I thought we wouldn't be taking stats so seriously, kinda like in the anime a statistically weaker pokemon (like pichu) can win in a fight against a stronger one (i.e. scyther). I say this because I think that frankly, it's more interesting if we are allowed creativity in the battle and it isnt just "use flamethrower" and "use rest". Makes it feel more realistic too if we aren't only after stats.

If this is going to be a game of stats where we should only try to pick the most competitively reasonable pokemon (you know, not farfetch'd or say, dunsparce), I might have to reconsider joining. I much prefer things following a more cinematic line, if you will (while also staying true to movepools etc. of course)

Yeah that's what I thought! I know Ho-Oh isn't the sun legendary but rather the protector of the skies but I feel like that can be twisted a bit because of the fire-type and rayquaza taking a similar role

Edit: discord is fine by me

I'm not going to give any limit to what the starter Pokémon could be beside it not being a fully evolved or OP pokemon, although perhaps I'll add a thing where the Reincarnations can only use Pokémon corresponding with the typing their Legendary is. For example, a Palkia-Reincarnation would only use Water and/or Dragon Pokémon. This is still to be discussed though, as I like to have the other players help shape the plot as well so I'm gonna give you guys a lot of input.

Also, I'll probably allow more than a single Pokémon as the starting teams, but give them a limit, like 3 Non-evolved Pokémon or 2 Non-evolved and 1 evolution Pokémon that evolved once.

I already have something of an ideal team planned out for Ho Oh Reincarnation, and I did all the planning based on what I feel like most would fit the theme. However I did vary a little just because having type balancing makes things more interesting. And obviously I wouldn't be starting out with the full team, I just know what pokemon I want on my Ho Oh reincarnation's team as the story progresses.
I'll adapt if the rule is that you cant use types outside of your legendary's typing, though!
Hesitant reservation for Ho-Oh

Toshi looked at the source of the comment, mortified. Letting the shivering Skip go - no damage had been done, fortunately - Toshi turned around and gave a sad laugh.
"Uh... you saw that? Wow, that's embarrassing," Toshi admitted, a sheepish smile tugging at his lips. "But yes, she does like disobeying my commands..." Toshi continued, shaking his head and looking back at the Mantine who was flapping in the fountain. Toshi sighed, picking the Dunsparce, Toto, up from the ground and walking over to the ranger.
"I've thought of using reverse psychology on her to get her to use the right moves, but I'm afraid she's too smart to fall for something like that," Toshi explained with a laughter. "I'm Toshi. I'm on a vacation here to train for contests. This fella here is Toto - Who might you be?" Toshi introduced himself and the already sleeping shiny Dunsparce on his shoulder. Giving the snake pokemon a gentle pet on the head, Toshi turned to face the trainer who had happened to see his spectacular failure.

Lorie, who was looking anywhere except at Sarah, involuntarily glanced back as soon as the woman reassured her about the pokedex issue. Staying quiet and nodding, Lorie didn't know what to say. Would thank you be acceptable? She didn't really do thank you's.
"Cool," the girl mustered in return, tone awkward but sincere.
Lorie really didn't need a travelling companion, though. She had Sneasel and Scolipede - the trio had managed quite fine on their own for years on end. They were close, they were familiar and safe. No reason tagging along with a stranger.
Sneasel seemed to sense what Lorie was thinking, as it nuzzled its head against Lorie's leg forcefully, catching her attention. The Sneasel's red, cat-like eyes were narrow with judgement. It knew what was going through Lorie's mind, and it was calling foul with just one sharp glance.
Lorie exhaled, feeling like a deflated drifbloom. Sneasel was right, they really only barely managed by themselves. That's why Lorie and Sneasel had to steal and thief around to keep fed. And in addition this woman knew where the lab was, so really, she was Lorie's best bet at getting one step closer to feeling like a real human being.
After this intense silence, Lorie only nodded, as if that would be enough of an answer. She'd tag along, sure.
"Sneasel Sneee," the Sneasel confirmed turning to Sarah and the Bulbasaur. It was odd seeing the ice/dark type pokemon so social, usually they stayed away from people and trusted no one. It seemed like Sneasel was either plotting something, or it genuinely saw something in this trainer and her pokemon.

Aava cast an unreadable look at Evren, but said nothing. She let him help her over the rail, although Aava's hair clung to some rusted parts of it, pulling her scalp.
"(No lake, no hair. This has to come off,)" Aava stated as she untangled the inpractical long locks from the rusty rail.
The quip of them all being monsters stuck with Aava like salt in a wound. If Evren said so, it must've been true. There was no changing for Aava, ever, was there?

Nessa scoffed.
"A woman walking alone on the street, being followed by a shady man? Do you live in a bubble? Of course I'm defensive and agitated. From what it looked like I was under the impression you were to sexually assault me," Vanessa explained, taking a step back. The man was making this a bit too easy for her.
Relieved that he seemed to leave her alone for now, Nessa made sure he was really walking off before hesitantly turning around and walking the opposite direction. She didn't feel safe now, not at all. Fuck, she just wanted to hide just in case.

Aava listened Evren explain his relationship with the shadow man as they walked. The whole time the näkki's expression was sour, unchanging. Maybe now she was even a little angry at Evren himself. It felt very familiar, to have Evren remembering the past through rose coloured glasses. No matter what had happened in her friend's past, Aava was hurt by the recent events and her protectiveness over her friend was stronger than any love on this earth.
"(I was wrong)," Aava admitted after Evren stopped talking.
"(You are blind after all.)"

That was all she said, words curt, tone holding an air of disappointment.
"People change. Monsters stay the same," Aava quoted with a heavy Finnish accent. She didn't remember where she'd heard that, but it had been a long long time ago. Someone who spoke English. Maybe it was the figure who had trapped her oh so long ago.
In Aava's mind, she wasn't sure which was worse, however. People changing, or monsters - like her - never doing so. Because that's what she was, a monster. That's what the skeleton man had implied. Her friend had only put it into words.
If the shadow man was a monster too, he would never change, either. To Aava, he was a monster. But to Evren, the shadow man was a person. Person... People, they changed over time. But change, it didn't always mean changing for the better. That was the cruel truth of being a person.
Yayy!
Lol, Aava will not have any of Evren's bullshit xD Maybe they truly care for each other, but Aava's world is too black and white to see that. To her actions speak louder than words and stories of past
