Back when dinosaurs ruled the Earth, I got started with writing online on the Spore forums. Man, those were the days. We're talking like 12 years ago 2010-ish!

I've been here on and off for almost as long, and have GM'd a bunch of different things to varying success.

Word of my splendor:

@CycloneYou realize that almost 2/3rds of the territory you occupy is an inhospitable desert based on the geography map we have ?

I'm largely ignoring that map, except for the mountains. The Commonwealth has large regions of savanna and lush jungle (look at the Amazon rainforest; it's on the equator) as well as a few more moderate woodlands and such. But I didn't completely ignore that my nation is on the equator; their national symbol is the Moravian lion and a major ethnic group of the people are dark-skinned Machakans. The rest are the ancestors of people who came from the north or south in mass migrations or just colonized the region in a manner similar to how the Phoenecians founded the colony that would later become the empire of Carthage.

Edit: Actually, only the northeast corner of that part you marked is desert even on that map. The majority is highlands, which would fit nicely with my description of slightly more temperate woodland or savanna.
*phew*

I just finished off the entire Government and Economy tab for my nation, with a large amount of detail. The history is largely written but I still need to copy and paste it all from our history pad. I'll do that stuff sometime in the coming days; in the meantime, any thoughts on what I have so far?
<Snipped quote by Cyclone>Make it Führer or whatever is the equivalent of "Leader" or anything along those lines would be called in your language.
Albeit calling your lower ranks Imperator makes no sense, that's pretty much the original word for the Emperor.
If anything call your glorious leader as Imperator.
Unlike the word it birthed Imperator is pretty much the Latin equivalent of "director". Which would make sense for your leader, too.
He is no emperor, he's the Imperator! That's totally different!

You're wrong; an imperator was originally a Roman official. Usually a commander =P

Or at least that's how it was at first. You're right in that eventually it was for the emperor, but then it was for the emperor's family. In any case, calling them imperator both denotes their position of power over the military and symbolically calls them brothers to the ruler.

I think I will go with option d) all of the above and just give the guy a ton of titles.
@ClocktowerEchos

Shah you do seem to be going for a Persian theme or possibly even go all in and claim the title Shah an Shah (King of Kings or Sovereign of Sovereigns) your government does claim descent from the first great empire, though other may disprove of your claims.

Not really; I already did a really heavy Middle-Eastern theme for my nation in the previous RP.

Does Majordomo actually sound that strange though? Perhaps I'm overthinking it and should just go with that; Majordomo is a word that means something like a guide, leader, or patriarch of a house. Similar to what Hitler's title of Fuhrer meant in Germany.

I might just go with Caesar if it does sound too odd.
In slightly unrelated news, I'm wondering what would be a good title for the Commonwealth's leader. Majordomo makes sense, but then again it also just sounds odd

Maybe Archon? Perhaps even Kaiser, taking on the title of a monarch rather than a democratically elected leader?

In any case I think the lower level officials (governors) will be called Imperators.
@Willy Vereb

Willy, you complain about nations being too large and then a few days later you claim half the world -_-

I will remain with the Commonwealth having no colonies considering their history, though now I'm considering having those pockets between my nation and Yllendthyr and Zenovia being something akin to satellite states or just countries completely under the Commwealth's influence that are in the process of being peacefully/diplomatically annexed.

Why are all the islands next to me turning into other player's colors? I already claimed them? Why?!

Hard to fit seven BILLION people on just seven islands, huh?
Alright, the map was driving me nuts.

So I cleaned it up, and adjusted my claim a bit since I've yet to be accepted.

As a note, I found that part between Zenovia and the Commonwealth strange, maybe it's a nation currently being invaded? Maybe the little strip is a buffer zone between Zenovia and the Commonwealth?

Well you have it set up to where our botders aren't touching at all; I would have just filled in the really narrow strip of white and left the pocket by the sea.

@ZB1996 We could say it's an ally of yours, a satellite state of mine, a savage land full of dragons where people eat one another...

Well, stereotypical fantasy has dwarves living underground

We explained the seeming contradiction betwern your post and the others by saying that it's basically a normal village, just inside of a spacious cavern chamber.
