I'm working on my CS, I have a concept, and now just trying to put it into words.

Personality:

Whirlwind is a laid-back, and well mannered man. He treats other well, and respectfully, yet is not intimidated by titles or social standing. He wears an almost ever-present smile, and it comes with unfailing good humor. But, beneath the good-natured exterior, lies a calculating, driven mind. He won't hesitate to do whatever he needs to to accomplish his goals.

"My past? Nothing special, really. Everyone has run into heartache and pain. That is part of living. Its how we grow and learn, and its what makes us appreciate what we have."

Brief History:

Whirlwind was born to a then powerful, wealthy, and influential family of mages, under the name Marcus Alexander Solidor. He was the eldest of many siblings, his father remarried three times, each wife died of various causes. Growing up...his life was surprisingly normal. Aside from the magic. He went to school, made mistakes, had a few crushes, ect.

His nickname "Whirlwind" is both a misnomer, and perfectly accurate. When he was a kid, he would love to run everywhere, and he would often make a mess doing so, causing his father to declare that he would come through like a tornado. As he grew up, he became much more mild, and laidback, making the name ironic, and something of a joke.

It was in his teens that everything fell apart. For several years, the once great House Solidor had slid into decline. They were nearly bankrupt, their allies had abandoned them, and they were out of options. Over during this time, Whirlwind's father had gone deeper and deeper into his research, soon becoming obsessed. He began to rave about "the answer", and mutter dark things to himself. He was convinced that their loss in fortune was the god's doing, and that they were using other mage clans as tools. He started delving into forbidden research, breaking nearly every rule set in place by mages, lusting after power. To that end, he started sacrificing his children in black rituals, and even forced Whirlwind to consume a Yggdrasil seed.

Eventually, Whirlwind couldn't take it anymore, and he used certain contacts to inform the mage's autorities what his father was up to. His father found out, and confrontated him, they argues, and his father tried to kill him. Hurt, and afraid, Whirlwind flead, discarding his name and his ties.

His father was soon catured, and executed. The name of House Solidor was blighted forever.

Since then, Whirlwind became an independent, making work where and how he can. Since them, he has done well for himself, in magical rearch and financially. As the time for Ragnarok came around, Whirlwind devised a plan. Ober several years, he built up the ruins of house Solidor, and entered Ragnarok, representing House Solidor.

His objective remain a mystery...

Magic:

In certain circles, Whirlwind is know by another epitet. Runemaster. Indeed, he has achieved great proficiency with runes, over a lifetime of practice. He is able to carve and activate many kinds of powerful runes.

The main way he eploys them is on small, square tiles, like Scrabble pieces, he keeps. The tiles are of widely diffent materials and each have a magic Rune carved on them. Their effects very greatly, from blasts of fire, to opening locks ,to healing. A simple force of will from Whirlwind is enough to active one, but they have one use only. After that, the tile shatters, and is rendered useless. Given time, he can make more.

Yggdrasil Seed:

Will of Creation: The seed's power allow Whirlwind to create solid constructs out of mana. What he creates is limited only by his imagination, and mana They can be animate, having a limited intelligence and able to follow simple commands, or inanimate. However, there are a few rules, the more mass of a construct, the more mana and time it will take to make. Similarly, the more complex it is, the more mana and time it will take to create it. The constructs he makes are temporary, lasting about an hour or two, he can extend this by infusing it with more mana Until they expire, the constructs have the normal properties of whatever they are made out of, and can be broken or shattered like normal. Animate constructs fuction similarly to living things, hit something vital, or do enough damage, and it will die.

"I want to create a ideal world, a world where our children, and grandchildren can live in peace, and prosperity. A world where tears are not shead, and people need not die.

At least, that was what I wished.

I know now that such a world is an impossibility. Time has seen to teaching me that lesson, over and over again.

But even so, I will, with my own two hands, create a better world. Even if perfection is a dream, improvement is not.

While that is my ultimate goal, it is not my current one.

To know the proper course, one must have the proper knowledge and most importantly of all, time..."


Other:

He runs on coffee.
His hobbies include running and playing guitar.
He carries a handgun on him, because who expects a mage to carry around a gun?!
He has trained in self-defence martal arts from a young age.
He recently has had training in marksmanship, and swordsmanship.
Unlike most mages, he embraces modern technology.

Cody was the one lectured, he is mostly standing by at a distance, he has said nothing.

As for the conversation, it went something like this:

He (Ferrin) grinned, and shouted at Nighogg. "Do I have your attention now?" He then turned to the kid who he had just saved twice, and fixed him with a yellow-eyed glare. "Kid, get the hell out of here. You are too weak to do shit, and I have better things to do then babysit the likes of you. I refuse to get killed protecting a weakling like you. Either fight, or go find a hole and hide." His lecture done, he turned and walked away. Did he mean what he said? Yes. Would he still kill himself trying? In a heartbeat.

"Who's attention are you trying to get? The magic council? Cause destroying buildings is the way to go then." Sora said as he walked over to Ferrin with his hands in his pant pockets and a casual demeanour about him. Sure everyone seemed to be in the middle of some huge showdown, but Sora didn't really care.

Ferrin glanced over at the sound of someone's voice to see an unassuming-looking brown haired man walking toward him.

Ferrin shook his head, and gestured with his arms as he spoke. "I almost wish it had. If they were here, maybe I would not have had to do that. But, alas, they seem as inefficient as always."

He kept a close watch on the building, just in case Nidhogg was ready for round two. "Call me Ferrin. What is your name?" He asked casually of the stranger.

Sora shrugged at Ferrin's response. Sora wasn't the magic councils fan, nor would they probably be his either, and he agreed that they were rather pathetic at their jobs. But this was a new low, even for the magic council.
Sora could see this fight happening from far off, so surely they wouldn't be too far off.
"Why are all governing bodies absolutely useless?" Sora didn't seem to be talking to Ferrin as he said this, more like he was speaking his mind. Glancing over at the fight happening behind of them he frowned slightly but turned back to Ferrin as he introduced himself.
"Ferrin huh? Well Ferrin, I'm Sora. I honestly don't know why someone of your strength bothered coming here. There isn't a single person of note to fight here." Sora yawned as he talked now. He could feel the immense magical power Ferrin had, as Ferrin could probably feel Sora's own immense magical power. Although Sora seemed bored, he wasn't.
He had found a powerful mage, perhaps one powerful enough to give him a challenge. But he seemed like he was preoccupied with whomever was in the rubble and he didn't like intruding on other peoples fights. It was kinda rude, even for him.
Besides he wouldn't want to fight Ferrin. Not in the city anyway, he didn't want to pay for damages or have the council baring down on him. Even if they were horrendous at their jobs they still weren't THAT bad at doing them.
