soon she was placed into one of the cryopods, and everything faded to black…

Elsewhere in the Multiverse, similar incursions were occurring anywhere there was a Traveler Scar. Teddy Altman had been enjoying his eighteenth birthday party on Clearwater Beach when the Sentinels teleported down onto the sand and began capturing people.

“Let them go!” he screamed as he powered up and dove at one of the robots. Despite his strength, he couldn’t even dent their metallic exterior. He unleashed a flurry of punches, but the Sentinel was unaffected. It was then he realized his stamina was draining fast. Crap! They must have local power dampeners built into their bodies! I gotta hit them from a distance!

Turning and running the other direction, Teddy leapt into the sky and flew up sharply before turning around and preparing a massive energy blast between his palms. But before he could release it, the Sentinel he was aiming for fired up its own blast, causing Teddy’s to explode in his face.

The teen crashed back down onto the sand, and before he could catch his bearings, he was being shoved into a cryopod…

On yet another Earth, Loki Laufeyson was sipping a cocktail as he relaxed on the beaches of Ibiza, Spain. He lifted his sunglasses and looked down the shoreline as he heard a commotion, and noticed the Sentinels capturing people.

“Well, shit…” he groaned and sighed. He took a deep breath and then jumped to his feet, tossing his sunglasses on the ground. With a flick of his hand, the Bag of Holding sitting next to his beach chair flipped open and his scepter floated up into his grasp. He magically extended it to the length of a quarterstaff, summoned an ice spear in the other hand, and ran towards the robots.

“Bloody hell!” he cried out as he, same as everyone else who faced the Sentinels, got his ass thoroughly handed to him. He struggled as they restrained him and dragged him towards a cryopod. “Piss off you damn metal wankers! Oi! Are you listening to me? I bet your mother was a toaster, and a broken one at that! Let go of me! Release me straight away! Are you really that daft? Arrgh! Choke on rat dung you damn bloody sods!” He managed to swipe his things and cloak them before he was placed in stasis as well…

I see my apologies, I have changed it so she has woken up only recently. Or if you like she can wake up later on in the RP and be introduced to the others?

Either one is fine. If you want to have her from the start, we can go with what I had suggested in the other thread, and say that while her pod was found at the same time as the other Kryptonians, the malfunction in her cryogenic stasis system was far worse and it took a few years before it was safe to awaken her. You could say now she's been awake for a few months and has been training with Clark, Conner, and Jon. To help you find a way to introduce her in the IC thread, you could say she was flying to the Hall with Conner and Jon but got distracted by something and said she'd be there in a bit and they continued on without her. That would explain why she enters the scene a little after them. Like, because she's still new to observing Earth, maybe she saw a cool garden with pretty flowers on the way and wanted to stop and smell them or something.

While Rao didn't technically go supernova, that's fine, I'm not gonna harp on it. Though I did want to ask - you mentioned her waking up at the same time as the other Kryptonians, which means she has now been awake for at least several years since those pods were found in the cleanup after the Reach invasion, which was in the early days of the Justice League. I never gave an exact date for the Reach Invasion's end, but it started ten years ago, which is what caused the League to first form. I kept it vague to allow more freedom in character creation and backstories, but even if the invasion and subsequent war lasted for three years, that still means Kara woke up seven years ago. Is that what you were intending?

Oh, and for anyone curious, here is the database I had created waaaaaay back in 2005 for the very first Teen Titans RP I had ever done. This only shows the characters who joined during the initial story arc, but we eventually went on to have like 14 Titans on the team or something. It's a shame I stopped updating this site once the RP really took off, but it's still fun to go back and look at it XD.

I realize I forgot to directly specify in the opening post, but for anyone wondering, your characters should indeed show up in their superhero attire unless they were planning to attend as their civilian identities. I introduced all my characters using their hero alias instead of real names in the intro post, but I never actually said they were wearing their super suits. My bad, lol.

@Eviledd1984 Looks good, but as mentioned in the initial interest post, Kryptonite in this continuity was engineered by the Apokkians. They also caused the sun Rao to expand into a red giant and then explode, which also destroyed Krypton and shattered the planet.
