"Just throw your old gun on the desk here" Grayson said as he did the same with the laser pistol, then busied himself checking the readout screens on the nearest display cases, wondering if the Alliance might have provided something to suit their current need. As expected, there was nothing quite as simplistic as Maxi preferred, so he wandered over to the crates that his own collection was stored in, slid open the front panel and began to root around for the weapon.

They've upgraded from Lithio-Proton energy cell to a Thermo-Ionic, they last longer, and aren't prone to any leakage or drain-cycles. The thing about the TX Series is that rapid-fire built up too much heat, and there was nowhere for it to go. The TX-5 introduced this venting system on the heat-sink, and a gauge below the sights to monitor it. Weapon's overheating? Hold the vent release button here on the side and wait a few seconds.
