Hm... wouldn’t Tritons and Aarakocras be a very rare sight in this realm? The only reason Mirdas knows a bit about the Aarakocra is because they both share roles in fighting evil Elementals, as mentioned in their racial lore.
”See shells shee shells down by the sea shore! Nay, that can’t be right...”
Marching down the forest road in a bustling suit of chain and shells comes forth a strange, short individual, suited in armor. The first outlandish think about this man, aside from the seaworthy theme his arms and armor seem to follow, are his lower legs, bare and blue, with what looks like fins sticking out of them. This, along with the barbs lined on his face, show that he is no common resident of this place.
”She shells she shells down by the... no, no. She sells... sea... shells?” The blue man repeated, stroking one of his barbs thoughtfully. He seemed so confouded, so lost in thought by this mantra of sea shells and a woman selling them, that he didn’t notice the others on the road.
Until he heard the words “violence” and “robbery” exclaimed.
"Standeth thy did grind, brigands! Thee has’t cometh across a Guardian of the Flotes!” The fishy knight exclaimed as he drew his trident, raising his turtle shell shield while making his approach to the gathering, slowly. ”Who is't is the one being did attack?!”
The Guardian’s vigilant orange eyes surveyed the crowd, stopping on the Kenku. Curiously, he has never seen one of his kind before, only hearing stories of “bird-people” from the many stories he has heard.
”You! Bird sir! what art thee doing hence from the Plane of Air? Art thou eke on a quest to hunteth down the vile agents of Elemental Evil?” The blue-man raised a brow, his shield lowering slightly. He has heard of such bird sirs before as valiant heroes of their plane, though he has never seen one up close. Perhaps it is destiny that they meet on these crossroads....
The biting radiance continued to burn at Cesar’s health as he continued to the seat of the flame, being halted by the coming shadows. He wasn’t sure he was fast enough to get past them; not with his allies trying to hold back the Green Man’s wrath. Cesar prepared to steel himself, ready to fight through these Shadows and tear holes through them if he could, if only to make it to the other room and bring light to this place. Taking a deep breath, the bard prepared to charge...
"I'm with you, Cesar, let's do this!"
A familiar warmth filled the bard’s already burning body. He turned around to see one of his closest companions, Katia, by his side. Smiling brightly, Cesar had just realized the solution to his conundrum is right in front of him! If he gave her the flame, then she’d reach it faster than he ever could! All she needed was an opening...
”Please, Katia, deliver this flame to its seat! Do not worry too much what it means, for it will enlighten you on what you must do!” Cesar exclaimed, before placing a hand on the center of her chest. Not sure how exactly he is supposed to pass the flame on, he tried his best to will it to the Tabaxi, doing so until he felt the warmth of the flame leave his bosom...
Cesar gasped, feeling more in control of himself, once again. The Light leaving him made him feel... without, for a moment. He couldn’t explain exactly why. To Cesar, it feels like he lost a very important part of himself... but now, that part needs to make it to the other side of the crypt. Cesar knew that, and resigned himself to the duty of making sure that happens.
”... Right, now it’s time to play my part, huh?” Cesar mentioned, nodding to Katia before turninf back to the Shadows. Dropping his sword and flexing his fingers, Cesar marched towards the growing army of darkness. He needed some way to draw their attention and clear the path, and knowing how opportunistic they happened to be, Cesar needed to make himself a savory target...
”Alright, bastardos oscuros! You want a piece of me?!” Cesar exclaimed, with open arms, taking a quick shoulder glance back at Katia, giving her a nod. Hopefully she can accomplish this before he’s torn apart...
Cesar Illuminated HP: 20/27
Cesar takes an initial 5 Radiant Damage due to the effects of the sacred fire surrounding him.
The Bard uses his action to transfer the sacred light to Katia, entrusting on her the duties of the lightbearer, believing she is more capable of accomplishing this due to her speed.
After the torch has been passed, Cesar marched towards the Shadows, dropping his sword and taunting them to attack him, hoping this will give Katia an opening to dash in.
