Back when dinosaurs ruled the Earth, I got started with writing online on the Spore forums. Man, those were the days. We're talking like 12 years ago 2010-ish!

I've been here on and off for almost as long, and have GM'd a bunch of different things to varying success.

Word of my splendor:

Well, now Torrens and D'artagne are in the terrible position of deciding whether to kill one another. Perhaps they could gang up on the shaman, but unless D'Artagne helps the orcs there's no way that the horde is going to get where they need to go without having to slaughter their way through hundreds of angry orcs. And the King.

Say, maybe Emily should come back sometime soon?
"You'll have your safe passage if you help butcher the thing attacking my village!" the shaman answered. Then he pushed past D'Artagne and stormed down the path from his hut. Several of his guards stomped forward to push D'Artagne along as they followed him out.

With the dead already in dozens and the village starting to catch fire the mob of orcs disintegrated into a wild stampede as they tried to flee. This was short lived; after only a minute something caused them to near instantly find their bravery again. It would seem that the arrival of their leader had that effect; they feared him more than they did Torrens. They moved back a ways closer to where the fire demon was, but this time they made no effort to attack Torrens. A raucous cry began to take hold amongst the throngs of orcs. "Gormlag! Gormlag!" they roared in unison, cheering at the arrival of their champion, the shaman.

Gormlag suddenly burst out from the crowd and charged towards Torrens with an unnatural speed for a brute of his size, searing claws outstretched. Unlike the other orcs, he didn't show the slightest hint of trepidation upon seeing the fire demon, nor the charred remains of all the fallen. No, it only drove him into more of a rage.

Meanwhile, the other guards were quick on Gormlag's heels, and one of them threw D'Artagne out into the field.

"Go kill da fire devil!" one ordered.

"Help da big mighty shaman!" said another, which quickly started a small argument over whether the shaman was mighty enough to handle his own fights.

"Kill it right now or we eat you, little rabbit thing!" roared one last orc, who unlike the others seemed willing to force D'Artagne to do it. Raising his spear, he moved to prod the rabbitman forward (or perhaps outright impale him) if he didn't go on his own volition.
@Cyclone For the love of...

Right. The other Lawful gods are just as batshit as mine in opposition to me. And there's a million and one chaos Gods...

I demand the Chaos Gods fight each other while we Law Gods build up our forces!

Zephyrion for one is the type to turn a blind eye to all the scheming and grand plans of Logos' like provided that they don't do anything to aggrevate him.

The issue is that he's easy to aggrevate, and I think a lot of these Order gods will object to him anyways
I've filled out all the sections of my CS. Granted, I still don't think it's perfect, but out of laziness I might not clean it up further.

@CycloneHmm. That's a good point. I was thinking about branching into stuff like curses and blessings, though. Would that be covered under Occult, do you think?

Well, looking at the definition:

oc·cult
əˈkəlt/
noun
noun: occult; plural noun: occults

1.
supernatural, mystical, or magical beliefs, practices, or phenomena.
"a secret society to study alchemy and the occult"
synonyms: the supernatural, the paranormal, supernaturalism, magic, black magic, witchcraft, sorcery, necromancy, wizardry, the black arts, occultism, diabolism, devil worship, devilry, voodoo, hoodoo, white magic, witchery, mysticism; raretheurgy
"his interest in the occult"

Your curses and stuff could fall under something like voodoo/witchcraft/black magic. Really about anything on that list of synonyms could be a reasonable portfolio for you to expand into.
@Cyclone That's where I'm currently a bit stuck. I've got a couple of main ways; the first is to be god of domain freedom, portfolio free will. The second is to go as a god of demonic entities and boons/banes that are lent out to people in return for some kind of sacrifice. I think I'd have domain sacrifice, portfolio demons. Or something like that; I'm not sure how you would translate that into domain/portfolio.

I think I'll go with the latter one. But what're your thoughts?

Occult(Demons) with potential for future expansion into (Vampirism) and the like is what I'd do, personally.
I'm planning to post later today

<Snipped quote by Cyclone>

Yep.

By devil's advocate/adversary, I didn't mean selfish or evil. I meant more like someone who would provide the role of testing the world, giving challenges or providing temptation to good and bad creations alike. Someone who might whisper in a hero's ear just before he died that they could easily provide him with a way out...

The guy who would represent some aspect of the "easy way". Where morality and worship of a god, good or bad, might take dedication and provide spiritual satisfaction...the adversary would give you the chance to fall away from the long and arduous path, because it's just so much easier. And so much more rewarding.

An interesting concept! I can see you being able to pull off something like that.

I for one take no objection with it. What do you think your domain and portfolio would look be, though?
@Dawnscroll

How could you forget Slough, the zombie deer whose rotting flesh spawns little critters?

Just posting to say I'm playing in the RP. Not quite sure what kind of god to play yet, but I have a few ideas. What's the thoughts on Adversary types? I don't mean evil, so much as playing devil's advocate...

Have you read some of the other character sheets that have already been submitted? If not, I'd urge you to stop and do that, both to see what sort of roles have already been taken and to maybe find inspiration in there somewhere.

To answer your question, we have a fair share of gods that are insane, selfish, or outright evil.
