Sorry for my absence! A Volunteering position suddenly turned into a Volunteer Leadership position I was not expecting at all so things have been hectic.

Look at you posers, having to bang dragons or sell your soul for magic when you could just play a lute for some. Anyways, here's Wonderwall. - Bards

@DX3214 Awesome! Any character ideas?
I'd have a tendency for the Neo-Norsemen, but maybe if these exist there are reincarnations of other, more southern European cultures as well like, for example, Cherusci, Vandals or other tribes that were around roughly the same time the Romans were.

Those reincarnations wouldn't exist, AtE works on cultures and more friendly stereotypes. The Neo Norse are a thing because they're more in the popular imagination plus their location in the mod stems from the Scandinavian immigrant population irl in the area.
@Fetzen Yeah you don't have to be American to make a character for this! There are some European reference (and non-American in general) from the OG mod but we can also make stuff up, got any initial ideas?
@Byrd Man @DX3214 @Fetzen Thanks for liking the post! Should I mark that down as proper interest?

Regardless, here is some character creation stuff in general. I don't have any strict skeleton to follow (but have included a pre-made fancier format for those interested), I only have requirements for what must be on your CS. Characters should be more grounded than full on parody. If you have any more questions let me know!

Sort of based on another one of my attempts at RP under a similar name, this however is different. Instead of it being a Game of Thrones-like NRP, I'm looking for a much smaller scale, more tightly run roleplay akin to what you might find in D&D. This takes heavily from the Crusader Kings mod "After the End" although things might not be exactly 1 to 1.

The premise is straightforward: You an a bunch of other random psychopaths adventurers and explorers from all across a post-event America have gathered to go into an old world ruin for gold, glory and god/s fighting off raiders, bandits, wild animals, monster and whatever else comes out of the darkness of antiquity.

Filling in some more background, despite it being several hundred years or more after an apocalypses, things are still very much feudal-ish and medieval. Guns don't exist as actual weapons but are still known to the nobility and more educated, often used in part of house sigils or as metaphors for power. However things aren't like Fallout New Vegas Legion football armor, society has redeveloped and has moved away from only scrap metal armor and car bumper swords. There is actual armor and weapons made by professional smiths but they still do take inspiration from old world stuff with things like:

- Baseball bat warclubs
- Plate armor that looks like football gear
- Metal helmets that have face grills
- Polearms shaped like hockey sticks
- Patted cloth armor that resembles bomber or leather jackets
- Rounded shields with WW2 US white stars on them

If you're from the US (or even Canada/Mexico) I encourage you to rep some hometown pride and make a character from that area (pretty common thing to do in the aforementioned mod). If you're curious about what's actually in each part of the country I encourage you to look at the wiki and mod itself, but I'll list some example character ideas based on the mod.

- A honorable Southron Knight from the Holy Columbian Confederacy (An HRE stand-in, the "Knights of the South" is a big thing)
- A slightly unhinged Appalachian Mountain Man (Snake charmers gone wild!)
- A spooky cultist warrior from New England (They have a very Lovecraftian/Eldritch religion)
- A stalwart Continental Guard from Virginia/Maryland (They worship the Founding Fathers and American Mythos as a religion)
- An independent Texan ranger (Also originally part of the religion mentioned above, they're getting a new "Exceptionalism" religion)
- An educated sage from California (A sort of Byzantium/China stand-in with a bureaucratic government and strong education system)
- A sturdy war smith from the Great Lakes (Who follow a "rust cult" and take industrialism as a religion and love old world salvage.)
- An adventurous Neo-Norseman from the Great Lakes (Marvel and Skyrim references included)
- A Caribbean Machetiro or Cajun War Dancer (Swift and Stylish!)
- A very lost Canadian Mountie Knight or Mexican Neo-Aztec Eagle Warrior

There's honestly a lot more from the mod itself, if you're interested in whats going on in your part of the woods I can boot up the game and take a look. BUT DON'T SEE THIS AS A REQUIREMENT! You can make whatever you want, especially if your character is from your own area and you want to take things in a different direction. I'm not to concerned about the wider lore of the Americas at this point since again, I'm planning for a pretty limited scope RP with a clear start and end.

If you're interested throw down what you'd like to play below! If there's enough interest I'll work on a proper CS and OOC later. Not aiming for too big of a party though since I am planning on taking a purely GM role where I don't have a singular GMPC like traditional D&D or TRPGs.
Feeling like doing a reboot of things of various old-ness that all seem pretty post apoc

- Something Mad Max-like, either as singular cars/drivers or as clans with some creation tables
- Something like Redwall but post apoc in a mall based on a really old NRP
- A Game of Thrones-like RP I did but set in a post apoc America and based on the CK2 After the End mod (or something GoT-like overall)
- Something to do with Walmart Apocalypse or maybe the Infinite IKEA because that's always a bag of memes
@RHODESIANRLIYou have not listed out what kinds of countries, groups or organizations people can play and have failed to provide any sort of Nation Sheet guide for people to use; the jump-in style is not recommended for NRPs because NRPs tend to have a lot more moving parts and OOC information that can't be provided with a name, flag and picture.

You have not given any interesting story conflict or global event outside of "my white supremacist fantasy nation exists" and "fight communism" which lets be realistic, I doubt anyone playing any sort of communist would be allowed to even win anything and instead just spontaneously explode in the prescience of glorious Rhodesian supersoldiers democracy and freedom and capitalism. And of course its already a given that you would be the one playing as Rhodesia.

You have not made anything interesting with the concept of a pretty shitty IRL nation outside of glorifying it to satiate your own alt-history boner; people have made plenty of "What if the Nazis won" games and stories without this level of mockery because they're actually interesting and not meant to jack off wehraboos with poorly disguised "analysis" that serves more as praise than critique.

You have not created an alt-history NRP prompt, you have created an alt-history fantasy where your idealized, unrealistic version of Rhodesia becomes the super based, badass chad African nation by ignoring all of the issues it had, pretending racism doesn't exist to the point where it would affect Rhodesia and otherwise glossing over societal issues in favor of an imaginary, self serving, self indulgent narrative that exists only to let you alone live out your questionable view points while hoping everyone else gets dragged along as side characters in the story of Super Rhodeisa.

None of what you have provided says "I am someone interested in roleplaying this alt history scenario" and all of it screams "hey look at my totally original OC alt history, isn't it so cool and based and don't you want to read more about it?" like an edgy teenager trying to own libs and prove that he isn't an NPC with his own superficial historical hot takes.
Here is some character creation information. At the start of the RP, all of your characters will have been arrested but intercepted during transport. Thus the CS layout is meant to mimic a police record. It should be written as impersonally as possible for greatest effect.

Example:

@Dark Cloud Becuase 40k runs on neo-medievalism, Guilds sometimes take the place of companies and corporations (although those still exist.) Think of them as the Water Company and the Natural Gas company but as mega-corps. Promethium is a fuel source that can be used domestically for heating and lighting but is primarily used to violate the Geneva Convention as fuel for flame throwers. Think of it as super space napalm.

They're not unique to Kordial and can be found just about anywhere there's a hive world.
Works well for me. I tend to like the mercenary sort anyway. Wee lil' man with a cigar and a Long Las. Trotting along on his wee lil legs shooting things and trying not to get shot. Maybe pair him with an Adeptus Arbites or two, or if that's too much some Underhive Gangers.

No on the Arbites since this is definitely illegal (as is just about everything short of breathing in the Underhive but even that's up for debate), but if you want to have a Ratling tall tale of you know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy whose an Arbite, sure.

I'm thinking more along the lines of a bail bond agent or a debt collector. Or just your regular street goon, the type to shakedown people or kick their ass. Although now that I think about it all three sound the same.

I would say best bet is that you either work for a gang or one of the shady fellows who work for like the Water or Promethium Guild. Shanking people if they don't pay their utilities bill. Being in a gang is no guarantee of safety, but its still marginally better than being alone.
