Back when dinosaurs ruled the Earth, I got started with writing online on the Spore forums. Man, those were the days. We're talking like 12 years ago 2010-ish!

I've been here on and off for almost as long, and have GM'd a bunch of different things to varying success.

I dislike dragon scales as they are. It implies that dragons are near invincible, and having a material arguably better than mithril (with being hard to craft arguably more of an advantage than a disadvantage; Vinculi would certainly know how to work it but other nations wouldn't) this just seems far too excessive.

The idea of giant dragons in general is one that I vehemently oppose as being too far into the realm of magic and absurdity, so making derivative materials and super-strong dragon scales only firther offputs me.
I still eagerly await a legendary elf-style opening post from @Willy Vereb. And a real post from Mihndar too, copy and pasting from the previous RP doesn't count
Add to that list that Ceres has submarine dreadnoughts, Avalia has air dreadnoughts, and Moravia has tanks and artillery so massive that you could call them land dreadnoughts. So a few nations have really big war machines.
@Cyclone If this is set in a 1940's setup, would an existing nation that arose from a colony long ago be feasible? I wanted to have a established history rather than be a modern colony. If that makes sense.

You could conceivably have a few centuries of history as a colony, yeah. Perhaps even more if you were one of Yllendthyr's colonies or former vassals, since I don't know how long the elves have been colonizing.

But also, don't discount the idea of having an established history with natives and then a shorter one with foreign colonists. It could be interesting to write about how the natives colonists reacted historically and how the different races treat one another today, or even have the colonists and natives merge into one culture sort of like with Mexico.
@Cyclone

I am happy to oblige. I am actually going to be rather ambitious and take the large white blob on the north part of the middle continent. I'll have the 'Sacred Empire' and two others bordering me. Sadly the coloring on the nations and the thin coloring of the nation names at the top of the map is making it rather difficult to pair them together, especially the lighter blue colors. Fear not with me though, I will be using bright pink as its not yet been used and it stands out like a sore thumb!

But the light blue Ventium or Yllendthyr and the northern neighbor is Verendes (most likely.)

Hopefully that huge place hasn't been claimed and/or planned for yet.

That place is still wide open!

Just FYI, that continent is basically Africa/the Americas; it's where all the colonial powers have been grabbing land. So you could either be a nation of natives, or a colony like the USA that broke away from one of the other nations that are/were colonial powers.
@Serpentine88 After reading a few other NS's I got that impression. I mean, griffon riders. :D

Regardless, I was merely curious. No F-22's for me. :(

I'm already excited to start writing and I have no NS up yet. Amazing what excitement can do eh?

It'll be good to have you! We've almost filled up the entire map.

Speaking of which, I'd like to point out two things. One is directed at you, Combo move: that empty spot of land between Moravia in red and Yllendthyr in blue is involved in some plans (it's going to be invaded), so I'd ask that you not claim that spot.

The other thing, which is directed towards everyone, is that Hael hasn't been online in 11 days. :/ I'm friends with Hael and all, but with more and more new people wanting to join and the space nearly gone, we might want to consider eventually wiping his nation off the map to make room for others if he doesn't show up.
I've been working on a really detailed map with highways, railroads, and major cities of Moravia. Right now I'm more concerned about getting my military done though, since apparently a few people will base parts of theirs off mine.

*can't speak because mouth is full of food*

I'll be there in a few minutes!
@ZB1996

I'm not sure if this was an intentional inaccuracy in Zenovia due to a lack of information (there probably would be only mere tidbits of information, if anything, about the mass execution that took place) but the mass execution wasn't in Moravia's capital.

It was in Staban, a gritty, industrialized, slum-filled city in Qualia, over in the heartlands of Moravia. The Moravian capital is further west where the Old Moravian Empire was based, and is somewhat like Rome. Beautiful city with big marble buildings, museums and art galleries, no signs of poverty or crime to be seen, and tourists.

It might have been confusing because with almost every time I flashed away from Thaurissan's point of view it was in a different place, but the point of that post was to point out the hypocrisy of Thaurissan and Moravia in general, and illustrate in just how many ways the nation has two faces. He speaks of liberty and how they are in a golden age, and meanwhile conditions are still horrific in some places. He calls the Kataylans cowards and criticized their morals for using Fyrurock, but Moravia has a history of using chemical warfare. There is even parallelism with the very way that Staban was described, with the inner city being a labyrinth of slums and factories why the outskirts have huge skyscrapers and luxury apartments for the rich.

But on a side note, I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but I love all of your posts ZB. Something about them just connects with me; I feel like I'm reading a novel and I feel a primal rage at how I only get to read one or two posts' worth of this novel per week
Alright Willy has brought be back in so I'll finish up my nation's post if it's still okayed

I don't think you ever told us anything about your nation besides where your claim was.
