_Origins

As was the case with so many other nations, China collapsed in on itself, its massive population not helping. The CCP attempted to enact martial law to keep order but it wasn't enough; a large portion of the PLA itself had lost faith in the government they were supposed to be serving and in turn often took the side of rioters. In 2033, the People's Republic of China was officially declared lost and a power vacuum that had occurred before in their history formed again.

However, this time it wasn't some political ideology which took hold, it was companies. Ironic considering that a nation that espoused communism would be taken over by capitalism. Gaoyu Corporation had its roots in real estate, owning land all over China but had since expanded into many other areas, most notable of Education, Adult and General Entertainment and Candy production and already found itself jockeying some power in Beijing before the fall. With the help of some insiders who sped up the process of the CCP collapsing while also securing Gaoyu's rise to power, the company rose to power within the same month that the CCP fell.

Under the guise of restoring order and livelihoods, Gaoyu found much support from a desperate populace, offering work in their offices and factories and new homes in massive living complexes. Unbeknownst to many, the Gaoyu Corporation had seen the writing on the wall at least a decade prior to the Great Collapse and had been preparing since. Hailed as saviors, the Corporation found itself but one of many in a new world were anyone with the resources and drive was claiming power. Over the course of decade, Gaoyu Corp claimed all of the Chinese seaboard as its own as well as several hundreds of inland territory and even several south eastern territories and spent the next six consolidating its power and eliminating any rivals in their new territory.

Now the megacorporation controls perhaps the largest amount of bodies in the world and exploits such an advantage boasting massive production capability and a well organized, efficient administrative bureaucracy. However they expend much of their energy in simply keep their population sated and in line by the most basic needs, emphasis on most basic. The Corporation has indirect control of their populance lives, controlling what they eat, learn and watch, taking the Roman proverb "Bread and Circus" to new (if not terrifying) levels. Their CEO Hu Zhaori is a third generation CEO who took over when his father stepped dow.

_{Company Culture}

The Gauyo Corporation loves to boast on its population and order and often make remarks on their excellent organization and administrative abilities and how they have plentiful manpower. To its people, many saw the corporation as a saving grace that had brought order and stability in the aftermath of the chaotic rioting and help guide them every day. Gauyo claims that it is because of a "very involved and detailed course of action" in which that they assist the people of their lands. Of course there are dissenters, but they don't usually complain for too long.

They expect that their people and thus their employees to be friendly but hardworking and ever loyal and listening to their superiors. The concept of a "Greater Good" is what is espoused by the new Gauyon textbooks and even on various advertisement billboards which all should work towards.

In reality, the Gauyo excerise a huge amount of control over its employees (aka the entire population), controlling where they live, what they eat and even how they think thanks to their control over entertainment and education, already having raised about 2 generations under their careful eye. They know they have a massive population and are more than willing to exploit it by putting them in factories with questionable conditions and conscripting them into the security force as "supplemental units" knowing that there's always going to be more people willing to work.

_{Security Detail}

The strong arm of the Gaoyu Corporation comes in the form of its Red Dragon Security and Defense Force (SDF), comprised of mostly old PLA soldiers turned mercenaries now firmly under the employment of the Gaoyu Corporation. Although its decently equipped, its main strength is in its numbers which allows for the garrisoning and patrolling of almost the entire state. Its already large further augmented by additional militia forces, the People's Guard; numbers are used to offset the less advanced drones and other advanced weaponry in use.

_Leadership

The Gaoyu Corporation is lead directly by the CEO, one Mr. Hu Zhaori, who rules with effectively unlimited power with a council of friends and allies at his side. It was Zhaori's father who had disbanded the Board of Directors by force after he had his personal guard plant a bomb at one of their board meetings, centralizing power. As of right now, the rule of the Hu Dynasty on the throne of the company can be seen as a monarchy with blood succession laws.

_History

Like so many other leaders of the new world, Zhaori was groomed from the start of his life to become the heir of the Gaoyu Corporation. Being sent to a private school only for the new elite, owned by his father's company and tutored private as well, Zhaori was literally the Prince of the academy. This would develop into his traits of pragmatism and indulgence. He would get a degree in Business Management and take over a spot under his father.

When his father had a stroke at age 69, Zhaori was put in power by his father so that he may live out the rest of his days in peace. With little fail, Zhaori's father died two years later to the day of a second stroke in an event grieved by everyone in Gaoyu lands (enforced mourning it was but still the same). The new heir pledged to take his father's work to greater heights and waged war for parts of south east Asia as well as increase connections with the Oceanians.

_Personality

Zhaohi is a ruthlessly pragmatic individual who follows in his family's footsteps of ruling with an iron hand. His general public appearance is one of a hard but caring leader who is part of the family who brought China to peace; some would even call him the "Emperor" in reference to the monarchs of olden times, not helped by the man's fancy towards more traditional Chinese styles of decoration which can be seen in his office and penthouse, even the work spaces of some of the lower leveled employees have signs of this stylistic influence with synthetic rice paper cubical dividers and lantern covers for hanging lights.

To those who he is close to know that he's a dependable and loyal friend if not overly blunt and honest about his views on work, people and things in general. He's also known to be indulgent and reveals in parties and gatherings, bringing in expensive and exotic food and wine and "entertainment". Of course, he always has a motive for what he does and in the case of parties is to network and connect with others although its rumored he also has more sinister intentions on occasion but they haven't been proven. Still, the fact that a disloyal subsidiary head suddenly fell ill and died the day after one of Zhaohis' parties is just a bit unnerving.

The man also knows his power and is more than willing to show it off, he knows that he has the largest security force in the world (just don't question him on the equipment and technology of it). Of course, his hands are also somewhat tied as he has to focus on keeping his population under control and satisfied. Despite his purely pragmatic motives of not wanting to have people die off uselessly in droves or riot, this has had an interesting effect of boosting his overall public image as someone whose caring (ironic right?)

_Relations

Zhaohi is married to one Mei Shenqi and has three children, two sons and a middle daughter, and expecting another one. Its also fairly well known that Zhaohi is known to see people purely on a cardinal basis of course, none of that would ever be made public and the names of said persons are closely guarded.

Nepotism is not uncommon and Zhaohi has appointed his uncles/aunts, cousins and close friends to high positions to ensure that said positions run smoothly and so he can keep an eye on them. Some of his siblings are also the ones in charge of Gauyo Corporation's subsidiary groups.

_{Society has changed.}

It all began in the early 2000s when the stock markets crashed and global inflation ran wild, heralding the "Great Collapse". Unemployment skyrocketed to over 80% world wide as common goods were out of reach for all but the wealthiest of individuals and crime skyrocketed. People waited in bread lines for hours and shelters had reservation lists with many dozens if not hundreds waiting. The number of homeless rose dramatically as the streets became clogged with desperate people begging and whoring themselves out just for scraps of food or money. Protests in the streets turned into violent riots as governments found themselves unable to run as society descended into chaos and nations big and small collapsed on themselves.

In the power vacuum left behind in the Great Collapse, corporations found themselves free of the regulations which bound them and quickly took the place of governments as de facto leaderships as they grew into massive, powerful, multinational megacorporations with no one to oppose them but each other. Some simply use the name of old nations as a front and play games with government and democracy while others feel no need to hide behind dead husks. Some have christened the rise of these megacorporation-nations as "the return of order and the apex goal of the free-market", others have called this new era the rise of "Capitalism Incarnate" and do not believe that any good can come from those who care only for their bottom line. Regardless, the one point everyone agrees on is that megacorporations run things very, very differently than former governments.

_{Welcome to a new age.}

Welcome to INCORPORATED, a RP that takes cues from the show of the same name and various other similar media like Bioshock, 1984 and 3%. This RP will be revolving around business or more specifically, megacorporations if you couldn't tell. If you're looking at this and thinking "Wait, a business-based RP? That means number crunching doesn't?" I am going to tell you that will not be the case; this RP will be freeform with some simple traits, I don't expect nor want you to figure at what price to sell product X to get Y percent profits while taking into account tax rate Z. Which means on the flip side, if you wanted to number crunch or you actually know business/economics and are very serious about it, I'm sorry but this RP might not for you. If you are also a very, very hardline believer in that the free market is the best thing ever, well you might get triggered by this RP.

The overall feel for this RP would be something of futuristic dystopian setting. Players would be attempting to expand their influence and increase their profits and me as the GM would be sprinkling in some events. Maybe one industry is doing well or maybe some event has caused an increase in the demand in one type or good or one university seems to be putting out high quality peoples or there's stock market fuckery. You can do anything to try and get an edge (so long you run your devious scheme by me first) but consequentially you must be willing to get played as well; no risk, no reward. (Although there are ways you can keep playing even if you go under or get assimilated into another company like trying to find a way to break free).

One major difference I would like to point is that while this will be based on NRPs, it will not strictly follow NRP guidelines. First off, its obviously more character-based as most of the action will be done through CEO/leaders and their group of helpers, secretaries, mistresses, researchers, and managers and whatever other employees you can think of, even can have posts form the view of a normal pencil pusher who don't know jackshit of what going on up top. Second, there will be less a focus on military strength and more on influence and guile as having your "security force" storm a city isn't good PR. Third, you're playing a company not a government, your priorities should be making money and using said money for whatever the hell you want (so yes, expect mature/dark themes in this shitck) since who said business couldn't include fun and games; the only rules that are left are the ones you make and enforce yourself and ethical morals tend to get in the way of profits. That said, you could try and be a saint, just remember that you are first and foremost a business, not a charity.

Technology & Space

The technological landscape is more advance than today but hasn't truly reached sci-fi levels, perhaps the best baseline would be that of Black Ops 2 or Advanced Warfare; there's drones and smart robots and stuff but no real smart AI or other funky stuff like that. Laser weapons are real but they're more like expensive special weapons and stuff like exo-suits are just beginning to pick up steam amongst those who can afford to research them.

In terms of space, the Kessler Syndrome has come into affect meaning that all of the satellites and shit in high orbit? All of that is fucked after some space fuckery and satellite overpopulation accidents which as left space travel and thus space colonization. Things like GPS and communications though are still okay however and its affects are not noticeable on the ground. Anyone who wants to go to space will ether have to find away to remove the debris belt around earth or protect their ships from all the new flying crap.

"Iz not ya boss, ya zoggin' grot! Wait... akkualy, yes! Iz iz ya boss so listen ta me 'umie!" the ork bellowed as he stamped about, flailing his mechanical body as Maya preformed some excellent gymnastics on his large body, "N mahz not Pickles fo da last time! Gerrroff me!"

There was however, a certain fondless in the way the girl said how he was her big boss that rang in Worogoro's head. Not beacuse of how she said it but the fact she said it at all as all orks have the desire to become the biggest, greenest, meanest warboss. 'Bout time I got meself sun respek 'ere. Worogoro thought to himself as he attempted to shake the girl off as she hunted down his stake. In a desperate attempt to save the meat, the ork threw it at (literally) his pet squid who was sent back as the chunk of meat hit him in the face, "RUN MY SQUIG, RUN!"

Shaking the stars (and possible concussion) it had out of its head, the squig grabbed the meat and ran upstairs. It kept running up and up until it found its way into the office of big boss Phillips. In the mean while, its owner was still wrestling with the monkey attached to him. Worogoro shouted another great roar of anger as he shook the girl, once again shaking the building through sound waves alone.

Wretching the child off with his other hand, the ork threw her back into her padded room and went in, closing the door behind him (some how even though it physically wouldn't work under normal laws of logic) before he stomped ardoun the room in circles around the girl, never breaking eye contact, "I likez ya, rioght feisty 'un ya arr. Ya seem da most willin' to fioght so lemme make ya an offa; woo eva krumpz da otha first winz."
