Dyna City.

A busy Neo-American city filled with the nation's brightest.

Among it's many institutions lay Wing Zero Academy.

The first semester of the new school year has just begun. Student housing is grouped together not far from campus - most of the dorms and group housing is within walking distance to the main building of the school. The first day of school has ended, and you head back to your dorm after a pretty straightforward day of going over the years syllabus, and meeting up with some old friends you may not have seen in a while (or perhaps some folks you would have hoped to avoid.) You have the weekend ahead of you before the semester starts proper. Housing assignments had been assigned, and most everyone is already moved in. Almost.

The precipe of the new year stands before the students of Wing Zero, especially daunting to our seniors. With the launch of The Persephone - the first livable space environment just outside of earth's orbit soon opening to the public for living, the options for the future have become far more vast than ever before. Civilians have been able to visit and see it's dazzling arrays, but excitement is at a fever pitch. Numerous celebrations are set to take place there over the next few months leading up to it's official opening - including a Martial Arts Tournament, a Music Festival (the first of it's kind in space!) and the highly anticipated Inaugural Persephone Grand Prix which will feature some of racing's top competitors, including the legendary Lance Price.

But that comes later. After the lives of a few of Wing Zero's students are completely upended. In fact, right now, streaking across the sky comes their destiny. Trailing danger, risk, and possible death - the fate of this world will soon rest on the shoulders of a small group of youths - each struggling with their own lives - soon to be thrust into a world of heroes and villains, and an enemy so dangerous that the stars dare not to shine in it's presence....

But as we head into Dyna City, we get a glimpse of these soon to be heroes. One of them finally at peace with himself, only to be thrown into this new challenge. Another is a studious type - not knowing he's been on a collision course with his dreams since he was a kid - but not in the way he'd expect. And the other...well - all in due time.

As long as you folks are cool with it, I'll play the opening a little close to the chest for now! I appreciate you guys jumping in without 100% certainty which ranger you may end up as, or what your team's theme might be - so thanks for being patient. I think it will kinda be cool to discover things as you go along, not unlike a dungeons and dragons campaign.

It'll be Tuesday before I can post, if I can't get in on the opening, I'm cool with sticking around and waiting until you can fit me in.

We will start at Wing Zero Academy - a school at the heart of the city, teaching their students all manner of education and development. Currently, the ongoing construction of Station 51 - also known as "persephone" where humans can move off-world. With the time for space travel imminent, Wing Zero Academy teaches its youth all manner of knowledge around astro-exploration, in addition to standard school curriculum. Wing Zero Academy has a dormitory, and you'll be a student living on-campus.

At the start of the game, you'll be at a local shopping center, where a sudden strange occurrence completely upends your destiny: the crash-landing of an alien space ship.

Although I don't want to give too much away as to the nature of this discovery, the small group of you who recover the craft and discover what's inside will be gifted a strange new ability: with the ability to transform into Sentai - a group of heroes destined to save the world from interplanetary threats.

The game will be told episodically, but all in the main in-character threads. We'll continue to expand the roster as we grow! For now, let's get a sense of your character, and the direction their story might go.

My DM-Style involves communication directly with the players outside of the game thread - the example I give is that you may log in to a message from me that says "Your character is aware of the following secret...." and it's up to you how you would like to utilize or not utilize the information provided. You might also get a message along the lines of "your character is periodically starting to get these strange headaches." All of this will be to help move the story along or move into different avenues.

As for the Sentai themselves, I am working on the "theme" of the team. For example, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers were Dinosaurs, Some other team was ninjas, another was wild animals, I'm planning on doing something sort of similar. How I'll dictate colors and themes and weapons will happen through the course of the game. For now: let's get a sense of you guys!

Terrific!

With the 3 players we have now, we could genuinely get started, while still recruiting other players. The way the plot would begin has an element that allows for me to play the NPC's and jumpstart the proceedings.

While I put together the character sheets, do you guys have strong opinions on the timeline of this game? I may move it a little bit more forward into the future to allow for potential global expansion and galactic expansion but I don't want to make this a sci-fi specific type of dealing.

Sentai/Voltron Style Story

(This original pitch was over in Advanced, but I'm looking to cast a wide net and planning on bringing it to Casual Roleplay instead.)

I've been putting together a few ideas related to a Super Sentai/Voltron style story. I've got a few of the major plot beats put together but thought I'd see and gauge if there would be any interest beforehand.

The game itself would take place on modern day earth or maybe a somewhat future style earth, where a seismic event leads a small group of young adults to be chosen as Sentai, complete with color association and some other plot beats to tie it all together. A mentor figure would task them with protecting yadda yadda yadda.

Story would probably take us to some far out places.

If I'd only really need a small group at first, as I think it may be more interesting to pick up/recruit rangers/sentai in the future after spending time developing the first few people who had joined the game.

I'm a pretty hands-on GM, and my playstyle would be to consistently set up you guys with things to interact with, even if outside of the game. For example, In previous games I've private messaged a player to let them know a secret that only their character knew, with which the player can do with what they want.

Let me know if you guys would be down, and if so, what kind of stuff would interest you in this sort of story?
